  1. That was good reading...thanks for posting the info!
  2. Great review, fasteddie... I recently attended the "Taste of Luxury" in Southern California and had a blast. I ended up really liking the Acura 3.2TL. It's a great car - different from my ES300, but still a fun car. I signed-up for the first group (8 am) and was able to drive the ES330, LS430, BMW745Li, Acura TL, and the Mercedes back-to-back without having to wait in line. By 10am there were small lines forming. By 11 am the lines were about 10 people deep. I left around 11:15 - after treating myself to the complimentary buffet! ^_^ Anyone that gets an opportunity to go should definitely GO !! It's a great time! JIMBO
  3. Hi, janedalin. Welcome to the club! Here are the directions right out of the owner's manual. For easy access to the owner's manual, you should register your car at lexus.com - it's quick, easy, and very informative. Here's the link: https://owners.lexus.com/lexusowners/ssl/no...th/Registration The HomeLink has 3 buttons and can be programmed to operate 3 separate devices. Prepare the HomeLink for programming by erasing all codes or the memorized data programmed by the former owner. Erasing the garage door opener memory Push and hold down the 2 outside buttons for about 20 seconds until the indicator light flashes. All memorized data will be erased. 1. Decide which one of the 3 buttons you want to program. Push and hold down the button for about 20 seconds until the indicator light begins to flash. While holding this button, follow steps ”2” and ”3”. 2. Bring the hand held garage door opener within about 25 mm (1 in.) of the button being programmed and push the button on the hand held garage door opener. The signal from the hand held garage door opener is sent to the vehicle’s opener. 3. When the frequency and code is registered, the indicator light flashes rapidly. At this point, you can release both buttons. 4. To program the remaining buttons, repeat steps ”1” through ”3”. If you want to replace an existing program with a new program, select the button you want to program. Follow the procedure from step 1. If the transmitter has a ”rolling code feature”, it is necessary to program the in–garage receiver after programming HomeLink. 1. Locate the ”training” or ”learning” button on the in–garage receiver and push and release this button. Location of the button may vary by the garage door opener manufacturer. 2. Firmly push and release the trained HomeLink button 2 times (some garage door manufacturer may require you to push the HomeLink button up to 3 times) to complete the process. The garage door should now operate when the HomeLink button is pushed. JIMBO
  4. I know exactly what you mean! I hope to keep up the care with this car. I kept my Maxima looking really nice and ended up getting over Blue Book when I finally sold it. The way a car looks plays alot in the final selling price, in my opinion! Thanks for the tips! JIMBO
  5. tundra-lover: I uploaded them to the Pacbell site (since I use Pacbell/SBC dsl) and then posted them on my webpage. I didn't use the gallery in the LOC forum because I wanted my family to be able to view them easily. nicksan: Question for you...how often do you use the clay bar? A couple times a year? Every wash? Only when necessary? Just wondering, since this is my first time ever using it. Thanks! JIMBO
  6. Yes, but do the women know it lasted less...? doh! DG
  7. am41932: Thanks for the nice comments. Glad you enjoyed the website. Believe it, or not, it's the first time I've ever used a digital camera! :o I'm actually not a high-roller by any means! I just always choose to stay (and play) at Bellagio. Every once-in-a-while they will send out mailers with deals on their rooms. This time around I decided to take them up on it! It was a great experience! Still, I'll have absolutely no problem staying in the "regular" room on my next visit! :) timmay217: The clay works wonders! Even when I thought my car was smooth as silk, I was still able to remove particles using the clay. It's just amazing! I recommend you give it a try. Here's a link to get you started: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...c=10431&hl=clay Let me know how it turns out! JIMBO

For the body: Mother's clay bar Meguiar's Scratch X Mother's Pre-wax Cleaner (phase one) Mother's Sealer & Glaze (phase two) Mother's Pure Carnuba Wax (phase three) Wheels: Mother's Chrome Polish DG
  9. I finally got around to taking some pics of my car! After a front to back, bottom to top detailing job I snapped some pics and posted them on my webpage. Be forewarned that most of them are basic and might be boring, but my Dad wanted to see as much of the car as possible! He lives in Ohio, so he won't be seeing it in person any time soon! :( If I play my cards right, I'll be making a roadtrip back to Ohio later next year. Let me know what you think! http://home.pacbell.net/jim1970/ DG
