  1. got it used for 400 shipped and it was allready painted. it came unboxed because it would have been over sized if it was boxed so ups *BLEEP*ed up some of the paint. but for 400 bucks it was still worth it. my plain is this summer to bondo the kit to the body and have everything painted so I will have no edges. on a unrelated topic I am supplying a link to my Lexus ES 300 which has some good stuff done to it My Webpage
  2. ok I made some changes so if anyone has time check it out again. and spatel0169 I am in river vale Riverdale is about an hour away from me but I am always down for a project so give me an idea what u want to do and I will let u know what I can help u with. I also have access to a lift if u want to do any exhaust or anything also I love the computer in the car this is the 5 th setup I have done . you can check out on of the first ones I did in my other car my other car herehere. and one that I helped with also check my page again I made some changes and need some more ideas to improve it. My Webpage ← ← Yea i had some free time at work when i did that. i got such a laugh out of it i put it up.
  3. OK now that explains something. Lately I'm starting to get white somke at startup in the morning after sitting for about 6 - 8 hours. Do you think that this may be solved by just changing the faulty injector. I'm pretty well inclined in automotive work so I'm able to do that much or even try to diagnose it further but of course this is an engine i've never worked on. ← you could start by pulling your plugs and see if any of those plugs are discolored or fouled and see what cylinder is causing the problem. I agree with sk I think all you codes lead back to one problem that is in turn giving you codes. do not start replacing parts because u get a code and that is part of the circuit (like the nock sensor).

  5. I plain on keeping till it dies and I can not fix it my self. es300ed I think you wind noise might be from people closing the door by the glass and forcing it out of aliment over times. I do not know how to fix it but maybe someone can suggest something that might help u out
  6. just for you i added words on top take a look again and see what u think My Webpage
  7. I am putting together a webpage of many of my projects, one of the first projects and most important of them is my 1997 ES300. It is not done and many things have to be added but I am looking for some feedback of what I have gotten done so far. so let me know what you think about everything. what u like and especially what you do not like so I can make if better. Thanks for any input matt http://www.mjmautosport.com/projects/ES300/
  8. normally when the solenoid clicks it is ok. but many times the brushes that commutate the motor could land on a dead spot and you will get a problem like you are getting. fix is to change the stator which it seams u have done good job
  9. Down stream? The pipe going down is my down pipe. That turbo is plenty close to the exhaust outlets and yes it is real. Sorry, you havent messed with turbo cars much have you? Lag doesnt make you lose power, it will just delay it for a few rpms. ← I said not get much power because u are losing most of the exhaust velocity by the time it gets to the turbo because it is mounted so far away. your want the turbo as close as possible to the exhaust ports. and yea u will get lag a lot of lag with that distance u will be many thousands or rmp up before your turbo spools up. I commend the effort I think every car should have a turbo. if I were you I would add a nice oil cooler. the es oil already runs extra hot and the turbo will only help it to run hotter.
  10. There are ruber plugs under the car u could pull out to help drain some of it off. but use towels and start soaking it up because if u wait to long u will get mold. i had a grand pre that kept getting water on the floor in the rear. i searched for months trying to find the leaks. it only happen when it rained and the car was parked on a certin angle. after i found the angle i parked the car like that and it turned out it was a trunk seal. it was coming in from the trunk running under the seat and on to the floor.
  11. WOW 2 inches of water is a lot of water. well i think there are drains for the sun roof that run down the window and if they cloged it might back up into the car like that. but i realy do not know get the old hose out and spray it everywere leaks are very hard to find some times. i would sujest that maby you might have a ac drain clog but that only normaly back up on the pasanger side and just enought to make the floor wet
  12. it looks very good I must say but if it were real you wound not get that much power. you must have the turbo as close as possible to the exhaust ports. down stream like that and you lose most of the exhaust gas velocity and u get nothing but turbo lag and not much power.
  13. u are getting the same thing :chairshot: but there is nothing relay wrong with the design. the oil flowing over the head stays there a little longer and gets hotter. because of this the polymers can burn (polymers are the things used to make the oil multi viscosity) and those burnt polymers become sludge. use syn and change your oil every 5k and u will be fine
  14. if you have a jack and you jack up the front passenger side enough to wiggle under the car a little you cat wrap a wrap around you had and smack the cat. if you hear something rattling around in there it is bad. what has happen is the car has started to break up and is not performing it's duty anymore. when u go on 2 long enough trips and the computer detects this through the reading on the first and second o2 sensor being the same it will throw the code. if the cat was working properly the second signal would be lower and a code would no be thrown. o2 sensors do fail but in the hundreds of times I have had someone bring me a car with a code about an 02 sensor it is normally something else or something else that caused the 02 sensor to go bad. do u have a volt meter that measures on the 1 volt range. because if you do you can easily test the o2 sensor
  15. Took me about 2 hours for the entire job a alot of that was removing the old 3m tape (the bodykit was used 400 shipped to my door painted and everything) scrol to the bottom it is the last link
  16. All this talk about pcv valves made me want to go check mine. It took me a little while to find so I made this page to help out any one else that decides to go and look for it. http://www.mjmautosport.com/how%20to/es%20pcv/
  17. not to second guess your work but can you post you dino results? If you have infact come up with intake that can improve everything please share more information so the rest of us could benefit from your research. Many of the dino results I have seen when it comes to intakes are missing a lot of info like temp barometric pressure and humidity that make a big difference on results. also computer trends play a large part in there dino results when was the last time the computer was reset what has the computer had time to learn. The dino at the shop I work at is for emissions only and it can not be used to measure horse power, but I do have a way to measure it by computer which is the graph I posted before.
  18. i asked about the reverse question becuase it has been my experence that when you put it in reverse and u have a bad cv joint it makes a clunking sound and thats how u know they are starting to go
  19. how could u not find that funny? replace the wife everything is good :D and the light on my ebrake is connected to the foot pedal. and that cable directly drives the brake shoes inside the rotor/drum in the rear
  20. :D just replace you wife and you will not have these problems :D
  21. i have not had this problem on my lexus yet but i have a ford ranger that had a IAC problem and i removed the IAC and cleaned it out with gumout carb cleaner and it has been fine ever sinse. i do not know if this would work for the IAC but if you are going to replace it anyway i would try and save the money and clean it myself
  22. first mod was to rip out all the stock stereo stuff, the head unit, 6 disk changer and amp. then were the 6 disk changer was I installed a alpine 9873 head unit. well with the head unit in the glove box I need some way to change the stations and the volume on the radio. so I removed the clock and put an ir receiver in the clock and repeated the ir signal into the glove box. so now I can use the remote to change the stations and volume. Then I moved to were the stock head unit was. I made a fiberglass frame and installed a 7 inch vga touch screen into that spot. then I add a computer in the trunk on the left and on the right I fiber glassed a custom sub box. this was in the first week I had it. latest project is to install screen in the head rests and that should be done in the next 2 weeks.
  23. Was knocking in park as well. Loudness was proportinate to how much gas i gave it, and frequency of knocks related to RPM. Never changed oil myself. fortunately have the receipts from when it was done that show date and mileage. I submitted the last six months / 20,000 miles of records, (showng an oil change a month, on average every 3,600 miles) and the service manager is now saying it's a start, but he'll need records of EVERY oil change I've ever had since owning the car to qualify for a full replacement!!! I'll dig out some more, but is this reasonable? Who keeps receips of oil changes for three years?!?!? ← I thought it was a 8 year, unlimited mileage, goodwill repair for this condition. tell them it is not goodwill to jerk u around
