  1. I have yet to see any diff in oils (online etc) between the two for the over $2.50 delta in price per qt. Yup, I am using there 0w-20 on my es (with 113,000 miles) on her. I would only use LC20 from lube controll in my oils. Lucas make some good stuff but I would need to see before and after UOA on it (in oil). It is like there Lucas fuel UCL..Does nothing for me (aka my mpg) etc. But use what makes you happy; but I would do some UOA using it. I have used them (amsoil) since early 1990's. I stopped after awhile but went back due to "you do not know what you have unless you try something else"
  2. I have used amsoil for over 14 years and tried alomst every oil they have. I have used other like supertech, mobil, and others. There 5w-30 was very week (and did thicken in my ES) and I am now like 5000 miles into there 0w-20 oil....WAY better performance here. Worth the same price. I have way to many UOA on there 5w-30 (asl) and will compare to there 0w-20.. PLus I gained some serious mpg with the switch.
  3. sounds like they have no idea what they are talking about...or using 1970 data. I have used both and both will work. It comes down to what you want from the oil. Longer usage, better/lower wear numbers, cleaner engine...... I will continue to use my Amsoil 0w-20 for many reasons.
  4. That is my point. Some tips from anything is great but there are many (good/bad), way more then I can count. The forum deal was a joke since vette's (GM) are poor overpriced $%&. But ha, that is me and yup, I love to stir the pot.
  5. Yes the water with ONR. Tell them PROVE where the water came from...Water bans do not work
  6. always...rotary 9227C makita. Been using a rotary for like 12+ year now. I love the thing. I think the base coat and CG5050 make the grade. The Zaino clear shield does not add any pop etc. Not knocking the stuff but I would not buy again. No need for it.
  7. My points where a vette forum... amd there is no one way to use ONR. A blind person with no arms cannot mess it up.
  8. A vette forum..oh boy..:chairshot: use autopi.org since it has about 1000000X the info. Plus there is no one way is the best. Really is is very very hard to screw up ONR here folks.
  9. ding ding. You can wash your car with 1-gallon of water. Been do this for over 1-year...works great!!!!ONR is great and low cost!
  10. Towels from walfart are poor at best.. Use them on tires or rims. Not paint.
  11. I have used Zaino and will not buy again. Better products like CG, JW, Opti-seal, etc. Cheaper and better depth, shine, longevity etc. But that is me. I can get CG5050 wax too look way better then Zaino clear seal and will last more then 45 apps too.
  12. why do you want a cooler? You do not need one.
  13. my toyo and lexus are the same $$$$$. It is overpriced either place since all they do is Check 90% of the stuff. In my eyes, most is not needed, a huge money maker.
  14. I do not put much faith in Consumer Reports.....
  15. depends on reflectors in lights. Do not get a plugs-n-play kit unles you know what you have. Most people have non-legal HIDS and think they are right.
  16. or spray water on wires and look for a short (aka skip in motor). But with those miles, if original, I would replace since they are cheap.
  17. for the southern states that is normal. For northern states that is more wear in my book. I would take take a serious look at it.
  18. It might a slight bit (if really bad). I would replace them if that old. I do mine every 60 to 90K miles. Too gain more MPG use FP+ from Lube Control or Netrua 131. Get over 1 to 1.5 more per gallon..worth the $$$
  19. more HP is not gonna happen unless you race (aka high PRM's)..Fact here and we drive a lexes here not a vette. #2 is, for me they are not worth the time and effort. You WILL have problems done the road either with failing sensors due to over-oiling (had happen) or increased engine wear from under-oiling (as shown in oil tesing- had happen). Either use OEM or Amsoil new EAA air filter. Best bang for the $$$ is Amsoil and no failing sensors and no engine wear increasings.
  20. cheapest you can find
  21. Agreed - Thanks for pointing this out. Not being hard on your but a blocked PCV wil cause sludge and a dirty intake/TB will cause starting issues. But good start to a list.
  22. Minor but have a huge impact if not stated. These are important as changing oil.
  23. I agree with SW here. When I clay I use about 8 oz of lube
  24. Here is my input: So you changed oil & filter way before manual, nothing of fluid changes, plugs, throttle body cleanings, belts, pcv replacement, cabin filter.......................
  25. True, must use "the force" LOL.