  10. 93lexuses: Little do you know. It's gotten to the point where he will literally bite our kneecaps (!) to let us know that he wants to play. He's a fun cat! Russian blue's are such characters and really playful (and nice) with the kids that come over to visit. Thanks for the nice comments, blake918 & 93lexuses! :D Blake, your dogs are great! I love the one with the doberman under the covers...good thing she's not spoiled! :P DG
  11. I finally put up a homepage. I put up some pics of my cats, if anyone would like to take a look: http://home.pacbell.net/jim1970/ DG
  12. IMO: best company is Verizon. best cellphone is Samsung a530. I believe they have a newer model of the cellphone, but I've been extremely happy with the model I have. I strayed away from Samsung for a couple of years and had nothing but problems. I went back to Samsung and it's been bliss! :)
  13. I love my pets! 2 Tabby cats - Buffy & Xander (brother & sister) 1 Russian Blue cat - Cinco 1 Black Tabby - Eartha Kitt-y 1 Beta Fish - Archie 1 Hermit Crab - Tommy2 (Tommy & Anika both died, RIP)
  14. 33 here...34 in October! :) 1989 - 1974 VW Bus 1990 - 1981 VW Rabbit 1991 - 1991 Acura Integra LS 1996 - 1996 Nissan Maxima SE 2004 - 1999 Lexus ES 300 Coach :) Slowly but surely I'm moving up in the world! Haha :)
  15. Hello... I've purchased a noise filter for my alternator to reduce the annoying hum from my stereo speakers. However, I don't have a service manual for my 1999 ES300. Does anyone have the diagram for the alternator and surrounding wires? My friend's going to do the work for me and needs the layout. Any help is greatly appreciated! I'm driving to Vegas on Monday and I would love to get rid of the "hum" before the trip! :) Thanks! DG
  16. I'm impressed! I really like it except for the grill and the Toyota hood emblem - it looks too high due to the larger grill. And what's up with the square cut-out to the left of the license plate on the front bumper? Seems an odd place for that... Otherwise, I wouldn't mind having one for myself! :) DG
  17. Mine does the same thing. I find that if I let the engine warm up (let the RPMs drop to around 800) it shifts into drive MUCH smoother. What year is your car? I have a '99. DG
  18. Hello.. My friend has an integrated key for a 2000 ES300. Does anyone know what type of battery it takes? I don't have the key in front of me, otherwise I would do the obvious...open it up and look. :P I want to have the battery handy so I can change it for her the next time I see her. I'm assuming that all I have to do is unscrew the tiny screw, pop in the new battery, then tighten the screw. If there's any other info I may need to know, please let me know. Thanks! DG
  19. I didn't wipe off the seats between applications. I allowed the leather to absorb the conditioner then I would go back and apply more. After the 3rd application I let in bake for a while then wiped the seats with a clean, dry towel. Most of the conditioner was absorbed so there was not very much excess to wipe off. DG
  20. That's makes sense. I think I'll stick with warming it up whenever possible. Thanks for all the help. I'm really loving this car more and more every single day! I never thought I would be as happy as I was with my Maxima, but this Lexus is really starting to change my mind! :)
  21. Sheesh - maybe I should actually proofread before I hit the "ADD REPLY" button. But I think you all get the point I was trying to make! :) Pleaze fourgive me 4 beeing gruhmatycally chalenjed. :D DG
  22. This is one of the BEST threads I've read. I've been cracking up since page one! Ya'll are too funny! It's group to see such a well-rounded group that's has a little bit of everything! DG
  23. Thanks for the advice... I'm not going to worry about it too much. I'll be going in for an oil change soon so I'll mention it to the dealer. One other question, though. Is it common for the RPMs to drop when shifting from Park to Reverse? For the past couple days I was letting the car warm up, allowing the RPMs to drop, while in Park then shifting to Reverse. Today, however, I didn't allow a warm up period and noticed that when I shifted from Park to Reverse the RPMs immediately dropped from 1750 to 1000. Normal? Thanks, again, for all the help! DG
  24. Wow! Morton's seems like THE place to go. Which is kinda ironic because there is a Morton's within walking distance from my house and I've never eaten there! Can you guess where I'll be going this weekend?!? :) DG
