  1. Piaa's are great and pricey but worth it. I have seen bulbs blow in pairs as some circuits overload a good bulb once the other one dies. It does that happen just not alot.
  2. The main connections to change are the - battery to chassis -battery to engine block -battery to engine head + battery to starter + battery to fuse supply + battery*( or main fuse location) to alternator no other points needed as it can create ground loops
  3. A grown man ................. nothing else to say about it. I should clarify my term ,when i say kid i am thinking teenager 12 and under is when maturity is non existant and is very well not expected.
  4. Are you sure you have an OEM DVD player?
  5. On the flipside of these stupid children and the lack of parental control there is a story of a Canadian who was in Florida another moron did the same thing to there vehicle going through an overpass. Problem was the rock smashed the windshield and imploded the young mans head. He survived but lives a life that he nor his parents deserve. I believe in respect ,show me none and i WILL reflect the same to you. Would i feel bad if i gave chase and the dumb !Removed! died , no not really as they also gave no thought to the well being of me and my passengers . Their fun would have been at my expense of my wife's, child or my own ...... The keying the car thing someone looking to get pummeled. I have had people dent my cars before right in front of me thinking it doesn't matter and say "SO what" when i call them on it. You can guess how that ends........
  6. Sorry to hear ,they might not be able to do anything right now but if this kid likes to do this alot they may be able to catch him from other complaints then it should be a much larger charge than public nuisance.
  7. There is no way anyone cant tell until you mount them then?
  8. The alternator is probably still good but gets messed up when the fluid leaks in it. I would fix the seal and make the catch can that others made .Then wait and see if any more problems with the alternator arise.
  9. The best bulbs are usually PIAA's then silverstars ( some people have problems with them but they replace them for free easily).
  10. The best way to troubleshoot an aftermarket add on problem is to contact the previous owners for ideas and any other things they could add to its history.
  11. are you keeping the stock rim ? If you are only increasing the width to 245 then it will be fine.
  12. It had a very good installer. I know a shop that does the same thing and adds it to the cluster for $$$$$
  13. You need to use the book to see the colour of the wire from the gear selector. Owning a few Lexus manuals i would say that you did not even buy one as they are very specific and in colour so they are the basics basics needed to read their schematics. A multimeter is all you need to find the reverse activation. Besides saying that the shop won;t allow you to watch the TV upfront is not a problem for anyone to override anyway just like you know to ground it . It could be done after you had it installed.
  14. DO you have a n aftermarket one or the Lexus one is giving you problems? Do you have more than one car key on your key ring? Change the battery in the key head lately?
  15. It must be aftermarket , you probably have a wiring short more than likely linked to an aftermarket alarm which the radar is also linked to . No car i know comes factory with a radar detector because of varied legislature across the world.
  16. I agree with you but i don't dictate the forum controls. Searching is a lost art to many .
  17. I would start by checking the main fuses and other relays you may have popped a few of them with the battery terminals touching or grounding out.
  18. Guys please stop quoting above posts just for the sake of it ,it becomes hard to actually follow new info and get to the point of the post. How much do they dim? Do they only dim when you use the turn signals ,other wise the car is fine? Did you check for a power steering leak who checked the alternator what was the load and voltages read from your unit?
  19. Ummmm i think you are jumping to conclusions leadfoot ! He never mentioned having a CEL on so reading the code flashes will provide no info for diagnostics. How often and long do you have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it running?
  20. I would also say your alternator is on its way out. Is your power steering pump leaking?
  21. That is a good possibility but his rca's run from the trunk lid down not along the side of the car. It should be no more than 4 feet of wire. I would also try a different rca wire.
  22. I have the cover on mine still also but it doesn't stop any of the sound.
  23. Can you race the engine to 4000-5000 rpm then it starts to stall or does it happen more the closer to that rpm range? Possible you slipped a tooth on the timing belt? have a malfunctioning in your fuel pump or filter?
