Members in that age range can decide whether they want to be 69 again or 80 lol.

This is what I understand about rental cars and loaner cars. Unless the rental agency (which is Lexus in your case) offers an optional insurance plan (I don't recall them offering one as my Lexus dealership uses my personal car insurance when I sign out a loaner car), then it's your own personal car insurance is what's going to kick in when you are involved in any damage or accident to the rental vehicle you are driving. If you decline the optional insurance plan, consider it like you're driving your own personal car and when you get hit, the process will be the same. Only difference is that the car that is damaged isn't yours so you don't have to be too picky about how perfect the repair should look but you should try defend yourself in your case because the loaner car is damaged and the dealership will not pay for any damages to their vehicles. In your case if the evidence proves that the other party is at fault, you should talk to your insurance and see what can be done. I'm THINKING (don't hold me accountable for this) the other party won't accept liability is because they're taking the easy way out by saying "You aren't driving your own car so we won't accept liability" but talk to your insurance and say that you have the rental agreement with your Lexus dealership to prove that the vehicle was legally released for your own use and that should help fight the other party's insurance

I go to the dealer. It's convenient, service advisors are great, relaxing lounge to wait at or drive off in a loaner car if necessary, and they give some freebies once in awhile. For example, my door lock broke a couple months after my warranty expired and my Lexus dealer gave me a complimentary service on it, so I paid nothing to get it fixed! Plus after being rear ended 3 times on my non-Lexus vehicle, I had that dealership fight alongside with me regarding my rear alignment being knocked out due to the accident and not from me running over every pot hole in the city. Eventually insurance was being a d*ck and ended up shouting at the service manager but it gives you peace of mind that someone is there to back you up in the most unexpected situations.

Test Drove A Ct200H The Other Day
denslexusgx470 replied to denslexusgx470's topic in Lexus CT200h Club
Lol. The wife of a good friend was looking for a car and they test drove a Prius already so might as well offer them the CT200H since it's new, it's a hybrid, same size, and about the same price. It looks nice, but too small for me. It turned a lot of heads for sure. Cars ranging from a CR-V to a 09 IS350 parked next to me at a stoplight, it definitely turned heads lol. -
I had the opportunity to test drive a new CT200H. First of all, that car is way too small for me (I'm only 5'11"). We had a full load of 5 people in the car, the smallest one being about 5'4" and the rest ranged from 5'7"- 5'11" (so you can imagine how cramped we were and how worked up the car was). Even with all the weight, the car did decently ok! It was pretty peppy than what I imagined. If you drive the car in normal mode, the car feels like a typical hybrid. The vehicle feels lighter than a Prius for sure. The steering wheel feels a little sportier, not too "Lexus-like" even with the way it handles. Now if you push it over to Sport mode, it really gives you full engine power. They claim that maybe the worst gas mileage you can get with the car will be around maybe 35mpg (which to me is like a JACKPOT considering that I have all SUVs in my garage and a BMW). Otherwise they said it will be well into the 40s. Also the car has an 11 gallon gas tank, so even if gas hits $5/gallon, that's only $55 for a full tank. The controls are confusing to me. They seemed to be scattered everywhere (have you seen the interior of the CT200H?) but still user friendly unlike the simple pictures that the Germans use in their Mercedes and BMW (especially the non-user friendly i-Drive) I LOVE the gauges though. When you're driving in Normal mode, one of the gauges is the typical hybrid meter But if you have the car on Sport mode, the hybrid meter turns into a tach and the lights around the gauges turns red! I absolutely love that! Overall I was satisfied with the performance of the vehicle aside from the horrible interior space for bigger people like myself Found a link to an Autotraderlink

Congrats!! Looks clean!! There was an 06 400H for sale here in my area, I believe 62k on the clock for about $24k. Same options as yours, just gold with ivory interior.

