  1. agreed i use mobil1 synthetic tranny fluid in mine
  2. who cares what they think now as it is after the fact let head office know of their great accounting skills and trying to skim you besides i bet it is the car slaes man commision they forgot to add on lol
  3. if i had read this earlier i would have said to never take a used tranny especially for that price a used one can be had for about 700 the instal is the money as wel as it is more likely to have issues again like most ES's over time as well as the age that it sat around for on conctrete the best bet would have been to pay for a remaned one and suck up the difference
  4. way more info is needed as this is way to vauge year? ever taken it to a technition how long temps and anything else you can think of
  5. reading the faq would be helpful also or a search
  6. no cross wiring harness for any lexus oem changer unless it is to another lexus oem changer
  7. no problem but is this how you thank me by taking my hexxagon championship :( lmao
  8. OMG do not go back to a dealership that tells you you do not need to flush the brake fluid ,the advisor is a moron give head office a call to let the general manger know they have such a moron working for them brake fluid should be changed ever 2 years and has a max life of 3 years anything after is going to work but not up to spec the PS fluid every 4-5 is fine
  9. their is very little need for a seperate forum their are many more differences between other Lexus vehicles like an ES or LS which have more than double the years of the RX but it stands to be no reason for an entirely seperate forum as many things are carried over from years as it goes on. It sounds like a nice idea to have a nice little community of smae year owners but you end up suffering by not having similar owners share expericance of repairs and advice by segragating yourselves
  10. a convertor is usually the crap they sell at 99% of basic audio stores it usually costs about $20 for them and they are only resistors anda capacitor to lower the output rather than electronically clean the signal of noise and up the voltage to 3-4 vdc i had a pair of crystal lines they cost me $500 for the pair but the sound was beutiful for a stock head and aftermarket system
  11. if it says nakamichi on the head unit then it is but i don;t remember the ES ever coming with Nak otherwise it is a pioneer unit
  12. lmao i could have told you that hope someone else learns from your mistake glad your car drives like a lexus again
  13. moved to general discussions
  14. if you add a line level translator like a crystal line unit then you can keep your deck and add an amp in the trunk run new wires to the new speakers all done leave the old amp and wiring as they are nto very good for anything but the original very efficent stock stereo sytem
  15. let a tech look at it
  16. if you have any build up constantly replace all of them with new terminals also using 4 guage or 0-1 get a stereo shop to do it for $100
  17. stock chrome rims will usually hold up but aftermarket ones are not that great for driving in snow and salt use cheap rims for winter unless you only drive it when the weather is nice outside in the winter as it will usally peel on the inside of the rims which can cause slow leaks on the tires bead over time also it makes the finish look scratched as it will be against more abrasive surfaces such as sand and salt mixed with snow
  18. sounds good that is perfect so you are nto gettign a new engien but your old one rebulit with lots of new parts , good to know rather than guess ,defintaly a peice of mind the head being reused is fine ,since it will be cleaned and have all guides and other friction area replaced sounds like a very good replacment
  19. sensor 1 bank 1 is the one at the back of the engine bay on the exhaust manifold because you get a code it does no mean it is bad get a motorvac to remove the carbon first
  20. if you are electrically inclided and own a multimeter and a good knowledge of how to use it then it is very simple otherwise ,leave it to an expert it is finding the turn on remote wire from the stalk to the relay and rewiring it to turn on with the parking lights as well as head lights without it being shut down without it ,it will also stop them from being shut down when the high beams are on
  21. if you have a cel then it is possible
  22. forever it is the first in my collection
  23. you want a nice tighter sound that mean you need a convertor a new amp and a new sub just replacing the sub will yeild poor results. take it to a stereo shop for ideas on a free air sub as their are very few but tight bass is not a virtue of a free air sub that you have the cheapest way to change it is to add a custom box to surround the sub to clean up its frequencies
  24. sounds like you have a leaking injector causing all your problems hurry up and fix it before it burns out your cat as well if an injector leaks then the ecu can;t control it so it causes it to tel you it can't make it stop you will get a knock as it is spraying gas all the time the egr can;t control the burning of excess unburnt gas so it also throws a code get a technition to look at your car as #2 will lead you where to look
