  1. Are there any good websites that you guys know of for grills, orginal wheels, lights and other interesting products that dont look like total junk on an 93 ls 400? Most of the websites i find have generic garbage that isnt really for my LS or any specific car, I was intersted in making a few changes that would look good and not cheesey like chrome fender flares and mirror covers. Please let me know of any resources you guys may know of. Thanks. C
  2. I need 2 new O2 sensors and 1 new throttle position sensor for ls 93 ls 400 due to age. The dealership wants 940 and thats discounted from 1200, Should i buy OEM parts and just pay for labor a less expensive mechanic? I dont know much about cars so i dont know if i should worry about people who dont regularly work on lexus makes. Advice would help, thanks.
  3. I take my car to a lexus dealership car wash...they do a great job, theirs is automatic. I have the exact same car as his, should i be concerned?
  4. My 93 ls has gold badges, I want to change them to chrome because im taking off my stock rims(replacing with chrome) that had the gold trim and it'll look better. The issue is the front L in the Grill is thicker(deeper) than the back so the standard chrome ones on ebay wont work. The L is sort of imbedded in the grill. Any ideas on where i could get that thick L in chrome? Heres a pic.
  5. I'm not really in the market for a body kit, however if there was one that actually looked classey and did justice to the LS I might consider it a little bit more. Mine is a 93 and looks like its still 1993 (great condition), are there any kits that you guys recommend? Any websites that feature several? Any suggestions? Get Crunk C
  6. Hey this site is tight if you are interested in modding, at least I liked it. SK you might want to look into the turbo charge LS area. Peep that. http://www.lextreme.com/
  7. I have a judgement call. My friend here at SIU offers all sorts of good automotive deals to me but they're all done by students of the department for dirt cheap. Should I trust these dude to do a tune up, or should I goto lexus and pay a fortune?
  8. I dont know where my amp is and i dont want to go digging. Manual says nothing.
  9. No, different rim. I dont really know the dimensions of the rim itself. I bought these chrome 18"s from my friend with 245/40 tires already on them, currently I have the stock 16" rims with the gold trim from 93...they're a little tired. Anyway, at a glance they look pretty much the same, I really cant even tell a width difference and the diameter is identical.
  10. Im about to test out these wheels on the lex, the current Width of the tire is 225, I gotta see if these 245 will fit or rub. Basically a random question but I figure someone might know before I hit the lift...so whats up?
  11. Yeah I know what you mean with laser technology and things of that nature, still I'd like to get it fixed anyway. I drive low and slow most of the time so its not a need. I'll drop by lexus soon and see if I can find a dude who might know something. I was browsing that K40 site as well I think I'll drop them a call too. Thanks A lot guys Caleb
  12. Alright, since it was nice out today i just went out and got under the hood and back bumper to find 2 boxes...sure enough they said " k40 Three Band RemoteRadar Detector" and were obviously mounted by someone other than lexus...my next problem is how to get this to work right cause it seems to be on the fritz...any ideas what I can troubleshoot with it?? a ground or something?
  13. I figured it was probably not stock, however, the lights behind my speedo and tact seem to be...
  14. Hey guys, I own a 93 LS400, I've had the car for about 2 months and just recently what must have been an electrical problem resolved itself. My keyless entry and dome light both which I though we're broken/burned out from age started working coincidentally once warm weather started again. Today I was driving down the road and behind my Speedo a orange "Rear Radar" light turned on and the typical radar chirps happened(for the first time ever). Apparently I have a radar detector in the car. What I don’t know is why it just started working, and if it's stock (or was there a way to wire an aftermarket detector into the dash like Porsche) does anyone know anything about this? Thanks Caleb
