  1. If the brakes work well but it takes alot of pedal travel to make them grip you need to rebuild the calipers seals. it is an easy job as i just did mine and i now have brakes again . It is basiacally the seals holding the piston are old and letting fluid pass them instead of applying the pressure only to the pistons. I have an extra OEM set for my 98 LS front and rear $100 which will do all 4 calipers.
  2. Lock and unlock the car door with the key to make sure the theft system is not active. How much gas in the tank? Disconnect the maf and see if it changes. More than likely it is the crank position sensor ,check it for damage. I don't know where it is you'll have to do a search.
  3. Washers , now that is funny but scary. the LS 16's are the smallest possible ones made to fit an ls with large brakes even if it has the x factor clearance to fit the brakes. I know from experiance that you cannot even fit tape stick on weights on the barrel of the 16's without jamming the brakes.
  4. After rebuilding all of my calipers this weekend , i can tell you if it is pitted then buy a replacement as the piston cylinder walls as well as the piston. It might be cheaper to get a rebuilt caliper with new inner and outer seals then 2 new pistons usually around 60. I would never use compressed air as the hydralic pressure is more than enough but is such low volume it causes no issue. i read it in my manuals as well to use air but i don;t know any tech who does it that way beside a rebuilder .
  5. If you have auto up on all 4 windows so it has pinch protection it has the feature. I don't think the 300 ever had that option. Hold the key in the unlock or lock postion on the key cyclinder, if it does open or close for there then holding the unlock key will open them as well until you let go .
  6. I think you have a bad battery terminal or ground wire.
  7. Well atleast it will be looked into , more than likely they will take the car in and provide a loaner. The member in the US mentioned they HAVE to but that only applies to warrenty service requiring the car overnight that they provide a loaner. Unlike the US Canadian dealers are lazy and cheap , they have little in the way of customer service and the staff is not as knowledgable as they should be. If i had a wish it would be to get involved with Toyota's dealer network and help them revamp the way they treat customers and their cars as it really is lacking for a luxury brand. Leather couches and free coffee can be had at starbucks for less than an oil change.
  8. I got cheap and bought a pair of aftermarket sway bar links for $20 over the $150 from the dealer . It is an easy part to not worry about. Now i need to get rear upper control arms , front upper control arms , rear lower rods ,................ will it ever end. But i do have some great brakes !
  9. The HKS axle back on my 03 GS430 is pretty quiet and quite deep.
  10. The problem is the dealer and not lexus. Car wash and loaners is all up to the dealer , and the service advisor . lexus head office has no control over either. Sorry , i bought my first Lexus 10 years ago and they would not give me a loaner or wash because i did not buy it from their dealership but another local one.
  11. There are a few places that sell them but eltie is the cheapest , but please don't put them on a stock car.
  12. Not bad, The trick to placing them is to only pull a small strip off the corners eofre placing them down. Then when you like its placement pull the rest of the sticker backing out and press it down.
  13. How about the rear small one? I ask that because your post makes that much sense as if i asked where a small front light is . You couldn't tell me where the rear small one is , so how could anyone know what light you are referring to ?
  14. Jaw , i may spell poorly but if you want your posts to make some sense you have to take the time to make them logical. I still see no point in side gapping, as it seems no different than new plugs which would have made more sense if you were going to praise your experiment. To look at it logically you have not isolated and removed any variables . So the theory is null and void as it cannot be proved clearly , just assumed.
  15. 1 return temp sensor that needs to be cleaned by the drivers right knee. The rest monitor the vent temps with a sensor in the vents.
  16. Have to agree it was just a typo , pre 98 no Lexus had HID's . Putting HID's in a fluted lens causes the light to scatter and blind people.
  17. I know it works for 98-00 and should also be 95-97 . I have an extra set of rear caliper rebuild kits. i thought i needed more when i placed my order for all 4 corners. It is basically the outer piston dust boots the snap ring to hold the dust boot the inner piston fluid seal pink seal grease a new bleeder dust boots new slider dust boots new brake line gaskets X2 for all above This kit is all wear items for both rear calipers. I did mine this weekend in a few hours and the pedal is much more responsive after i made a few hard stops to brake in the pads again as the surfaces are mating properly now. The only thing to make it perfect is a new set of sliders. If interested let me know.
  18. Who is paying for the discount? Is it applicable to other offers or only MSRP.
  19. Just an update on my trunk fix, the car is quieter and the windnoise is so much less, also my trunk now closes with a thud . Also my stereo is much more crisp with higher bas notes. I also used the sub in the trunk to look for air leaks and i only have one tiny one in one corner of the trunk now. I love easy fixes. Not sure about rain as we had some crazy rain over the weekend and i was pulling off a tire at the side of the road so i got some water in the trunk from it.
  20. Where are they located?
  21. Could be anything , if it happens again get the wiring checked .
  22. How much money do you have?
  23. Actually , i will have to disagree completly with you SRK. Lexus designed the cars to perform well but not to there full potential. It had other major factors mainly being noise and harshness being a higher priority. They added baffles into the intake resonator as well as plumbing the exhaust in a way to restrict noise. A well made intake can produce 6-10% more power then add a variable ecu maf controller like the SRT one it will add another 5-10%. Stock specs are about 300 hp/torque so 10% is 30hp. On the GS and LS both intake and exhaust are extremly restrictive , they are designed well but not for power. All my mods on my cars have to be pruposly built ,first it has to increse gas milage by efficency then by its own nature increase the power. All it is doing is scavaging wasted power .
  24. $500-600 for bumper hood ,headlights, fenders and mirrors.
