  1. there is another thread on this subject recently started
  2. The compressor has its own pressure switch it doesn;t loo at rpm's Once there is sufficent heat under the hood you should have no problem with cold outside to need a resistorto bypass it.
  3. They usually have the prongs made different so as not to mix them up bettweeen the 1156 single and 1157 dual filament. Do all the rest of bulbs work now?
  4. Steviej had posted a great thread about all the qualities of them both and the lawsuit pertained to them using the name long life which prestone or some one has already trademarked, not the product.
  5. Usually when anyother light on the dash doesn't light it sets off the cel. If not then don;t worry . You probably need to jsut change the bulb in there. It is not a fuse as the cluster powers all the lights itself at start up for this very check.
  6. Theya ll have a space to put one in,not all had the option installed. The 92-96 should be beside the gas pedal behind the carpet. The 97 and up should be behind the glove box ,I think amf showed a nice pic of removal for a 02 and up on another thread before it was lost ,it was of the graphics to remove and install a new one.
  7. Did they show you the plug or bolt? Anything is possible You can get a used one ,no problem and you will need a new gasket for sure though. just few bolts to drop the old one and put the new one in.
  8. The little red ball by the windheild is to tell the hvac wether there is a lot of sun and to make more cool air come from the vents to compensate . The slots on the panel to the left of the radio are the inlets for the interior temp gauge. Bascially the hvac system have a vume hose connected to it to suck the interior air in to pass a sensor located behind the door and tell the hvac what the temperature is. It should be removed once every year or so and cleaned to get the dust off it.
  9. is your parking brake on? is the fluid level low?
  10. You have just opened up something that you have no idea how it works? Most people on this site have some car knowledge .But to be a cd repair technition is very slim and at best without the thing in front of them is damn near impossible. You need to take it to a repair shop unless you have proper testing equipment to repair it ,which it doesn;t sound like. The motor could be shot ,the gears ,the bands there are so many variables.
  11. put a bottle under the rad !Removed!. Then drop it off at the local recycling yard.Atleast we have the municipality waste sites to drop off old oil ,paint ,tires and otehr stuf for free.
  12. It is not just a case of just the bulb as they are inserted into a base that is one peice with the bulb to make it a lexus application only.
  13. I am not sure are you asking how to do it or if it is any good, or jus thtat you are informing everyone you are doing it. It is a good thing to do . I have done it one my civic and my 94 ES changing the battery chasiss ground ,positive to the starter and a few other grounds. It worked great ,but i still have a crappy alternator not producing enoguh juice.
  14. No if it is a normal rich or lean condition it won;t give a cel. If the maf is full of oil then you already know that is is the problem. Take it to a pro and let them clean it ,as the filament inside is rather fragile but still should be able to be cleaned
  15. You can make leds fit but then they are going to leave black or dark spots .As an led has a very narrow field of light it produces. So pretty much only lexus has the bulbs.
  16. It should be 3 beeps in 3 sets ,so a total of 9 beeps. It means you sunroof is still tilted up a bit or a sensor is broken in it. Cloase it again and it should go away.
  17. They are the same thing ,no difference.
  18. I didn;t even know the ES came with a first aid kit . I luckly had the tool kit and changer but never see the ES modle with one. For oil , i would look at the mileage and give it a compression test. Depending on those results i would decide on which weight to go with for the season. I use mobil 1 15w-50 for summer 0w-30 for winter. I like extremes for maximum protection ,not economy . Since it is never really that hot or cold in Toronto.
  19. I have used it on my civic and it works great to reverse flush and clean the coolant very well. It connects to the heater core return hose to tap the "T" into it.
  20. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2444457909 i saw it on ebay as some people ahve asked about it before.
