  1. I peruse the maintenance manual every so often to see if formerly completed requirements are due again. I also keep a small notebook with maintenance description, date, and number of miles. An Excel spreadsheet is another option. Engine air and cabin filters are checked and often replaced in 10,000-mile intervals. Every time I change the oil (at about 5000 mile intervals), while letting the oil drain, I spritz the engine bay with water and wipe with a rag or paper towel. Then I spray Armor All (non-glossy) on hood and door, rubber seals, as well as the plastic interior surfaces, and wipe with a rag.
  2. Rear Spring & Shock Absorber - 2006 Lexus SC430 (lexuspartsnow.com) By the way, KYBs should be better than the Gabriels for the front. Did you see those during your search? I've downloaded an electronic service manual in the past. You might consider that or a used factory service manual if you can find it.
  3. Welcome to the forum. By comparison, the 2022 NX300's EPA rating is 22 city, 28 highway and 25 average. Keep in mind is that few owners mimic the EPA driving cycle, very closely. Our 2006 RX400h was rated at 33 city and 28 highway, and we achieved an average of 24-27 MPG. At the time, the non-hybrid version was the RX330 with a rated mileage of 19 city and 25 highway. According to fuelly.com, Based on data from 41 vehicles, 1,199 fuel-ups and 299,323 miles of driving, the 2006 Lexus RX330 gets a combined Avg MPG of 17.78 with a 0.21 MPG margin of error. As you can see, the difference between hybrid and non-hybrid in both cases is fairly significant, even though they don't match the EPA numbers..
  4. And with an LS430: Check engine Light on with three codes P0440, P0441, P0446 on my neighbors 2002 Lexus Ls430. I did a little research and (justanswer.com)
  5. According to this description of an AC Compressor replacement, the service includes a compressor, receiver dryer, and orifice tube for reasons they explain. However, the article does not mention the year of ES350. Lexus ES350 Car AC Compressor Replacement Costs (yourmechanic.com)
  6. Jeff, thanks for letting us know. Hopefully they will correct that page.
  7. Jeff, did you try clinking on the CONTACT button on the site to which the link is directed? (Metro Lexus) I do not have this update but wish I did. 😏 Dave

  9. Hello, Alex. You should post it in the Lexus Buy & Sell Area It can be found in the Forums section. Thanks. Dave
  10. How long was it parked? If you're out of town for more than two weeks, you may consider buying a "Battery Tender" to keep the battery fully charged.
  11. Have you checked under the hood for leaks? Is your fuel cap sealing adequately?
  12. A word of advice. Always buy OEM, if possible. I tried buying a low-cost aftermarket O2 sensor but it simply did not function. Heated sensors tend to be fairly expensive.
  13. Low-frontal area cars tend to have more windshield chips than do SUVs and sedans. Both my formerly owned Corvette and my current MX5 have had lots of chips. My insurance agent told me that they expect people to replace their windshields after some number of years, especially if highway use is frequent. HUD windshields are typically quite expensive to replace if not through your insurance. One thing you should never do is drive behind a lifted, huge tire-equipped Jeep or truck with offroad tires. Those tires tend to throw off marble-sized rocks shortly after someone moves in behind the vehicle.
  14. Side note: There are owners of RX400h vehicles on this forum who have more than 250,000 miles on their odometers without having to change the hybrid batteries. Prius hybrid batteries are regularly exceeding 200,000 miles according to an article about this by Car & Driver magazine: WE are still on our originall hybrid batteries at 134,000 miles and they are holding a charge just fine. In addition, the people at Motorcells say that you'll likely be able to get at least 200,000 miles of life out of your Prius if you take care of it and stay on top of routine maintenance.
  15. What code was uncovered when using the scan tool? I would think that there would be an airbag code.
  16. I have read that a scan tool that covers airbag codes is needed. Is that what you used?
  17. The first thing I would do is to peruse a maintenance manual and compare that to any records the previous owner has. The 2013 and newer GS450h represented a significant fuel efficiency boost but are a bit more to purchase.
  18. Our 17 year-old RX400h screen has no bubbles. Perhaps you should show your dealership service representative to see if it's something Lexus will cover.
  19. I'd say you can't go wrong with Michelin, Vredestein, or Continental tires.
  20. Great advice, Chuck! It looks like you used to have a Mercedes 300? I'll bet your Lexus was far more reliable. 😏
  21. Consumer Reports, which receives ratings from tens of thousands of owners, has consistently rated Lexus NX vehicles as better to much better than average in reliability. The 2022 model's cabin "is completely transformed, with a more modern instrument panel, a larger infotainment screen, and more elbow roon, as well as electronic door latches...." "The 2.4 turbo engine is responsive, a gas-sipping hybrid is also available, and the top-of-the-line plug-in hybrid is very quick." I don't see anything about a 2.0-liter engine but previous model years (up to 7 years ago) have been very reliable as well.
  22. Low speed pulsations typically indicate brake rotor surface excessive out-of-flatness condition or uneven brake pad deposits on the rotor. My guess is that the previous owner did not have the rotors "turned" (machined on a brake lathe). There is a chance that the rotors are too thin to be machined. The only way to know is to measure their thickness and compare to the "minimum thickness" that should be stamped or etched into the rotor. Any competent mechanic can do with without excessive cost.
