  1. How do you lube these parts? I can see lubing the sway bar with some lithium whit grease and using the tube to spray inside the bushing. But how do u lube the bum stops and strut mounts
  2. SK, I think i found the filter is this it? http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/merchant...ory_Code=Inline what size line do we have 5/16, 3/8, or 1/2 inch?
  3. Here in NJ you are required to get a state inspection every 2 years. During the inspection one of the tests is a leak down test on you gas cap. They remove you gas cap and connect it to something that applies vacuum to the cap. This way they can test the seal. This because it is important for emissions and you evap system to work right. As far as performance I have never herd that before. Is it possible to post the article here I would be very interested in reading it.
  4. The toyota dealer by me does not have lexus parts and information in there computer. So when i go there to buy parts i have to hold there hand telling them what the toyota part is so they can look it up. so if it comes to a big job were they might need to look a digrams they might turn you away or charge you extra labor for the work.
  5. Check you pcv valve and make sure it is not cloged. you can do it your self it is very easy. Here are pictures from when i did it on my car. http://www.mjmautosport.com/how%20to/es%20pcv/ How much oil is realy leaking if it is not that bad i would just wait to it getts worse.
  6. i put the ContiPremierContacts http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...romCompare1=yes the 17" version becuae i run 17 inch wheels. i picked these for two reasons first price $92 that is insain for a 17s and second they got very good revews by many more people 11,853,440 people gave them very good raitings and for the money they came out way on top for me. look http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresult....jsp?type=UHPAS I have have them for about 3 months and i must say i like them. and this past month i thought they worked great in the snow. and dam do they blow the Bridgestone Potenza i had on befor and they are were much cheeper
  7. Sound like you amp is on the way out. One of the solder joints of the transistors that supply the rail voltage would do something like that. Can you get to the amp. If you could I would see about opening it and then reconnecting it. When it is not working taking some caned air turning it up side down and spraying the parts. this will cool them and the amp may start working again. if it does then you would be sure that it is the amp. Then start looking on ebay for a used one. You do not have to play music loud to fry an amp. Electronic equipment that generates heat like that can fail for no reason. Normal manufacturing defects in electronic parts.
  8. I am looking to find out the size of the post 3/8 of in inch or 1/2 in inch. i want to try and put them in my ES which is 3/8. i found a cheep 2005 RX330 headrest but want to make sure it will fit. also does any one know the IVORY of the RX is the same as the ES TAN leather? some strange questions but it will realy help me out if some one can go out size and check there posts.
  9. looks good is that pic taken in new milford nj ?
  10. speaking of heated seets has any one ever converted non heated seets to heated seets. i was pondering doing it but i have never done apulstry work and am kind of afraid to take apart my seets they sell elements on ebay that could be used http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33701 let me know if any one has done it i would love to know how so i would have the balls to do it myself
  11. how offten should they be changed? at about 80,000 becuase that is not cheep almost 400 bucks for the 4 of them or can you get away with just doing the first 2?
  12. Bought it used from a friend last year with 70,000 miles for 7k with all service records from the dealer
  13. there are places online that you can send your rim to that will fix crack and stuff like that. I have IS300 tires on my ES and the front fit with out spaces but the rear need them to keep the tires from rubing aganst strut. adding a 3/16 inch spacer fixed that.
  14. buy a vacume bleeder and suck out all the old fluid through the bleeder screw and replace it with new and then take it to another Lexus dealer and have them check it out and see if you can get them to fix it. also the most part that costs the most in replacing the system would be the abs unit. rather then new you can get them online for about 200 with a 1 year warranty that would save you a 1000 bucks or so if u end up having to have the job done.
  15. would not work. the sound coming from your cell phone and regular land phone is sampled and all the information is not there. what you here is only samples of the sound but you can not tell the difference using your ears. so if the cell phone could reproduce this encrypted frequency parts would still be missing and it would not work.
  16. i would have the tensioner and idler changed to not much money and while they are down there they might as well. if i were you i would buy the seals but only have them change them if they are leaking i have changed many seals that were not leaking and then they started leaking so i only change them now if they are leaking. Also these parts u are buying online are they oem or aftermarket becuae if they are aftermarket u might as well just let the shop get them.
  17. Y CAN U NOT CHECK IT YOUR SELF?
  18. anyone have a coment about this remote start? magnadyne carbine PLUS-6000 only 99 bucks http://www.magnadyne.com/index.cfm?MasterA...6&Web_CatID=167 has anyone used this brand?
  19. I would not try it that resistor changes the the fuel to air ratio that your engine runs at. you are tricking you computer to think you need a different air fuel ratio which could damage you engine. you got ripped on a 1 cent resistor forget about it
  20. look at the inside of your oil cap (turn it upside down) and also take a peek inside your valve covers. i dont really know of any other way without removing the oil pan. ← I thought the only way to check for sludge was to drop the oil pan? am i wrong but i thought by the time the slugde was making it to the head it was to late to do anything. I thought that the only way to catch sludge in time to save the engine was to catch it at the oil pan stage
  21. you will not see any cracks on the drive belt from the back. the cracks are on the other side were the ribs are. you have to get in there with a flash light and check the face were it bends back across a pulley. a belt will look new from the back but could be ready to fail. also that cheep belt fails and it will leave you stranded. no water pump and no alternator does not let you get very far. ← the serpintine belt runs the water pump on te Gen II? i thought it was the Timing Belt?? ← to tell u the truth I really do not know I have not actually checked but on the 100 or so timing belt changes I have done on various cars the serpentine belt normally runs the water pump. I will have to check all data and find out for u

  23. you pay 1500 or less for 19s with tires on them and they will bend the first bump u hit tire rack has good prices if your look at the service you get from them. when u buy your 19s from some no one and they bend and then do not return you phone call u will be sorry. tire rack has the road hazard protection u can buy that I have used 2 times already. altogether saving a couple hundred bucks after everything.
  24. I did and i am very happy with it :D check out the pic and my page that shows the making of it all My Webpage
  25. why have I read there is a separate drain for the diff. Someone said about 2.5 quarts if you just drain the trans and about 4 if you do the trans and diff. I also saw somewhere that you had to fill the diff seperately through a plug till its level with plug? Now I'm confused. ← take a look on my how to page i did a wright up on changeing the atf it is the third project down http://www.mjmautosport.com/how%20to/
