  1. CHeck the compressor make sure the clutch is engaging if not replace the compressor
  2. Sounds like you low on refrigerant
  3. Found out reason turn signals are not working right. Like I said JDM headlights purchased off e-bay. Just thought i could install and plug in the harnesses. Found out theses headlights need and adapter harness just for the turn signals. JDM headlights use 168 bulbs in orange strip at the bottom of light for parking lights and the 1156 bulb just for turn signal. US headlights intergrate parking and turnsignal with a 1157 bulb. So now I have to locate an adapter wiring harness to make my turn signals work properly. Anyone with clue to where I could get these or had the same problem ? comments appreciated thanks
  4. Purchased JDM Headlights off E-bay for 93 ES. Installed and noticed conections for turn signal were a little different. Instead of turn signals blinking at the side of headlight (1157 bulb normally) (Turn signal light is using # 168 bulb orange strip T bottom part of headlight. Is there anything that can be done to fix the fast blinking or get the turn signals to blink like when I had the original headlights in. Could it be the wire harness or just the headlight set-up in general because its from japan?
  5. Broke my timing belt and result was a broken lower timing belt cover. No other damage.
  6. Just an update. I did install the new ground wires. The difference that is most notoceble fo me is the whine from the alternator is gone and my system does not have that hine either. I agree that this should be considered part of a tune-up on an older model car.
  7. I just bought a greddy voltage stabalizer & ground wire kit. Figured I see if it improves anything. Anyway the voltage stabalizer is easy enough to mount and hook up. The ground wires mount on a bracket connected to the negative battery terminal. It has 7 wires attached. My question is where is the best location to connect the ground wires? Does it matter really? Thanks in advance. I have a 93 ES300 just in case it makes a difference.
  8. Just to let y'all know. Finally got the car runnin.. Replaced the AFM first of all. Thought it was the timing but it wasn't. I guess when I disconnected the battery the the ECM activated some kind of anti-theft system because like I said I would try and start the car and it would die after a couple of seconds. My buddy who is a very experienced mechanic put me on to this idea. He told me to use my remote and lock the car then use it to unlock the car. I did as he said put the key in the ignition and prayed. The car started. So anyone having starting problems this is a simple and no cost first step. Hope it can help some of you. Later
  9. The AFm is definitely broke. Ihave a new one on the way. Also I replaced all the vacuum hoses and cleaned the throttle body IAC valve and EGR valve. Another problem though while I was replacing the vac hoses I broke the red VSV. Does anyone know where to get one? Besides that I checked the timing and the marks were like 6 teeth off. I don't know how that happened because when I put the tensioner on the marks were fine. Tommorrow I will fix the timing and install evevything. I'm going to need a new red VSV though.
  10. I was replacing my vacuum tubes and the red vsv broke. Now I'm trying to find somewhere to buy the part from. I talked to the toyota dealership and the girl was talking like $100 for the part. I don't think she knows what I'm talking about. Does snyone know where I can get one and how much they go for?
  11. Still can't get engine to run without stalling. Took off Iac valve and egr cleaned both of them. Still nothing. Checked the afm and I think it might have an open circuit. Coul this be why my car is stalling or should I look into th fuel injectors or valve timing. Also can anyone tell me how to get a possible code off my car without the engine running? Thank you.
