  1. The door lock does not have a transponder receiver in it only the ignition switch. Does unlocking the passanger door instead make any difference? Each door has its own MPX computer.
  2. You cannot make any improvement using the stock amp and only replacing the sub. It will sound like crap as the stock speakers are efficent while any good aftermarket one uses larger magnets to reproduce a crisper sound. You will also have a hard time in keeping the stock deck but gettting rid of the amp as well . The deck sends an unusable signal to the amp which is where you will have to tap the analog signal in a high pass situation. I may be wrong though on the amp and its signal.
  3. The main determining factor is who and how it was maintained. I have a 98 LS with 270 000 KM and it drives great , the most i have done is brakes and some bulbs that were burnt out. It drives perfectly still which i would be hard pressed to find in another car lexus or especially a domestic of this milage.
  4. If it does not move forward after reverse how do you get it to move again?
  5. 5 miles is not bad but atleast you know now and not after any prolonged time of excessivly thinned and dirty oil
  6. new octane would not cause a bad idle bad gas could though
  7. Goto last unreadPinned: ****this Section Is To Post Tutorials*** ALREADY DONE FOR YOU TO READ,NOT ASK FOR
  8. A ripped intake will cause problem on acceleration but under normal driving/idle it is usually fine.
  9. Anything else you forgot to mention you fixed or changed?
  10. The oil is a additive cleaner which is meant to be added right before an oil change. If it breaks down oil/grime/dirt/carbon then it can't be good to be kept in the oil. Also it evaporates at a low temp easily so it does not last long .
  11. you may have a bad injector a dirty tb ,maf or intake need to also check the rotors and cap
  12. I won't even comment. Here is a better pic As well as this one for kicks Ahh how i miss summer. If lex Fest is at NOPI this year i am there for sure.
  13. I would take it to a detailer and ask them to polish them with a high speed buffer.
  14. Most wheels will not fit any 95 and new LS because of the large 4 piston calipers. The stud pattern is correct. the offset can be used for that width of rim but you also need the center bore size . The only way to tell if the rim fits is to test fit its clearance from the calipers to the spokes.
  15. If you are following grooves in the road you probably have too much camber and need an alignment
  16. An immoblizer key needs the transponder in the head to activate the ecu otherwise it just turns over. As even if you break the igntion the car will not start even if you have a key copied. A starter cut off can be bypassed easier as you can open the door to disarm the alarm then break the igntion to drive it away. Or a copied key can be used to drive it away easier
  17. Those are the clips but also the metal backing plates held between the pad and piston?
  18. you should still be well within the emmisions warranty which will pay for the repairs.
  19. no imobilizer key just a factory alarm which should have a starter cut off if it is triggered when armed.
  20. ahh ,that makes more sense thanks for the clarification. I still would prefer to have decreased stopping distances as it takes lots of hard stops to actually wear the surfaces of the rotors before the pads
  21. It very much can have a huge decrease in performance and milage if dirty
  22. You can manipulate the tabs to fit our 9006 or 9005 bulbs The dual bulbs look setup looks like this
  23. Buying suspension that is not mated for equal performance is the old way of doing things. A nice coilover kit gives you everythign you could ever want and more. The basic is a good cheap kit to start with just let your wallet choose what is more easy to swallow.
