  1. Hey, Trevor, I guess living in a big city has its advantages. I just recently rented a Vanderhall Venice and added 2 photos to the mix, above. The fastest so far was the 2019 McLaren 570S, followed by the 2020 Porsche 911 4S Cabriolet, the 2014 Corvette. The others were all quick but the Vanderhall was the most "raw" - lots of noises, kindof like a cross between a motocycle and a kit car - lots of fun!
  2. Some of the cars I've driven within the past few years: Of course, all but one are Turo rentals.🙂
  3. I hope that fixes the problem. Please let us know how it turns out.
  4. There have been some complaints over the years but this site's severity rating is a 2. 14 Complaints: 2006 Lexus RX 400h Power Train Problems (carcomplaints.com) I have not seen many similar complaints in this forum. Did you scan for codes?
  5. Thanks, Mark. We have taken ours in for the few recall notices we received in the mail, so I am confident that there are no outstanding ones we need to take care of. However, those who did not buy their vehicles new should check, just as you mentioned.
  6. ...not quite the same here in San Diego at 65 - 70F during the day with low humidity. Rain is still a rare occurrence. Restaurants are open, definitely outdoors but I'm not sure about indoors. Some 65+ year old healthy folks are getting Covid shots but we're not there yet. We don't have blue tooth in two of our vehicles but I have Sirius XM music in my 2014 car. I can also hear it via blue tooth to stereo receivers at home (garage, family room, and gym).
  7. It looks like the lamp assemblies are different but the bulb and socket are the same for North America and Japan. You might want to compare the bulb numbers between the left and right sides. If it's just the wrong bulb, you can get the right one at any auto parts store, I would think.
  8. I believe you can view many different wheels on an LC500 at www.tirerack.com You can sort the wheels by weight, price, size, etc.
  9. Do you mean you want to replace the OEM antenna with a newer model shark fin version?
  10. Here's a handy list of best to worst all-terrain tires from Consumer Reports magazine.
  11. Check the cable connections to the battery's terminal posts. An alternator can't charge if the the connections are not good. You can also take your vehicle to an auto-electric shop. They solve battery drain issues that dealership mechanics cannot.
  12. I have something like this which comes in handy for pulling wire/cable. Southwire FTS1/4-25 25' 1/4" Steel Fish Tape Impact Durable Case Ridgid Steel 32886908569 | eBay
  13. Exactly what have you done so far? We've never had a problem resetting the digital clock in our RX.
  14. Thanks for the tip and instructions. I replaced the woofer in each of my floor standing Boston Acoustics speakers, about 10 years ago. The was very easy and fast. Later I saw videos about repairing, rather than replacing the entire woofer. I'm not sure if a true audiophile would repair the foam surround but in a vehicle that is not often perfectly silent, a repair such as this should be just fine.
  15. Perhaps an adjustment is needed for the transmission lever. In older cars, a failed neutral safety switch would prevent starting. I am not sure whether Lexus used such a switch in our RX400hs.
  16. According to rockauto.com, there are quite a few choices: 2001 LEXUS GS300 3.0L L6 Transmission Fluid | RockAuto You may want to compare to that available at your Lexus dealership, either locally or online.
  17. Typically if an issue surfaces shortly after doing something that could in some way be related, the issue IS related. Certainly, it's be work giving the nearby components a good looking over.
  18. Speaking of manually lifting the tailgate: I've been doing this every Sunday (to remove groceries without having the liftgate door touch the garage door while auto-opening) for the last 15.5 years and we've never had an issue with the door mechanism. Occasionally the gaskets get a bit sticky on very warm days but a light coating of silicone takes care of that. Now I don't know what would happen if someone tried to manually open the door as it is under auto-opening power.
  19. Have you verified that the cable clamps are installed all the way down over the battery terminals? Make sure that you cannot rotate either of the cable clamps. Also, make sure no wiring within your engine bay has been damaged by rodents. This is the time of year during which they like to make a home under the hood. I did find these other suggestions: So if by chance you have a pre-owned vehicle, make sure it's not a FLEET car or one that has had a GPS or other hidden battery sucking device installed in it. RX 350 go to page 148 of owners manual tells how to disable communication between key fob and vehicle- which over a number of days can kill battery. Lastly, if you have no luck, consider taking your vehicle to an Auto Electric Shop. They solve electrical drain problems every day and tend to be very good at this. Good luck.
  20. Are you certain that your 12V battery is fully charged? Sometimes a weak and/or old battery will produce various warning messages/symbols.
  21. Another possibility is the brake pad wear indicator. It's easy to test - if the noise goes away when you step on the brake pedal, it is probably the wear indicator, meaning it's time to have the brake pads changed.
  22. If you are not adept at electrical troubleshooting, take your vehicle to an Auto Electric shop. They deal with battery drains every day and many are VERY good at troubleshooting.
