  1. Do you have a picture of what the unit looks like behind? You've un-installed it right? I'll be willing to do $210 shipped with the iPod cable, but I want to see a picture of the whole unit so that I'll have an idea whether it will work for me or not. But I am really interested in this. I have a meager amount of knowledge about the F900bt because it was pretty expensive but I really wanted that HU so I'm hoping I'll be able to finally buy one from you. Also, this includes the microphone for the bluetooth right?
  2. You have some good questions, let me see if I clear these up for you: (1) It just comes with the 2 custom dash pieces. The iPod cable that I used for my Pioneer 90bt was the specific iPod cable used for the 90bt and the 900bt (possible the 700bt as well, but I would have to look into it more). I am also selling this iPod cable, as well as head unit (as well as 2- HD radio tuners and a backup camera...all pioneer), but it does not come with the dash pieces. If you would be interest in any of those other items, please email me and I will send you a link. (2) It is custom fit for any second generation IS car. IS-250, IS-350, or IS-F. Keep in mind, a double din radio installed into the factory harness widens the center console about 3mm on either side. These custom dash pieces take that into account and are that extra wide to fit snug. (3) DVD Maps: I think you are referring again to the Pioneer 90bt head unit. If you are interested in this, yes, I have all original Manuals, etc. This model does not have DVD Maps. They are stored internally in Flash Memory unlike the Pioneer AVIC-D3 which requires Map DVDs. Ironically, I still have a copy of the DVD Maps for the D3 if you are interested as well. ha Let me know. I would just need to buy a dash piece to fit it into my car right? It's not going into any IS but I've asked about it before (on a 900bt) and they have the necessary stuff to make it fit in my car. Secondly, does your price include the backup camera and ipod cable? Not too much into HD radio but I don't mind that hehe.. Do I need the D3 DVDs? I am aware that the old D3 required the DVD to use the Navi but the 90BT, 900Bt, and 700BT dont need it anymore.. But I would like to have them also...
  3. Technically you don't meet the requirements yet to be able to sell items on this forum but I'll let this one slide because I have a question about it. First of all, what comes with it? Does it come with an iPod cable? Secondly, it was custom fit to an IS but I'm sure it will fit on any other car right? Do you still have the DVD Map and manuals with it? How about $200 including shipping?
  4. The thing is, the power of the V6 and V8 4Runner is the same. Acceleration time and towing capacity is the same with the only difference being that the V8 4wd is a full-time 4wd like the GX while the V6 4wd isn't. They did raise the torque on the GX from the old 320lb-ft to 370lb-ft I believe, that the new one has now. But like I said, heavier weight but more power, means it will have the same power as the old ones. They did raise the 4Runner's HP to 270, which is above the 4th gen's V8 hp but the 4Runner too is heavier than the 4th gen. The window switches totally reminds me of a Land Rover! That's where they got that idea from and yes I wonder how long those will last once water can easily seep into the switches now. People I guess have complained that the switches were too low on the previous generation, but now they exaggerated it too much and raised it too high.
  5. So lately I've had the opportunity to test drive both the new 4Runner and the new GX. Since I have both of the previous generations, I had the chance to compare. My initial thoughts: NOT REALLY TOO FAR OFF! The 4Runner is where I noticed a big change. First of all, it's roomy!! Wow! I have to admit I felt a lot better in the bigger cabin of the 4Runner, and they didn't sacrifice ground clearance. Engine supposidly has more horses under the hood but honestly, it felt the same Felt like a sluggish/sleepy version of my 4Runner but we also have to remember these cars haven't been broken in yet as the 4Runner I tested only had 30 miles on the clock. Brakes felt and sound the same like mine. The only noticeable difference from the old 4Runner to the new one, is the STEERING. The steering is a lot lighter for a car that heavy! I know my old RX300 had a feather light steering, and many people complained about that but I'm wondering why Toyota/Lexus are gradually going back to the light steering characteristic? The GX460 was a lucky drive! I went to the formal debut of the vehicle at my dealership and my sales guy told me to come back the following day for a chance to possibly test drive a GX if the customer doesn't call back. To my luck, customer didn't call back so I took the opportunity to drive the GX460. The space inside the new GX isn't too noticeable since my GX was already roomy to begin with, unlike the "sports car" feel of the small cabin space of my 4Runner. It did feel like an FJ Cruiser though because the windshield is more erect and so is the dashboard. Engine power, once again, felt the same! Yes they raised the horsepower on the GX also, but it got heavier at the same time. So it counter-balanced it in my opinion, and it felt and sounded just the same as my GX. The steering wheel was a tad bit lighter to handle, BUT since the GX is a really top-heavy vehicle, it didn't feel too light compared to the new 4Runner vs the old 4Runner. The new gadgets on the GX are great I heard, but obviously you can't play around with everything in the car just on a test drive. The GX also felt sleepy/sluggish, and this one only had 8 miles on the clock. The sales people were all staring at me when I pulled up into the parking lot because my sales guy informed me that not all of them have driven the new GX yet, and my sales guy even claims that he hasn't drive one yet aside from pulling the car forward from the platform onto the parking lot :o To me, both vehicles were great! But both had too many resemblances of their ancestors. The 19 speaker ML setup in the new GX is amazing tho! I have to admit! Felt like having your own personal home theater on the road. As for the "party mode" of the 4Runner, I don't see why you wouldn't turn it on all the time if it turns on an extra 2 speakers in the back to make the music sound better