Tires really make a big difference. Got rid of those Toyos that it had and turns out the previous tire shops tightened the lug nuts way too hard. Today they took about 30 seconds (not even exaggerating) to unscrew each lug nut off my wheels sheesh

I was wondering if anyone attempted to modify the switch on the fog lights so that you can turn them on without turning on the low beams. I have done it with my 4Runner but not sure how to go about it with the RX. Does anyone know where the fog light relay is located at? From there I could possibly figure out how to modify it so that the fogs will turn on without the low beams on.

Yeah, that was better than any daytime soap opra or drama. LOL! Congrats on the RX. It looks great! LMAO. LoL! Wow, now that you guys mentioned it, I'm starting to feel that drama once again haha. Thanks this baby is hard to find. Knowing how PICKY I am with a clean car, this one perfectly fits my criteria and actually EXCEEDED my expectations for a 10 yr old car

Thanks Steve but I don't think any chrome tip will work because the tail pipe is originally bent. Probably have to go to a muffler shop so they can fit me one that would look nice. I'll post some pics of the interior soon. Didn't realize that I only posted pics of the exterior only.

These mint conditions vehicles are hard to find. I was fortunate enough to find it even though it was located 200 miles away from my place. I'll post more possibly after I changed the crappy tires. Traction sucks and everyone is saying that its starting to crack due to lack of use :-/ BTW does anyone know where I can buy a Chrome exhaust tip for this? I've checked with my Lexus dealer and they don't have one.

Perma Paint Protector
denslexusgx470 replied to denslexusgx470's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
Ya so far I've washed it with the same soap I've been using all along. The black emblems are sensitive, there's a notice in the manual of the Do's and Don'ts in caring for the emblems I prefer just the regular chrome emblems but this car obviously came with black emblems from factory -
Created a new thread for it HERE

Here are the pics of her. Sorry the weather has been on and off rain but I'll let you all decide which pics were after it rained and which ones were after I washed her ;)
-
Thanks. Doesn't matter, HIDs can be easily added on as long as the rest of the car is in tip top condition. Can't afford much like some people here ;) LmaO LoL... Wow NC, you still remember all that??? Lol. Actually the RX doesn't get a spot in the garage. The next thing I really need is a house with a 4 car garage RX is used so it sleeps outside. We just gave it the opportunity to sleep inside for the first few days before I let my neighbors know that my CR-V has been changed. Hahaha... I still can't stop laughing at how you remember all the drama around here NC. I must be the one with Alzheimers disease lol

Whoa. I barely realized how HUGE that picture file is. If you can't see your own reflection off those shiny cars, then you need to see an eye doctor lol :whistles: All kidding aside, I'll get better pictures over the weekend. It rained today so it got a little dirty and I don't have much time to wash her (for the first time) yet since I'm still dealing with the sale of the CR-V which should be gone tomorrow if things go as planned. :cries: To quench your curiosity, I'll post one more good shot of her for now. I still have to post more amazing pictures of what is called "TLC (Tender LOVING Care)" (even Josh will be amazed at how clean this is).

Have you taken it to the Lexus dealership? They should be able to fix it or replace it under warranty

How Many Miles On Your Gx? Any Problems?
denslexusgx470 replied to mkfromvlad's topic in 03 - 09 Lexus GX470
Almost 61k miles. Apparently I had posted back in August with only 58k miles so that's 3k miles in 6 months -
-
Well that's expected and I'm ready for that. It's wear and tear but I have to live with it because I'm still a dependent. As long as major items in the vehicle are in ok condition, I'm ok with it. I found a nice clean 2001 Silversport. I'll post pics soon.

I'm joining the bandwagon (again after 8 years of absence of owning an RX) once again

Perma Paint Protector
denslexusgx470 replied to denslexusgx470's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
Well I got the car with it and the paint seems too perfect to be a 10 year old car honestly. There's no scratches whatsoever except the front for a few very minor rock chips. How about the black emblems, are they really sensitive??
