  1. Congrats guys! The new RX is growing on me, I'm going to get out and drive one as soon as I get the chance.
  2. It can be schitzophrenic at times...
  3. I had my Primacy MXV4s installed for about $550. The trick is to buy H rated tires, not V rated. The Vs are way more expensive and the H's are actually softer and better riding. Shop around too, places sell the Primacy;s for a huge markup, look on TireRack and either order from there or negotiate to that price with whatever shop you choose.
  4. Very easily set up yourself using the procedure outlaw posted. I set mine up right after I bought it. Other things can be set with LPS, but thats something you can do yourself.
  5. Very impressive, well done
  6. I think you should excuse yourself from this discussion Randy...your posting has completely derailed the original intent of nc's thread. Now that its gotten racial, I think its time for you to bow out. Thats not a request. jcrome, The Special Olympics joke was a gaff, its something you or I could have very easily said, and something we do say privately. People make gaffes. If you really think he has some sort of issue with retarded people...thats a joke. You don't like him so you're going to pretend its something much more than it was...as Sarah Palin did. Find me one President who has never made a gaffe like that...there isn't one. Anyways, I think he's doing fine. I rather like the fact that he's traveling around to meet and talk to people and doing things like going on Leno and publishing his brackets, etc. I think its very refreshing after having such a closed and detached administration to have one thats as accessable to common people as Obama's is. What people have to realize is this country is in the process of being handed over to my generation. In my generation leaders aren't as seperated from the rest of the group as they are in older generations. For instance, I have the CEO of my company's cell phone. I've had lunch with him. Our manager comes out to happy hour with us. Times have changed. I personally never felt he bashed AIG when on Leno at all... I'm not quite sure what people expect from him. He's not a magician, but he has done more in the last 60 days than I can remember any recent president doing in their entire first term. He's shown that he's going to try and do the things he said he was going to do, and I think some people just don't know what to make of that because we've not had a president that has moved right into his agenda the way Obama has before...
  7. The reason you see everyone using a PC is that the Flex is new to the market. I haven't read a statement from anyone who has used both that says they prefer the PC. As for wax, the P21S is a pretty good wax. What are your goals? Do you want better protection or a better look? White is tough. I might even try a true sealant like Zaino and see how I like that.
  8. Pressure washer should be fine...
  9. Believe me...thats not true. Many people use automatic carwashes with all types of vehicles, and most of them are brushless meaning they use cloth. Now I'm not saying automatic carwashes aren't bad...they are...but they aren't as you describe.
  10. Is this your first light colored car? It looks like pretty classic rail dust contamination to me. Do you live near or routinely drive near a railway line? What happens is tiny peices of iron are sloughed off when a train runs over the track, this dust bonds with the paint and when it starts to rust it creates spotting like that. Regular claying of the paint surface will remove those contaminants before they rust. Cars are also always covered in this stuff when they are transported by train. A good detailing MAY remove much of your problem. The rock chips will rust, and in MI the vehicle would be covered by corrosive road salt much of the winter. How often do you wash the vehicle and does the vehicle sit in the garage in the winter? Do you hand wash it or use an automatic carwash? What kind of soap do you use when you wash it if you wash it by hand? Salt is actually not corrosive when its below freezing. The issue is however that the ambient air gets above freezing in a garage. I would be mystified that you would have corrosive rock chips like that unless the vehicle sat in higher than freezing temps covered in salt for extended periods...
  11. There is no 2006 ES350. Is your car a 2006 ES330 or a 2007 ES350? It matters because there is a service bulletin for the ES330 for this issue... Its not at all uncommon, its caused by warped front rotors which can be caused by oveheating of the brakes, improper torquing of the lug nuts, etc. It is not a warranty issue really at 45k miles, its a common wear issue. The vehicle probably needs new front rotors. This has occured several times on my ES over the years, as well as on other cars I've owned.
  12. Yep, needs to be reset, happened to mine too on the same window.
  13. I would (and did) put a set of Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires on this car. They are by far the smoothest and quietest tires I've had on this car including an older set of MXV4+'s, the original Bridgestone Potenza RE92s, a set of Bridgestone Turanza LS-Vs, and a set of Toyo Proxes TPTs. They've gotten smoother and quieter as they've worn in. A little more expensive than the Exaltos which I also considered, but uni-directional and better treadwear. I wouldn't even consider those Bridgestones...
  14. The IS is pretty sporty...have you guys driven one? It can be had with a manual...
  15. I've never leased a Lexus and turned it back in... However the times I've been around my Dad leasing cars and turning them back in the credit card rule is what they used...
  16. No, its actually a scent in a little air freshener spray bottle. They also have a new car now but I haven't tried that.

    I'm Back!

Congrats, she looks great! You're tempting me to go out and buy that 06 LS430 I've had my eye on! ;)
  18. Phil, If its an L that makes sense, I was going off the "LS460" in your profile, you should change that to "LS460L" ;) NoSpin, You can absolutely calculate dealer holdback on your own, Google "Dealer Holdback Lexus" you'll find that Lexus' dealer holdback is 2% of the base MSRP. So on a $58,000 LS460 it would be $1,160. It can be found on edmunds, carbuyingtips.com, etc. I agree that you should be armed, but I hate to see people spend money on things that they can very easily figure out themselves.
  19. I would say fraud,...or just an incorrect price.
  20. Lexus has had an air suspension option since 1990 with the first LS. Its an option though, and in the LS430 if you stay away from the Ultra Luxury (UL) package your LS will have standard struts and not the air suspension. The way to make sure it to look for a switch on the console for the suspension. The normal suspension car will have no switch...
  21. It just all depends on what you want out of a car. For me, the LS is the perfect car and I truly enjoy driving it, as I do my ES. I find excitement in how damped and perfectly isolated everything the cars do is. But, if you like a sportier car then its not for you...
  22. My guess is you're going to have to replace the screen or live with it. You could try an anti-glare stick on shield and see if that hides the scratch?
  23. You can calculate the holdback on your own. I wouldn't pay for a report, its all data you can easily gather on your own.
  24. I would buy the '04, personally. I think the styling is much better, more aggressive. The 04 has the 6 speed auto. As for identifying trim levels, read around here lot of discussion on the subject. Its a great car! Big upgrade over the Buick ;)