  6. I know how dealerships work. I worked at a dealership once, they made me test drive a customer's car BUT told me to go thru the McDonalds drive-thru before I head back That's why my local dealerships do a thorough walk-thru of my car before taking my car into the shop. PLUS I take note of the mileage before I leave so that I'm aware if my car's been used as a shuttle or if it truly was just serviced. PLUS I learned to thoroughly walk around my car before leaving the dealership because my GX's rim was VANDALIZED once! They rotated my tires, but some idiot wrote "F" and "L" on my rim! (on the rim located on my front left) :chairshot: Told the manager about it and luckily they fixed the vandalism. On my 4Runner they chipped my chrome-plated rim, because when they rotated it the tech must have missed the lug nut and hit my rim instead. I told the service advisor before I left, and voila they ordered a new rim for me :) Just be responsible and know your car, its damages (scratches, dents, etc) and mileage, and you should be fine with taking your car to the dealership ;)
  7. Update: BARELY finally getting progress from these stupid insurances!!!  Ridiculous it's been over a month now! :chairshot: Won't be until about Jan 18ish when I can bring the car in because obviously stupid insurance is trying to avoid weekends because of the rental car factor that they have to provide me a rental car while my car is in the shop.... The next stress: to push the shop to get NEW parts and replace as much as I can. I removed my spare tire and found dents in my rear door so it's more than " a scratch" on my spare tire cover
  8. Wish I could just sell or get rid of the CRV, and have this instead lol... Would be a nice garage huh? Lexus vs BMW vs Mercedes lol!
  9. The F-150 has insurance. The painful part is that the truck is a work truck so it doesn't really matter to the guy who hit me aside from his insurance premium going up. I'm not paying a single penny for this so I'm waiting for the other insurance to answer so that even my deductible will be covered. My insurance SHOULD NOT go up, but we know how insurance scams work... My mom's non-fault accident where she got rear-ended her premium went up a bit even though it was not her fault. <_<
  10. Pictures Door won't shut properly.. Need to slam door to shut it The ONLY naked eye damage that any Tom, !Removed!, and Harry on the streets will notice.. Otherwise it's really "big" because it's the door that's affected
  11. Ya I'm wondering if this will affect my insurance... "Bad luck premium"?? Both are obviously not my fault, and both didn't happen with adverse weather or anything, so I have no idea how my insurance is going to look at this. The last accident didn't raise the premium and I really hope and pray that it won't raise my premium this time.. <_<
  12. Actually both my accidents were daytime accidents.. Both weren't during rush hour traffic. The July accident was from a sudden stop scenario so it was more likely to happen.. This one though is not fair because we were all stopped but the F-150 wasn't paying attention and presumed that the cars in front of him were going to move (which makes sense because it was a green light) but apparently we haven't because the person in front of me hasn't :( Fog lights are a European thing. I know all Mercedes have it, and apparently Jaguars have em too. I don't think our 528i has it but it does have the night time park lights you can leave on (with just one side on) :P
  13. Ya one person said that my car's too "attractive" I guess, and is catching the attention of drivers, hence making them unattentive to their driving lol.. Or there's something on my back window that makes them look (Tint??)... The stupid F-150 only got a bent front license plate... :chairshot::chairshot::chairshot: This is a minor accident yes, but the impact was slightly BIGGER even though this one came from a stop. Forgot to explain the story. I was the second car at a stop light. The light turned green but the car in front of me didn't move! I honked my horn to tell him to go and BOOOM... I get hit in my A$$ instead by the F-150 behind me! We pulled over to the side, and at first I thought I only needed a new spare tire cover but once I opened the rear door I found my door to be a little "rough" in the way it opens and closes... After further looking into it, I realized that the door is affected this time but my rear bumper was left unscathed.. To think that a couple hrs before the accident I went to the body shop to set an appt to have them replace a bumper screw that broke off and was stuck in the screw hole. Since it's the shop's workmanship they should change it for free. They were surprised to find me walking into the shop a couple hours later NEEDING AN ESTIMATE.. :cries: Ha! I don't need a third one... My insurance lady might commit suicide if a third one happens! lol.. She was really annoyed by my meticulous TLC for my cars, and once she got a call from me she immediately said "Oh no, don't tell me you got into ANOTHER ACCIDENT?" and I said "unfortunately, YES".. At that moment she's probably like "Oh crap, here we go again... FML" lol..
