  1. My rates never go up...I simply use it as catastrophic coverage and have high enough deductibles to save me the appropriate amount of money and pay out of pocket for small stuff.
  2. You grew up ;)
  3. Nope, no hole and no tape deck in the non-nav ES350s. I had one as a loaner last week.
  4. I've tried a lot of different blades...OEM blades are the way to go. Also make sure not to buy them from a Toyota dealer. Toyotas blades are different.
  5. Actually I think Lexus did a great job ridding the ES350 of any trace of torque steer...
  6. The wheels really look great! Much better than the daisy-look 05-06 wheels.
  7. Randy & MB Put your dicks away...both of you. Its getting pathetic. Anyways I've detailed hundreds of cars by many different manufacturers, Lexus paint is soft but its by no means the only manufacturer who has soft paint and its by no means the softest. Its all relative. Harder paints are harder to scratch, but easier to chip and harder to polish. Softer paints are harder to chip but easier to scratch but easier to fix. Its all relative. ALL paint will scratch when drying with crappy towels or when washing improperly or with crappy wash media, no matter how hard it is.
  8. Yeah your rates are going to continue to suck until you turn 21, and then until you turn 25. Unless you get married, just a thought ;)
  9. Griots is great because its one stop shopping, and their catalogs are fun to look at. A lot of their products are rebranded though and marked up in price.
  10. So its tape when you have nav? Weird. Its not a blank space you can use for storage, its just empty plastic.
  11. I bet Acura will let you extend your lease a couple months.
  12. No experience with the Yokos. As for H rated, you're fine safetywise (where as it was a question with the Symmetrys), but I would never put an H rated tire on a car designed for V rated tires to make sure I'm getting the proper ride and suspension geometry.
  13. Your better detailing products, unfortunately, won't be found in stores.
  14. More likely it would just be blank space like it is in the non ML cars.
  15. Interesting anecdote. I had the Lexus in for oil change and rotation today $160 out the door. I also had the Prius in for the same service and the bill came to $80 out the door, my Toyota service rep said the service would have been about $15 more for the Lexus...So for that the Toyota dealer is about $65 less.
  16. With snow tires you'll probably be fine, in my experiece the LS is a pig in the snow with allseasons though. Of course, thats the LS400 and LS430.
  17. Well obviously, you bought one in black ;) Its not that it looks bad, i just personally don't think it looks best in black as the LS has before.
  18. I have absolutely never seen the need to use acid based wheel cleaners unless the wheels are neglected, and I would not use them on the graphite polished wheels on the UL ES350. I think Mburn was suggesting to just clean them with ONR. As for the wax, wax won't attract the dust. Its important to have a good coating on there so the brake dusts just rinses off.
  19. Well I have a Lexus 400h and a Prius and somehow I seem to do better than average on both cars. With my Prius I get around 52 to 55 MPG on the highway in the summer months with the AC on and driving 70 MPH, city wise my trips are real short usually 2 or 3 miles max and I only get 40 to 45 MPG city. As for looks, I like it and as for comfort, yea its no a Lexus 400h, but its not uncomfortable for me either. So much so that we often drive it on vacation trips of up to 400 miles one way. Longer vacation trips we take the Lexus. I looked at the Yaris and Fit, no way not comparable in my opinion and as for the extra cost of the Prius, just look at the resale value of the Prius and that will only get better as the price of gas continues to rise. Also to respond to your earlier comment about the Lexus Prius being an ES, well the dealer told me it is supposed to be a new platform for Lexus, not a shared IS or ES but something in between like I said in my last post. I just take a wheel dedicated microfiber and clean them by hand.
  20. It really depends on your commute. The reason our mileage in the Prius is so low is that Carla's commute is 2 miles. In the summer she'll get 40, in the winter it gets down to 28-29. Out on the highway we get mid to high 40s and if I drive it for a few days on all the driving I do in a day we get about that too. No we don't baby it but we're not lead footers either. The Prius is a neat vehicle, but I never want to drive it. We'll see. Dealers don't really have access to upcoming model data any more than you or I do. Knowing Toyota's M.O. I find it hard to believe they'd develop an entirely new platform for the Lexus line just for a hybrid. Much more likely we'd see a hybrid ES.
  21. The question is, what would they use the space for?
  22. Check out the detailing forum, tons of good info and opinions in there.
  23. I'm almost certain its the tires in both erb and tcb's issues. The Michelin Symmetry is a fairly crappy all around general use tire with a T speed rating. Replace the tires with a really good set of V rated touring tires (Michelin Primacy MXV4 would be my choice) and you will see a huge improvement in noise. Same goes for the HydroEdges, those are too aggressive a tire for the LS.
  24. Hard to tell in those pictures but I'm sure you're capable of telling the difference between felt and vinyl ;) Let us know how it works!
  25. Those things are a bad idea. Not only are they ugly but they interfere with the natural brake cooling...I'd pass.
