  1. because they tested it. Hell, I had to pay them $98 today just to look at it (remove the door panel)! I am not going to pay 10% of the value of the car to repair the drivers window. I will sell the car before that...and it only has 56k miles on it too.
  2. Well the Lexus dealer wants to hit me for a $802 repair...they say it's the regulator and motor ($552 for the part and $250 labor) :cries:
  3. I have a 96 ES300 and the drivers side windw goes down just fine but goes up intermittantly...sometimes stopping in the middle of raising. would this be a switch problem or a motor problem? Please advise if anyone has had any similar problem or if you know of a way to check for sure. Thanks all
  4. Can anyone tell me what the engine designation is for a 96 Lexus ES300 (3.0l V6). I am talking about the "ILGZE" or something similar. My son and I are heading to Hot Import Nights in Atlantic City today and I want to be able to speak to the engine vendors and not look totally stupid. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hey NeiLtYmE, where did you get that spoiler? What brand and how much? (if you don't mind me asking). I have a 96 ES 300 that is going to my son in a year when he gets his license. Of course he wants to "hook it up"...to each his own. ;) But I would much rather see your type of spiler on it than one of those 4ft tall stainless steel spoilers that you see on all of the honda's out there. If you would rather reply personally, my email is pwm72@comcast.net. Thanks Paul
  6. Thanks all, that's exactly what it was...low brake fluid. Man those sensors are sensitive, it didn't even look low, I just topped it of and problem solved. Great site! Paul
  7. Thanks for the reply Steviej. I will check fluid as soon as the damn snow/sleet freezing rain stops! I just wanted to be certain that it wasn't anything to do with the ABS..but you are correct, it is the red "BRAKE" light. The car was a great find. My wife is real happy with it (her driver). CARFAX confirmed the low mileage. I will register it at the Lexus site as well. Thanks Paul
  8. SOrry, but this is probably a real basic question. I recently acquired a 29,000 mi Lexus ES 300 (1996). It did not come with an owners manual. Today, the BRAKE light is illuminated on the dash. I checked the brake lights and they seem to be functioning properly. Would this be notifying me of a problem with the antilock? Any ideas? Thanks in advance - this looks like a great forum!
