  1. The mount is exactly the same but there are clearance issues .
  2. CLean you maf sensor with the throttle body cleaner.
  3. then go with ultra luxury and get iridium plugs much better than platinum.
  4. They are not as sturdy as the trd or solara one which is welded and a wider bar. But they do make a difference especially if tightened properly. So as i said for the price tehy are worth the sharper steering feel.
  5. The question you are asking can pretty much be only answered in one way. Get some one to physically look at it. PS fluid is red as it is tranny fluid.
  6. Would it not be simpler not to put money in the ashtray? or at least leave the cigarette plugged in?
  7. Don't use diy sealer to do the gasket that is a real hick way of doing things. Buy the proper gasket from toyota for a camry it is the same ,if you think you are going to be over charged at lexus. And don't listen to people telling you to add selaer to gaskets just put a thin film of oil and yiou need to scrape off any old gasket material from it as well. To remove the pan and reinstall is about 1 hour the most with the right toolsas you are also doing an oil change as well.
  8. The phone would be out of date an probably not available to use on any service in the USA. It shouldn;t need a special size as all of them are made to fit adapters for phones and other contraptions. The amp for the car might be shot for a leak on the floor or trunk.
  9. The cheap manuals are not very good. The 92-96 camry one is close shares the as most the suspension and engine for the same years matches .The 97 and up has slightly different engine managment.
  10. The simpler way if you do not have the experiance and tools is to remove the manifold.Other wise a set of proper extensions should work.
  11. You found a band-aid fix but not the problem. The screw you drilled out is there because there is no manual adjusment as it is made to be adjusted by the computer not manually.Somethingelse is cause the condition to be rich that is related to that sensor.
  12. I am not sure on location of parts on anLS but the ES i have the manual and all it really is ,is the tech wiggles wires to make sure they aren't brittle and checks sensors for resistance in tolerances. Really just over priced and probably not needed if they car has not been in an accident.
  13. How did you check the battery the last time? You battery is probably dead and is causing the starter to not turn properly. If you continue with this problem it will cause the switch in the starter to need more power to start and only compunds the issue with each turn of the key.So eventually you will need to change the starter. Most people blame the starter when it is only a problem of a low voltage situation in a high volatage cuircit which cause carbon trails and increased resistance to do work ( kind of like me after thanksgiving) . Get the battery check asap as it is colder now. The above is of course if the battery is bad,if not then your starter or pwoer wires are having an issue.
  14. I think the amonia stripped the dye out. It works like bleach on older materials more easily.
  15. good question I also thought about it ,From what i remember there was a closing date but i can't remember which it is. To post a picture go to the club gallery and there is a link right in the top for all the calander entries. Also there is supposed to be 1 entry per member so pic which one you would like to add ( so members didn;t notice that as they have a few entries in there of the same car ). No photshopped pictures are allowed also.
  16. This is going to sound stupid since this is such a really good idea for such a common problem. By having the cover go over the alternator to protect it from the steering pump .You have now reduced the air flow to the alternator causnig it to have a large amount of heat that the internal and external fan can no longer disapate. Just as a thought it might be better to make a catch for the pump rather than sheild the alternator. A really great idea and it looks way more professional than what it really is.
  17. You might want to use the pulse form the alarm ecu to trigger the lights and maybe a peizo siren under the hood.
  18. The cheapest is a pda with a gps program and sensor. Easy to use small cheap and effective. Alot of the IS 200-300 guys have them hardwired in there little hole in the dash. A regualr one like alpine or pioneer is going to cost around 1500 -4000 depending on style and options plus install.
  19. FIrst the cel is the check engine light. And yes if anyother system has a problem it usually goes on. To replace the bulb is actually very easy and done is less than 30 minutes. Remove the bezel by popping off the 2 littel black covers on top and poping out the 2 screws ,pull back and disconnec the wires for the security and dimmer. make sure you disconnec the batteyr also. 4 screws hold in the cluster. pop off and open the back cover and find the light and replace.
  20. trut bars are worth every cent and since they are so cheap they are fine. 90% of strut bars come from one small factory in taiwan in the middle of a rice field .So tehy are are pretty much the same quality and fit. When they don;t it is usaly the person installing them not doiing it properly. $50 is the most to pay for a bar.
  21. how much are they charging for the plain chrome one? As you can usually find a gold plater to do the rest easily.
  22. Sorry i would have told you earlier but i was pretty busy yeasterday andnever checked the site at all. The magnets should have no metal flkaes at all. There should be aslight metallic sludge on them.It is a mixture of oil and normal metal wear.If it feeeld like salt then you have a problem that is going to get worse. I actually just did the same thing for the same rpoblem yeasterday. The mesh everyso often in my car does plug up and it only compounds itsefl to get worse if i do not change the fluid fast enough. The main thing is to remove the mech filter ( it has 3 bolts). Take it to a sink with hot water and spray the inside of it with throttle body cleaner (the one with the long stick pipes) to get into the creases ( if you have a pipe clean use tehm they aer great.)and corners of the filter.Shake it around with the fluid for 20 minutes as vigourosuly as possible . Then from the swuare hole on top( not the long rectangular one ,which is the inlet) you want to reverse flush the filter to remove the debris. Once it look pretty clean and no more oil left.Take the filter and put it in the toaster oven ( remove the gasket on the outlet so as not to bake and make it brittle) . Toast the filter X2 to heat it up enough to remove any water as it is very deadly to trannies. Or you can just buy a new mesh filter from toyota. It is about $60. Reinstall and fill up with 2 quarts and 2 pints. I have no idea on this stuff as i knopw very little on imperial measure. That is exactly what i did and it worked perfectly after .This is the 3rd time i have had to do this in 3 years . If i do it again next week it hoepfully will never return as the mesh in the filter gets plugged and cause the tranny to starve of hydralic pressur to apply the clutches. My biggest problems where when the tranny was cold ,once it warmed up it worked much better after. I suspect alot of people changing there trannies because of a clogged filter and just not knowking they could have fixed it because the mechanic saw no changable filter. If you restarted the car and it drove after i would say you might have been low on fluid also. I also never have any large metal flakes ever just worn clutch material cloggin it. Hopefully someone will search this topic out next time they have a tranny problem on an ES,RX,camry and avalon as they are the same style tranny with the exact same problems.
