  1. that is what i said it is not getting vacume which is the brake booster which uses vacume to apply the force to the brakes the master cylinder is attached to the brake booster which it applies the force to from the combined force of your pedal and the engine's vacume
  2. i was sure their was a recall for the charcoal canisters
  3. this may help you iam not sure if it affects the american vehicles but it is for these years of Canadian ones not sure since you didn;t emntion the year. http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/recalls/rec...&year=&cmd=next Make: LEXUS Model: LX470 Affected Year(s): 1998 1999 Units Affected: 88 TC Recall #: 1999071 Manufacturer: Campaign Code: Recall Details On certain vehicles, water could enter the housing of the trailer towing wire harness converter due to inadequate waterproofing performance and improper installation location of the unit. A short circuit could occur which can cause failure of the converter, and, if a trailer is being towed at the time, can also cause failure of the trailer lights. In some cases the converter housing could melt or electrical feedback could blow the fuse, disabling the vehicle's rear lights. Driving without the vehicle tail and/or trailer lights will increase the possibility of a vehicle crash. Correction: A redesigned towing wire harness converter will be installed in a revised location.
  4. get inserts for damged leather any replacment kits i have ever seen never look factory always have too much here or too little their leaving sags make the leather look like cheap vinyl. besides suede inserts grip you better ,don't get hot and look soo nice
  5. for a mcv10 it should cost 400 for kyb shocks 300-400 for eibach springs and 150 to install nothing more than that for oem feel with less roll and lowered hardle enough to tell without a ruler
  6. check yuor tire pressures
  7. i would agree if you have an aftermarket alarm t needs to be reset by pulling the fuse and reintalling it depending on the type
  8. check the timing or a broken rotor or cap
  9. basically it comes down to you get what you pay for it is not a diy /shadtree job their is alot of technical expertise to install it for 3 hours you buy a cheap alarm and you will get cheap alarm problems soooo all in all spend atleast 150 to install it and another 250-300 for a good one if not don;t say omeone didn;t tell you so. case closed
  10. Changing the speakers without adding a new amp or head unit will become alot less colour full sound as well as the volume being descreased significantly. The stock speakers are quite effiecent and do not work as well with any after market parts well, you may end up with a slightly better distortion less sound but that will go out the window if you turn it over half way whihc is easy to do once new speakers are installed
  11. all 400's optional on the 300 all hid's come with yellow fogs halogen come with clear fog lenses
  12. thats what makes me a technition not a mechanic
  13. you say a voltage drop but when and from where how long are you sure you are reading the meter right?
  14. I think it is only a problem with it losing vacume after sitting and the actuator inside not returning to fully open when the engine starts and creates the vacume again. it should be no problem otherwise you wouldn;t be driving your lexus. look for recalls and their are very few because at the slightest peep of a problem is repaired before it ever gets to a recall issue
  15. a first tiem installer should stick with simpl things like foglight ad basic 12vdc and ground connections not probing wires with a multmeter looking for door lock actuator wires positive and negative as well as acc start and run positions leave it to an expert as well as a store that currently sells them ,each alarm is different and they all have their own special techniques for install
  16. very nice the grille looks too much like an Acura mdx though
  17. shall do when it is all confirmed
  18. i would agree the solenoid is in need of fixing but not replacment it is caused by carbon tracking on the copper terminals which is caused by an insufficent vdc to activate causing arcing and leaving carbon tracking which gets progessivly worse like compounding interest payments you need to find why you had a low vdc problem which is more than liekly bad wires or you will end up replacing batteries and solenoids more than needed, I have a 94 and never have replaced my starter, then again i don;t know many people who have changed theirs ever
  19. lol jsut be glad they didn;t give you an LX 470
  20. yes, all toyota bumpers are ureathance to withstand a 5mph inpact with minimal or no damage and a fibregla one would never do that $325 to fix it is a from an !Removed! 150 to paint 50 to remove not sure on the exact damage though
  21. $400 is a joke unless tehy are a carbon fiber or something but even then A body shop can make some for you for $100
  22. agreed if it worked before and stopped after then they miswired somthing
  23. then put an inline 6 and work it with a turbop and be done but herassey like a chevy POS is ridiculas
  24. the biggest difference it the cheap alarm will have more occasions to leave you pressing the crap at the side of the car trying to get in and start it