  14. Hold and behold, MY 2ND ACCIDENT in my life... 2nd accident in a year... 2nd accident within 6 months.. :chairshot: :chairshot: :chairshot: :chairshot: :chairshot: Same story, got rear ended. Physical damages to my CR-V aren't as noticeable as my 1st accident, but the problem is that now my rear door is bent due to a big F-150 hitting me and somewhat misaligned my rear spare tire... Lucky that this may take out a few more scratches for free, or is it bad luck??
  15. I heard from the BMW forums that door handles and fog lamps STILL fall off current BMW models lol. I thought that was only an 01 BMW thing, but sadly still exists till now. Get a clearance deal on whatever BMW model (car preferrably, BMW SUVs are no good at all because they're cheap quality and you dont get the real BMW experience) and have that as a weekend car someday. B) Or how about a 5th Gen 4Runner ;) Those don't look too bad and they are really made for any type of terrain (even pot-hole filled streets)
  16. http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2009/11/2010-...otos-of-us.html
  17. I didn't have the chance to look at the pictures... Even then, just put the car in neutral or drop the tranny and put it in Park. As long as the gear shifter isn't one of those "high-tech" one like in the M-Class, GL-Class, X5, 5series, etc, it should be the next thing to do after applying the brakes.
  18. Not to also disrespect the victims of this, but what about simply slamming on the brakes? I encountered this situation in an old Rav4 before. I test drove an old Rav4, and after accelerating really hard, I noticed that (no floor mats or anything!) the gas pedal was literally stuck! Now I didn't think of just driving in neutral (it was an AT), but the first thing that came to my common sense mind was to slam on the brakes to at LEAST slow it down. I practically drove on the brakes for a mile until I was able to stop in a parking lot where after I killed the engine switch, I could see my brakes all smoking :o :o That whole time I was just slowing the car down by slamming on the brakes, and at times pulling the hand brake. That accident could have been prevented if you simply just slam on the brakes even if the gas is stuck. SW is also right, it should have hit the redline and killed the engine anyways.. Or in the very worse, put the car in PARK and just drop that whole transmission... Better to wreck the transmission rather than get killed in an accident
  19. I agree. That's when the money factor in leases vary from time to time, depending on the sales of a particular vehicle. I remember when SUVs were selling at a SLOOWWW pace, that's when I got a really good lease deal on my 4Runner.
  20. Nope. Only the ES350 for sure is under the recall, and Camry and Prius also I think
  21. I was wondering how many of you are attached to your cars? I know it's a really bad thing to be attached (physically, emotionally, whatever!) to any material item but I only realized how much I'm attached to my cars just yesterday. Yesterday I made the biggest change in my car-history life! My childhood memory automobile, our old 1997 Honda Odyssey, was finally transferred to a new owner. Sadly though that car will not be happy with the new owner as I heard they are going to beat the s%&* out of it :cries: :cries: :cries: :cries: :cries: The car wasnt a car that many really liked. It was considered a mini-van, but it lacked sliding doors. It was good on gas, but it had a slow 4cyl engine. It was a practical car come to think of it. It didn't turn heads, but it was practical in the sense that in the 12 years of owning it, I actually got to use the 3rd row seats like 5 times! LOL. Most of the time they were folded flat thus providing an ENORMOUS amount of cargo space in the back. Lately as we have acquired other cars, the Odyssey seemed like a car that just wouldn't go. Plus no one in our house wanted to drive it anymore, because obviously everyone wants to drive a newer car lol. Now (fortunately and I'm very thankful) our garage seems to be a little "crowded" so we decided to clear up some space. We realized that the Odyssey is only worth a certain amount, but if the A/C breaks within a year, to replace the A/C is more than what the car is worth. BTW this car has 162,300 miles on the clock, PURE CITY miles. Technically that is "abused" but with my TLC, it gets it's proper maintenance ASAP and cosmetically it was in better shape than most cars that are half it's age. I believe the same TLC and attachment goes for the GX as that's the next car in the garage that we've kept the longest aside from the Odyssey (going to be 7 years for the GX)..
  22. Happy Birthday SK! He's probably at his Lexus dealership haggling the price of a brand new LS460 lol
  23. Belated Happy Birthday! Sorry I don't check this forum often enough so I tend to miss everyone's birthdays :( lol Hope you had a good 40th!
  24. Happy Birthday!
  25. Well that's good that you decided to stick with the GS. :) A high-mileage BMW isn't advisable lol IMHO..
