  1. I'm looking for a hitch to install on my '09 GX470 capable of only 500lbs (hitch hauler to put my generator on). I am interested in the OEM "Pintle" Hitch that is on Sewell's website since it seems simple (Really Class IV?)and well concealed with the factory trim cover: http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/Towing/GX470-2009/4229.html Has anyone installed this hitch? I'm curious if the entire bumper cover has to be dropped/removed to access the front bolts...? The bottom bolts seem simple enough since I seem to have a factory place there already. Thanks.
  2. Does only the Navigation equipped 05-06 models support bluetooth/sat radio? I'm guessing the non-nav in-dash cd changer doesn't support either options?

  4. That's understandable I suppose; still have not decided what to do yet.
  5. My wife has an '04 ES330 that has been relatively reliable and I now need an SUV so I began looking for pre-owned 4Runner Limited models. What I found is an '04 GX470 with 80k mi for cheap so that peaked my curiosity. I've researched the GX here and see that is has the same type of drive-shaft clunk that the 4Runner has, but since the power-train warranty has expired on the GX that is troublesome. Furthermore I see what seems to be problems with the pneumatic suspension on the early year GX. Anyhow, I figured I would get the opinions of current GX owners to see if they'd recommend the vehicle or not in regards to reliability... So what do you guys think about your ride?
  6. Hrm, I think I'm going to replace the power steering fluid first myself, if that doesn't work then I guess I'll have my dealer take a look even though I'm not looking forward to that day. lol I will report back here in case anyone else develops this problem down the road. She has around 118k on the vehicle at the moment.
  7. Fluid level is correct. Probably the pump I guess, though the steering behavior is normal at > 45F
  8. Just as an update, the new servo started making noise again today. :(
  9. :D I was able to successfully replace my bulbs, but in retrospect I wish that I had ordered enough bulbs to replace them all while I had the controller partially disassembled. Only one of mine actually looked to be blown, but I replaced two anyhow.
  10. Ok, so the weather got crazy cold recently and my garage isn't heated. Needless to say, I haven't gotten a chance to try the bulb swap yet, but the forecast looks good starting tomorrow so I plan to get this done finally; at the very least to get the bulbs off of my desk.
  11. If memory serves me correct the servo cost me about $140 + tax/shipping depending on where you order it from. I can't find where I wrote the part number number down, but I should have it around here somewhere if I didn't throw the paper away by accident. In my particular case it was the front passenger side air-mix control servo / damper, I could most easily manipulate the sound and actually watch it move its plastic arm when adjusting the pass side temp control setting to the extremes (max hot / max cold) with the controller in auto mode. The sound was present during normal use, but that's how I could make it worse in order to track the sound down when trying to determine which servo was making the noise. According to the dealer I talked to there are actually three servos for the A/C, two are located on the pass side and one somewhere else. Luckily only the one has made noise for me thus far, but from what I've read from the GS owners they have two that usually go bad... :( http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=53999 Plenty of threads from RX owners also: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=21392
  12. So far so good as she hasn't noticed the noise since I replaced the servo.
