  1. Sorry that was supposed to be "decomposing leaves" Can anyone point me to a link to take apart my tail light to clean and seal them? 2004 LS
  2. Any particular year or color? Of course closer is better but will you pay to ship?
  3. Sorry if I misled. The battery I have works it just does not fill the battery compartment. (seems small) So I was considering chaning it out because so much of what I love about my car uses juice! Thoughts?
  4. Hmmmm Verrrrrrry Interesting!!!!! (as ARTE JOHNSON used to say) Call me a sucker but being in Florida I go to the drive in Sears and get a Diehard... they are all geared up to get you in and out FAST and easy to make a claim if they die before their time! I noticed my original battery was replaced by the first owner it seems undersized... I am contemplating replacing it so I do not have a repeat of the "Great Battery in the Fan Blade disaster of 1977" when I let my boss hop on my 1970 396 Chevelle SS around the block and the bungie cords did not hold and faster than you can say "Where is the short?" The engine had a refreshing acid bath! So Dealer Battery or Sears Die Hard Gold?
  5. Thanks for the great replies... I do have NAV and wonder if anyone else has seen them stutter or stop. My 2004 does not have 30K yet and I wonder if there are folks out there with 100k that have had them going back and forth the whole time? And introducing a new standard ending to all questions relating to fixable items. HMTR? (how much to replace)
  6. It seems when I bought the car the two center vents which go back and forth went further in their travel... I may have made the mistake of adjusting them when they were on... And at times one will move while the other won't... They start to move and then stop... What is the story? Another Bell and Whistle destined to break? Is there a way to reset them? So they "full travel" again?
  7. Thanks Fremantel, I did your reset "maint reqd" trick and it worked like a charm... I still wonder if I need service...But if something was WRONG wouldn't another light come on?
  8. Hi Folks me again. Bought this car with 26450 miles now 1000 miles later the exclamation mark is blinking. I did do the transmission recall and plan to take it back to my friends at JM Lexus here in South Florida. I am in a carpool and drive 80 miles every other day and wonder do I need to run to service or can I wait a day or week or two? The cars is driving like a champ I am just usually am an ounce of prevention guy so I have no problem getting it in sooner than later what happens in the 30K service that could cause this? Remember I am driving an 04 and it should have hit this service milestone in 2 years not 5. Should I just hit the Autozone for a quick reading? Where is the interface on these marvelou$ machine$?
  9. Love the stories though! Keep em coming! :snoooorrrtttt:
  10. Sorry, I had to laugh. How do you "sport shift" in an LS? It's an automatic for crying out loud! Excuse me- I thought when you slid over to the S position on the shifter you control the shifting, My wife has a TL with the same thing! Am I wrong? I was more p*ssy footed (in my 04 LS) than I care to admit (I might have peed a little when I heard the V8 ROAR and I started thinkin about ruining that sweet leather) and another big factor is that I was on the inside making a left and then attempting to jump on it, instantly fearing that the centrifugal force could push me into him. So I straddled the shoulder but let up while he just continued his "punch it pass move" with nothing but 2 lanes to his right and me a car length behind on the left. It definitely seemed like a newer Accord with a V6 but it seemed easily like he had 1000 pounds less car. Thanks for all the tips. But I think I would rather have a longevity trophy!
  11. Ok so I pull up to a light to turn on a freeway and an Accord is next to me. We are both turning left and I figure I SHOULD be first in the forced merge ahead to one lane. I gun it a little but damn if that little Accord with a V6 didn't zip right by me... No I was not sport shifting or really even pushing that hard- but enough excuses I pushed the button on my rear "shame blind" and sunk in my seat. Also I was originally attracted to this car with all the "I have 100k with only gas an oil stories..." Now I see the maintenance schedule is every 5000 miles! I am coming up on 30K should I just get the oil changed or "find another car payment" so the dealer can fill the windshield reservoir?
  12. Thanks for letting me know I am NOT completely crazy and I did not get the only one built this way!
  13. Hate to complain folks love my new 04 430 Cloudmobile- But in the right rear wheel well there is a rubber or plastic backed shroud (missing a bolt at the bottom so it is loose) and I am feeling this thing sayin why are they using the trunk liner material in the wheel well? I don't want to drive it in the rain not to mention mud or snow. I have been impressed with the build quality overall finest fit and finish I have ever seen but what goes on here? P.S. BONUS QUESTION (for UFC 30 II ninjas ONLY) My 04 was built in fall 03- Yes I have a new fuel pump yes I have a new tranny... Is there anything else that would be in or out of my model before the 04s were made in 04? From what I gather I could possibly have PCS - I just am too afraid to test it! B) :P ;)
  14. Yes I am curious too. I have some mileage discrepancies I cannot explain either. Carfax says that my mileage was at some point reported as 35,000, Lexus service shows work at 30,000- When I bought the car the dealer said that carfax may have transposed a number (a 3 instead of 2)... Definitely one of those things that make you go Hmmmmm moments! Is there any visual inspections that could prove its under 30K? (I just hit 27K) :o <_< I have a call in to the local dlr about reprograming the mileage. I had it through state inspection 2 weeks ago so the mileage was documented then. Waiting for the service advisor to call me back. We'll see what he has to say when he calls back. Brian
