  1. I have the L-sportline exhuasts The 01 and newer 430 have a much better designed exhaust system with less bends and restriction like the 90-00 versions. The newer 430 has a small resonator then 2 flow through resonators then 2 mufflers. So finding a new muffler choice would be best suited to one that is as long as the orignal or atleast close to its length. The length determines the amount of drone and frequency of the muffler .If it is too short it will be loud and annoying. Which is why i am hesitant to remove my resonators which have ashape like an "L" because of there side inlet and rear outlet which is a major turn and power robbing design. The oem mufflers where longer than the Lsportlines which too me are pretty short. When i change mine i think i will find 2 long resonators to replace the "L" ones which should increase the power output but not the noise.
  2. Was not bad at all. Went for a guiness after the meet. With the rain we didn;t bother going for a drive to the forks.
  3. I damn well hope they don't make cutting corners by getting US source parts over Japanese ones. Would definitely keep me from buying one. BTW the savings is not just in gas it also includes reduced maintenance intervals timing belts,no serpintine belt, extended oil changes from design , brakes and other deleted items. Which equal $1000 for regular services of timing belts and such .So add that to your tax rebates and you make the 5000 difference real quick in just one service nixed for and others made to almost twice as long.
  4. What do you consult "Lexus "on? BTW they have always have had a vsc/trac override button.
  5. Nice post but please resize the pics asap, they are way too large.........
  6. WHy7 wouldn't you advise on cleaning the mesh? I cleaned mine very well after i let it sit in solution .
  7. bad battery cables or alternator
  8. The o2 sensor code is usually related to the maf needing cleaning not the actual o2 sensor codes.
  9. Yes when you go to race schedule you can check each ones top times and see who is going to be the winner 9 out of 10 times. This way you bet by pressing the bet button under the name of the person you think is going to win.It will show the other if any who are also betting.Basically the people betting on each car have their money pooled and it is divided among the people who bet on the winning car . I see you just bet on a 205 pug. Brabus 1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 (#1631) owned by denslexusgx470. [bet, 0 currently] Fast 1984 Peugeot 205 T16 (#2382) owned by andrewsmith1. [bet, 3 currently] Bet: C$15 Track: Quarter Mile Strip Race Time: 9/15/2005 1:30:00 AM your top 1/4 mile time 2 10.71 9/7/2005 denslexusgx470 Brabus 1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 (#1631) his top time 16 5.60 9/10/2005 andrewsmith1 Fast 1984 Peugeot 205 T16 (#2382) So i know you are going to get beat badly in this race by almost 5 seconds. You should have checked before hand accepting the race,he is doing it to steal your points not the $35 ($15 bet and $20 track fee) If you look it already has a few people betting against you.So it you bet it would take 15 from you and then would split the 15 to the people who bet against you.
  10. They say it is that much because they have tested it or is that a best guess over the phone?
  11. It depends on where the problem in the tps is, you would only have idle problems if it is shifter down a bit or damaged in one area.
  12. In the general maintance section i put a pdf of some of the cbest options for an rx which should carry over to many other cars to give you an idea. I think the auto lock is defaulted to being off.
  13. I love it when a newbie helps a newbie . :) But thoffen is ,right ,no code no clue.
  14. Hmm, i am just wondering what other problems you have had with your RX?
  15. Pick up the car, anyway you put it your neibour can fix it easy enough. I don't think you need to program the tps which seems to be common on the GS for going. Either way your neibour can do it cheaper .
  16. Saying it is where it should be is also another useless piece of info. As that is your experience that is telling you that opinion which is not working for you right now. So in order to get a good answer you need to provide exact details that seem useless to you but are critical in the overall evaluation of the problem. The brake light is red and looks like this ( ! ) Details like exactly where the fluid level is? Have you added fluid lately?
  17. Wax is fine for a windsheild i used it for years but rainx is much better. I think that page is referring to other waxes that build up and cause vision problems as a normal car wax will not cause any problems beside wearing out .
  18. When a Lexus dealer doesn't seem to be playing fair put there name out there and post it in your thread. I am sure more than a few people would be interested to know which dealer and service adviser is so high on their services. Dogbone is 2 bolts and 10 minutes. It is on ebay all over the place for about 20-30 i prefer to just use a metal washer inside the opening which reduces the play and the continuous replacement of the mount.
  19. It is easy to find out, just disconnect one side and get someoen to turn the car on for a 2 seconds. It will show you the direction of flow and is only about 25lbs of pressure which can be held back by your finger easily.
  20. It may sounds dumb but i find rainx is affected easily on my cars by hard water. Another thought is MR.clean makes a car wash thing. I would never use the system but it has a built in filter for just such thing for a spot free rinse. I would try the MR clean thing as it is easy to use. Also i find once the car has good wax the water spots just wipe off , or use meguiars final inspection or quick detail .
  21. glad you found it.
  22. Makes me not want to even add anything. But did you read the FAQ before you made your first post? If so ,what did it tell you?
  23. There are threads with the exact fix for your problem. You have common short in the trunk wiring.
  24. It may be a problem with them tapping the wires for the oem alarm. As the oem one keeps power unless you arm the system. So the power door lock receive the right power when the system is on. I would go to a good alarm/stereo shop and ask them if there is one in the car and if they could remove it. Usually about 100 to get rid of it.
