  1. I believe they may use synthetic in the LS460. I always use synthetic, the dealers do have it and will use it if you ask, but the markup per quart is extreme so i buy it myself. I'd change it every 5k, that way you'll never have any issues with the warranty or at resale time.
  2. Wow lol
  3. Congratulations!!!
  4. The glass roof is a lot less likely to scratch than the paint...
  5. Not at a Lexus dealer...
  6. You need to quit. Randy&Bonnie began a discussion with you which, as you may or may not be aware, is the purpose of a discussion board. It is not a "sit around and read everything MB says as truth" board. You're the one who jabbed at him and made it personal, and he didn't take your bait (which I know pains him greatly and I'm impressed he passed on it) You need to keep discussions civil and impersonal or we're going to ask you to leave. Thread closed.
  7. I just paid $70 to fill the Lexus up, it was about 3/4 empty. YIKES!!!
  8. Ah HA, selling his eBook. Ba.....ba.....ba....BANNED! Now, thats not to say all eBooks are bad. I've created an eBook that will be very valuable to all you young upstarts. For the low low price of $50 you can have the secrets I've used my entire life to amass my considerable fortune. The eBook is called "How to get people to send you $50 for a book" PM me for info! ;) haha
  9. Newspaper works great. I use latex gloves to keep from getting the ink on my hands.
  10. Thats actually NOT an LS. If you look at the original body you can tell its not, its has LS headlights...thats it.
  11. Saudi Arabia is #3, behind Mexico: 1. Canada 2. Mexico 3. Saudi Arabia 4. Venezuela 5. Nigeria 6. Angola 7. Iraq 8. Algeria 9. United Kingdom 10. Brazil Source US Department of Energy
  12. I've driven the Regals, nowhere near as smooth or as isolated as the LS. There are very few cars in existance that ride as smoothly or as quietly as a Lexus LS...
  13. I don't get one :( Carla got hers and promptly squandered it. Good American! I told her to spend it on me but she didn't see the value in that. I reminded her that if I'd made an honest woman out of her she wouldn't have gotten one either...but she still didn't see the value in spending it on me haha
  14. That sounds like the DBW throttle. You get used to adapting your acceleration techniques to it. My Dad's 98 LS400 and 04LS430 do it too.
  15. They say "SportDesign"
  16. Yep, totally normal.
  17. No thats not normal. They'll take care of it.
  18. I would have somebody do it, its a substantial maintenance.
  19. The 02-06 ES is a good bit heavier than the older ones...
  20. I've had em on the ES and on LS' and the ride and handling are perfectly suited for the LS IMHO. Its not a handling car.
  21. The HydroEdge are not appropriate tires for the LS. For one the T speed rating is far too low, the suspension geometry is designed around an H rated tire. For two the LS needs a smooth and quiet touring type tire. I'd put the Bridgestones or the Michelin Primacy MXV4 on. I have the Bridgestone Turanza LS-Vs on my car, the tires they discontinued for the Serenity's. I'm happy with them, but really the quietest tires out there are the MXV4s. You gotta be careful about TireRack's ratings. The Serenitys are new so their reviews look a lot better than older tires, and the MXV4s are widely used as OEM tires so a lot of their reviews are after the car owners have replaced the tires, so they're of old tires whereas the reviews for the Serenity are of brand new tires. I find TireRack's ratings barely relevant. If it were my car I'd put Michelin Primacy MXV4s on it.
  22. Its a coating thats applied to the windows at the factory.
  23. haha, I owe you way more than that!
  24. My car is garaged at home and at work, but I do a lot of driving around during the day and parking different places outside.
