Let us know how the Latitudes are! I'm curious and especially how many miles they will go. I'm at 54k miles on my Cross Terrains and the tire shop told me I have a good (maximum stretch) of 40k miles on these left. :o
-
Sorry for the late reply, but the 4Runner (any year) fog light will not fit the GX470. If you are talking about the 03-05 4Runners, the fog light assembly they have also includes their turn signals also but with the GX the fog light assembly only consists of the fog light.

Agree. Only the dealer can adjust that (if they can, not sure if the sensitivity can be adjusted)

BMW, honestly, if you're starting with a high mileage one, and you are coming from Toyota/Lexus, you might have a bad experience with Bavarian Motor Works. BMWs at high mileage are costly. They don't last as long as Lexus and high repair bills usually result from them. I have an 09 528i now and I don't plan on keeping her after the lease is up. If I want a BMW after the lease is up, I will have to lease a new one again. <_< GX470s are great! I agree with SW LOL They have problems also, but not very major ones. Find one without the clunk (you know, you drive a 4Runner) and a GX470 will serve you until you get really sick of it because of high mileage and trying to kill it but it just won't die on you ;) There might be specials on remaining 09 BMWs... There might be an 09 328i available at your local BMW dealership and give that one a try in terms of a test drive and some $$$ figures.

The LS is a very reliable and refined car, no doubt about that. trust me though, people who buy these German cars are really addicted to it. Its not uncommon to hear owners who drove a 328i for 5 months traded that in for a 335i in a blink of an eye! :o There's a lot of guys on the forums who would die to own a M5, even if it means selling their new 550i (which is already a V8 geez!) for a used M5! Complicated? Yes. These cars were built with buttons that you have to figure out what the symbol means. Took me awhile to figure out the star looking buttons on my steering wheel and which of the A/C buttons was for the A/C, and which was for the Auto A/C I was only surprised because this guy who made that comment is a young guy, early 30s guy, someone who really will beat the s@^*t out of a BMW, would someday like to drive an LS. One thing is for sure, once you start off with these german cars and get addicted to them, it's hard to like a Lexus, I will honestly say this. It is a totally different driving experience. I could clearly see NC getting into a world war with some of those BMW owners who bash other companies, especially Lexus lol. :chairshot: But I would still rather drive the GX than the 528i for some reason haha :whistles:

This is not a personal testimony that I'm making lol but today one of our clients made a surprisingly ironic comment. This guy is a big BMW fan. He is one of those guys, it's BMW or BUST.... He said he became a BMW lover since he was a kid because of all the reviews and stuffs in the magazines how the 3 series always beats the competition. Hence so this guy drives an 08 335i in the beautiful (to me) Montego Blue with every option except Navi. Today the topic of cars was somehow brought up and he said that yes he's a BMW guy today but someday his dream car is still a Lexus LS! :o :o :o I find that odd coming from a BMW fanatic because I know BMW owners (sorry to anyone else who has a BMW here also hehe) are biased and would never go with any other brand once they are in the BMW world. They say that other companies like Lexus and Mercedes are trying their best to be BMW-wanna-be's but that's not true. Every company has their own style. Lexus is for luxury, comfort and reliability. Mercedes is a mix of sportiness and luxury while BMW is more of sporty and road-hugging handling. Interesting though hehe

Looking To Buy A New Vehicle, The Comparisons
denslexusgx470 replied to smooth1's topic in General Chat
Sorry I've been hella busy with school and didnt have time to respond fast enough to this thread, but how long do you (sorry I really didnt read every single line of this thread also lol i just skimmed thru it) plan to keep this next car? Honestly, I'm starting to suggest looking into a 5 series BMW (if the rear lights are ok with u, a lot of people arent fond of it). It's big enough, for a little under $50k it's a fun car to drive! ;) A mechanic I know pretty well told me that yea Buick has that notion of "old people's car" but he says that the Enclave is the BEST luxury SUV out there. Not only quiet but he says it's the best bang for the buck! VW is another story. Fun to drive also, not sure about long term reliability also, but they all take Premium gas though (even the simple $12k Rabbit) Mercedes are great cars, but not for long term either. Personally have driven an ML55 AMG, ML350, E350, C300, C230 and they were all fun to drive! Sporty yet you feel the luxury in it. BMW is all sporty, not really "luxury" aside from it's name and gizmos. -
As 1990LS400 mentioned, some people may not need the phone for it's full capabilities. Some may like it because of it's design, size, etc but don't need digital voicemail or an unlimited text package if the person barely text messages. I have a Centro but I don't have a data plan because I hardly ever use the internet on my phone. I use my laptop to get emails and do my work on. But I do have unlimited text hehe :D

Wow that looks clean for a 98 with 168k on the clock. GL with the sale ;)

Cheers to Lexus!  In my list of luxury car brands, I pick (in the following order) 1. Lexus 2. BMW 3. Mercedes :whistles:

I agree! Lately I've been getting emails from "Bank of America" saying that my account has been hacked or something and it looks really legit but then the FROM email address is something like xxx@xxxx.com so I instantly deleted it before moving on.

Oh I see. Ya for a certain time Rappatoni actually implemented a token-key code also which was a PITA because you couldn't log onto the MLS if you had forgotten your token key! :chairshot: But they removed that token-key lately because of the switch to CalRedd but now it was switched back to Rappatoni because of the numerous complaints from the real estate companies in our association of realtors lol.
-
Well why else would they sell them? That's true about the data plan. We don't have that because there's always an available computer or laptop wherever we go lol. What I meant about the iPhone is that it created a way for both Apple and AT&T to make uneccessary profit out of customers who don't need the data and messaging plan. I see old people who have iPhones and I'm pretty sure they don't need to be constantly checking their emails to see if their next luncheon got postponed or moved up sooner than planned. But I can't type with the iPhone. Couldn't get used to it. Would much rather have the actual keyboard and feel the keys when typing or texting
-
LOL.. oh Steve. Now you need a wireless broadband modem from any cellphone company haha (I just got one, love the fact you can sit in traffic and search the FULL internet on a laptop, or even search the MLS on the go while showing a house) :) Btw this is a random question Steve. But in your company, for your association of realtors do you guys use Rappatoni? Just curious. Lately here in my area they changed to CalRedd and everyone hates it! I hate it too, it's too complicated and doesn't give you the necessary data. So the broker of our office actually FOUGHT the association and they convinced the whole association to switch back to Rappatoni. Yey! Just curious if your association of realtors uses Rappatoni or a different MLS software hehe
-
They should all cost the same regardless! The iPhone is just a money-maker for both Apple and AT&T. They change the phone updates and features every year, aren't they? Yet I can ALMOST do everything an iPhone can with my simple Palm but of course I can't play those driving games where I have to tilt the phone like a real steering wheel to play the game. Can the iPhone even multitask like send a text message while you are on a 3 way call? lol.
-
I'm guilty too lol. Checking my Palm Centro and also checking out other cars that stand out to me (which consist of practically any Lexus, Toyota 4Runners like mine, and now BMW 5 series esp M5s ) <_< lol I know talking and driving is just as dangerous but normally I still have the bad habit of driving and talking on the speakerphone (if I forget my bluetooth headset). :(

This kinda reminds me of my family's situation. We have 5 cars, but only 3 people in the house Supposidly we are selling our old Odyssey but we haven't been really serious about selling it lol GL with the LS430 sale

800, 1200, 1500, 2000, 3000 grit wetsand paper, meguiars Ultimate compound and then the same polish/glaze/wax/sealant used on the body. If you wax your headlights every time you wax your car, it wont happen, minimum is 3x a year. Really? Ok. I'll try waxing it first. The hazing isnt too bad at the moment so maybe a little wax can rub it out

Personally NC the iPhone is great but it lacks out on "simple features" that other cellphones have. I know the new 3.0 something update is coming out (unless you have the 3GS already) but the iPhone currently can't send or receive MMS! Kinda annoys me because my friend has an iPhone but I can't send him pictures that I take with my simple Palm Centro.. I've always been a Palm person and I would still get another Palm! Love it because it's simple, yet it can do a lot of wonderful things. You can make your own ringtones and not pay AT&T for ringtones, you can listen to MP3s and watch videos on it, you can search the web on a Palm, the calendar feature is AWESOME especially if you are the type that has a lot of appointments and stuffs. Calculator is also great and you can add applications like a Periodic Table, or a Loan calculator, etc... It's up to you. Sorry I posted so late NC but I hope I helped you (or discouraged??!) in your decision for your wife's next phone :)

Thanks Renoir911. Hence this just shows why we make the Buy and Sell forums a little strict because of spammers in today's world. If anyone feels or senses any spammers, feel free to message myself or any of the moderators or administrators here on LOC and we will handle it from there. Thank You Denslexusgx470 LOC Moderator

Belated Happy Birthday too! (even though he rarely ever goes on the forums lol)

Sorry I forget to check this forum since we made this separate but BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLAKE

Hey Josh. What materials did you use for the fading headlights? I'm starting to have a small sign of headlight fading on my 4Runner and want to start removing it ASAP before it gets worse. ;)
-
I agree with the two replies here. Have you seen the engine of an LS460? Now that car will probably annoy you a lot more because there's absolutely NO ROOM at all to fit any hands or fingers through the engine cover... Compared to our GX's Engine Bay

I've seen only certain parts of that video on tv a couple weeks ago. They were discussing whether it will send a message out but then again it not only sends out a message saying that texting is dangerous but also sends a good message to wear your seatbelt also and be more alert when driving.
