  1. no problem i hope it is right
  2. i agree with blake as the light need to be on to light it.
  3. i use mobil one and have no leaks it works wonders. I would be weary to use a smaller filter.A bigger one is fine but like someone noticed it will have less surface area for oil to pass through causing lower oil pressures ,which is not a good thing .
  4. dental floss works but it breaks alot, fishing line is what the pros use. if needed a hair dryer or heat gun or jsut have the car in the sun for a while to heat it up
  5. i'll move this to the tire section but the toyos are the best hands down over the others if you are going to get a set of summer and switch to winters later. I do and i love the added traction all year round .All i have to do is get tehm switch within an hour and $40
  6. Having the valves adjusted is a great idea but very expensive for labour as the shims are cheap to adjust tehm. Most lexus over 4 years have a small amount of tapping fromt eh valves.Nothing to worry about. I sue a synthtic and also a heavier one in summer to combat the war from dry starts and the wear on the valves drivetrain from it. A good idea to reduce alot of the noise is to put some engine flush in the oil and change it over to synthetic as well after. It clears up sticky lifters.
  7. softer doesn't mean better. It is onl a charecteristic used to evaluate its wearability over time. The thickness of the leather and if it has small blemishes in them (like wood ,having knotts and other things) is how you grade leather. But a softer longer wearing leather is more expensive.
  8. it is junk. It would have to be at an optimum speed all the time to have any results as well as be vehicle specific for the lenght of the runners of the intake and throttle system. A nice idea with a really bad execution. I love the commercial with the guy spinning the water bottles saying see how the water flows easily now that a tornado action is happening. Umm , it is because the water has moved aside to make an opening for air to pass bettween the 2 bottles at the restriction. It has nothing to do with the swirling action.Just stick a straw inbetween them and the same thing would happen ,swirling or not.
  9. 12361-50020 is the front engine mount insulator ,engine mounting
  10. i'd say check all the fuses
  11. like all cel ? you need the codes it can be anything
  12. When you are in buisness knowledge is power .Only the elite can afford the otc scanner that is programmed for lexus only. It will service and display almost nay parameter for the car to diagnoise quickly any problem with a good tech. A snap on scanner starts at $5000 and you still need to buy the keys ,plugs and adapters for different vehicles.
  13. about 15000 for the tool and connectors
  14. there are atleast 12 different hid and bulb threads read which one suites you the most and post in that one as to use it for reference advice
  15. you need to be more detailed
  16. in the front under the exhuast manifold
  17. it is one of 2 things ,either the comprosser is having troube compressing the refrigerant and it has a blockage in the system or the compressor is binding or the belt is loose either from age or needs adjustment.
  18. i use wd40 on my civic ones it worked fine but it is petroleum based i wouldn't use compressed air unless it is in a can so it has low pressure
  19. like jpi said no codes ,no idea it could be a faulty egr like alot of es owners have and it is only intermittent.
  20. i am going to move this to the gnereal maintance but an obd 2 scanner should work on your 95 not an obd 1 any scanner under $1000 will do the exact same thing, pulls a code and can reset the light nothign else, will not help diagnosis nor look at any other system codes for abs or srs.
  21. You might actually get more of a response if you would put more than a year of a car ,as that means nothing by itself. Looking to buy a 96 LS for 14000 ? Now that would have made sense as a title
  22. as mentioned before and even today in another thread remove the rubber boot and spray wd40 ni there work the switch back and forth then replace and it should work fine
