  1. I use the Swiffer for the interior of the car, not the exterior. I know several people that use the "California Car Dusters". I tried it, but wasn't overly impressed. Here's a link: http://calcarduster.com/originalDuster.asp I haven't had any problems with the Quick Detailer causing any scratches and I've used it for about 10 years now. In fact, I keep a bottle & a couple of towels in my trunk - my parking space at work is right under a tree...can you say "bird crap"! :o
  2. Funny that he's whining about the $200 fee, but in the last couple of weeks he's spent $75 on eBay buying motorcycle accessories. Guess the next ticket will be speeding on the motorcycle! :chairshot:
  3. It's hard to find anything to repel dirt. Instead, I use Meguiar's Quick Detailer at the end of the day to remove any debris that has accumulated on the car. It's work well and has a nice smell! :) http://www.meguiars.com/estore/product_det...tailer&sku=A-33
  4. I have a 99 ES. The EFI fuse for mine is located under the hood on the driver's side parallel to the front fender. I used the schematic from the owner's manual obtained from lexus.com. The schematic is also on the underneath of the fuse box. The EFI fuse on mine is #18, double check to make sure it's the same on the 98: Document.rtf Hopefully, the graphic worked?!?!
  5. After reading several posts that suggested pulling the EFI fuse to reset the transmission, I finally got around to doing it. Wow! I noticed a major difference in throttle feel and shift feel. I'm amazed at how much better it feels. I had originally purchased my ES300 from an elderly (80's) driver who never took the car on the freeway. I had rarely driven automatics prior to my Lexus, but the shifts never felt right. Much smoother now! Many of the posts I read said that after replacing the fuse the driver went out and drove their car as fast as possible. Why is this? Instead of driving quickly, I've just been driving like normal, since I mainly use side streets. Is there a benefit to pulling the fuse then driving faster? Should I re-pull the fuse and then take it out on the freeway? I swear I love this car more and more the longer I own it! Thanks!
  6. You're welcome! Let us know how it turns out! :)
  7. Hi, Victor... I searched ink stains and came up with: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...wtopic=6498&hl= http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=10410&hl= There were others, but these seemed the most pertinent. Good luck!
  8. Great clip! Looks a bit like a Supra from the side. I like it!
  9. I used Autotrader.com also. Sold it to the first person that called. I was paid in cash as well! :) It's a useful website. Good luck!
  10. I would garage the Civic. If NY is anything like Southern California the Honda is more of a target than the Lexus.
  11. Nice choice! Looks very similar to mine! ^_^ What was the final cost? I'm sure your mom will get years of enjoyment from it!
  12. Before my ES300 "fell into my hands" last year, my first experience with the ES series was several years ago when I drove it at one of the "Lexus Experience" test drive events. I had always known about their excellent reputation and had been wanting one since they first came out. I really love the ES except for the interior room. I hope to be moving up to a 99 or 00 LS by the end of the year! :)
  13. On my 99, if I use the fob to unlock the doors but I don't enter the car within 20-25 seconds then the alarm resets and the doors re-lock.
  14. Oh, man! I'm so jealous!!! It looks GREAT! I know what I'll be saving my pennies for.... :P
  15. Very nice! Hey - how's the stereo install coming along? Got pics yet?
  16. 34 now...33 when I bought my 99 ES300.
  17. Hi, abart... You can access online owner's manual by registering with lexus.com. Here is the link: https://auth.owners.lexus.com/lexusowners/a...2fssl%2fWelcome When you get to the page click on the "register today" link. Hope this helps!
  18. Could you please tell them to drop one off for me, too??!!?? :P Please show the pics after you install. I wanna replace my unit, too! BTW, what's the model number for that? How much?
  19. I heard about those Malibu prices. From what they said on the radio it has broken a record for the highest price per gallon. Think I'll be staying in "the OC" for awhile. :whistles:
  20. Does this work for any type Lexus? I drive an ES that was previously driven by a elderly man who never went on the freeways. He only drove 13k miles in 5 years. How does one know which fuse powers the ECU?
  21. SoCal premium at Mobil is going for $2.45...yikes! :cries:
