  1. I would not try and compare an ES to a windom when it comes to emmision related parts as Asia has a totally different set of rules to play by. You may have only one wire on yours from the factory as you also do not have an EGR either.
  2. I am pretty sure EVERY Lexus has the compartment for the filter, some earlier ones did not have it installed but most all did. I know in the later 90 models it is usually easier to find behind the glovebox for access as my 98 LS is. On my 94 ES it is behind the carpet beside the gas pedal ,a real pain to get to . I also used an expensive custom filter material costing $30 ( i can make 2 for this price) instead of the Lexus type filter. It works great but is not a tiny particle filtration as the oem on .
  3. So you are saying that the computer has not adjusted for these deviances itself or is incapable of it?
  4. You can buy them cheaper on the web than the dealer
  5. Take it to a technition. I said "I would check your relays" then you asked me where and i said "SHould be under the hood in the fuse block area , read the descriptions of each one in there" I never said to check fuses
  6. Broke the regulator? The glass has come off its tracks, how did you come to the conclusion that a regulator is gone if the motor still makes noise? Open the door and seal it back to the metal base
  7. No problem. Original equipment manufacture, which is toyota/lexus. Always fits ,works and lasts over aftermarket.
  8. OEM all the way.
  9. The pump is not either on or off. Anyone who says that is a mechanic not a technition, very big difference. The LS has a variable rate power assist which makes it pump higher when going slow and slowly reduces according to the speed. When the pump is running it will cause the fluid to splash the dipstick ,but if you don;t see fluid in the container then you don't have enough
  10. Knowing exactly how much is a hard thing to know until you find out what parts you are going to use. Like i mentioned get the longest straight flow canisters you can .This will reduce the pressure issues while increasing the power and look. Also when you have a straight set of piping addded it will make it simpel to add a resonator later if needed as it will only need to have the pipe cut and the resonators installed in the same place but straight ones not a side inlet for a rear output.
  11. There is a module you can get i saw from some prius owners which allow you to work the nav and the bluetooth while in motion, sorry i don't remember the name of it or where but it is about $100 and taps a few wires behind the radio. It is locked out for basic legal reasons ,you can;t blame Lexus for that. You can only blame the thousands of idiots who loose concentration while driving because they are talking on a cell phone getting in an accident as the reason which affects all of us.
  12. SOunds like you may have 2 problems compunding on each other. Both are very common. 1 the MAF needs cleaning search under +iacv and/or +filament it will give your engine bad readings causign it to not run right. 2 is the reason why it dies instantly may be a dirty iacv but more than likely goes back to the maf being dirty
  13. You are so going to destroy the stuts by letting them bang around. Either the bolt will get streched or the stud will bend. There is supposed to be a rubber bump stop on the shock rods ,is that on there? Take it to a pro to get fixed from now on.
  14. Who ever did your brakes did not put brake squeel on the backing of the pads, nothgin else. Add it and it will stop
  15. I doubt it is an o2 problem as they are not working when the engine is in open loop for cold starting.Otherwise ti would start and run fine. If the cat is glowing you know you are gettting too much fuel. The only ways to get too much fuel is a bad plug ,wire, coil or an open injector. BTW you never wash an engine with the car turned off. You can spray the cleaner with it off but putting water and expecting it to not pool is just plain dumb.
  16. Anytime you work on an exhaust it is going to be louder than stock.
  17. Toys how does pulling the ecu fuse affect the mileage of a vehicle?
  18. :snoooorrrtttt:
  19. Anything over 20 on a GS looks like crap ,doing that is to only get people to say oh wow those are big rims ,while they laugh at the owner for perpetrating.
  20. search IACV
  21. If you can get a 95 or newer it is a better design. 98-00 have great reliability and a 5 spd tranny which gets great gas milage.
  22. CHange the fliud , if it doesn't work you are out what $20-30 ,you could actually add an inline PS pump filter in case there is any debris. Same ones i mentinoe for the 1mz trannies.
  23. Another poorly thought out thread title. Nothing like true Australian muscle holden SS.
  24. Fabric softener? It smells because you have mold build up . Get a can of bateria/mould anti bacterial spray from a auto store .It goes into the vent duct on the passanger side of the windsheild. You may also need to replace the cabin filter also as it may be moulded up also. Get a new stereo put in for a couple hundred.
  25. If the center nut is coming up then you have a problem. Either it is loose? Or one of the rubber bushings is missing and you need to take it back out again.
