  1. :P Do a search for swaybar bushings, I think some guys have had problems with these being worn out and causing similar problems :P It could be shocks as well from the sound of it.
  2. Is it hot glue to mount the k40 components? Take a pic! :P
  3. :P Yes our cars are high compression, although not high enough to need the 110. The times will tell ya, if there is any benefit, which I don't think you're going to see. :P
  4. Or as a last resort you can join the lexus gold club, and use one of your many kewl stickers and apply over the discoloration. :D
  5. Well since your wife is so handy with the nail polish and acc, you should make her touch it up with her dizzying assortment of nail polishes that I'm sure she has. Why is your wife painting her nails in the car? Is she that bored? hmmm! To answer your question, yes, you can repaint it. Depending on your skills is how good it will look. I think you may be able to pop it out with out removing the whole consolE. I would try that new FUSION paint at walmart, specifically for plastics, next time you and the wife are out buying new nail polish :P
  6. Check your battery connections and doublecheck all fuses under the hood and on the drivers side. Does the car start fine? :o
  7. Yes, first make sure the switch on the dash is flipped to ON! :P
  8. :P Pull the ashtray out and I think the upper ac vent panel needs to come out as well. It should be kind of obvious from there. Or you can take it to a stereo shop and pay them a couple bucks to pull it out for you. Watch them and you'll know whats up.
  9. There is a short with the speaker (wire). It needs to be replaced. Hey your in Atlanta. Check out www.seloc.net as well for answers. ← If it's all factory it may also be a blown speaker, however if anything has been changed in the door then it's probably the terminals or wires shorting out from some mickey mouse job someone did. B)
  10. Hate to tell you this FRAM is crap and their filters have been proven to be time and time again. The walmart brand filters are better than FRAM, just check the specs on the side of the box or do some research on the net, you'lll see. I belong to 2 other boards 300zx and Suzuki Hayabusa and we have seen coountless problems with FRAM FILTERS. Stick with stock. B)
  11. 110 race fuel is a waste of money and fuel in a stock GS300. Anything higher than 93 in our cars is wasting money and resources. Higher octane fuels are for turbocharged and supercharged, or higher compression cars. Octane cools the combustion chamber therefore allowing more boost and preventing detonation. B) Too high an octane will actually hurt performance.
  12. Sometimes! Generally oil & air filters, that kind of stuff, probably. I've bought other things for my Lexus that came "in a toyota box" and called Toyota on it and they had no listing for it. They're a division of the same company, but the numbers mean everything. :P
  13. I've had pretty good luck with Megan Racing. I got a set of their downpipes and midpipes for my Z. It's decent stuff at an affordable price. It will just bypass your mid cat. You still have precats up front, so emissions should be ok. Although I'm not 100% sure. :P
  14. It could be any number of things. One way to narrow it down is to try braking with the car at idle. If you don't hear any static then it may be something in the cd mechanism itself. :whistles: It could also be something loose, such as the amp. More than likely it's a ground loop or potential difference of some kind.
  15. Yes, and that is something else I may do as well. From 90-98 is LED's, then Lexus converted to cold cathode. B)
  16. Sound like something associated with the pedal is loose. Crawl under there and see if everything is tight. check everything. Maybe try some dynamat in small strips if nothing else comes to light. I think it's something the dealer should take care, maybe try another dealer. Also make sure the exhaust is tight, sometimes it will cause all sorts of vibrations, or if any rubber mounts are gone or worn out. :P
  17. I posted some pics previously of some I did. However, there were hotspots. I found a way to get rid of the hotspots and I'm gauging interest for a complete set of LED's for the 93-97 GS300, very bright, with no hotspots available in superwhite, blue, or green. I'm estimating price to be around $130 or $140 with instructions and shipping included. It will be something just about anyone can do. Plus LED's last for about 11 years and are alot brighter and use alot less power as well. It will save wear and tear on your clusters, as alot of us know the bulbs get very hot and have been known to cause cluster failures. LED's emit no heat. So let me know. I'll post some pics of the latest ones I've done very soon. :D :P
  18. Hey and Welcome, I use mobil premium with a fuel injector cleaner every other tank or so. The owners manual recomends 91 or higher, I believe. You don't really need to use a fuel injector cleaner with mobil gas as it has techron. The higher grades just have more techron. :P
  19. Each of the sensors are about $120! Repace them yourself they're not hard, unless they're really siezed in there! Disconecting the battery will reset the light , once you fix the problem!
  20. UH BEAVIS, 1991 is totally different setup than a 1999!! You will have to ship the ECU out and have it reprogrammed! They charge about $100 on ebay! Also you eill have to buy a new key or keys to send with it to be programmed! Good luck!!!
  21. Forget that! Go with a 12, drops right in! You will have to drill new mounting holes ;) I used a us amps amp for the bass and a cove woofer, sounds awesome! all freeair with no enclosure, and plenty of dynamat!
  22. I have the injen on my 93 gs300, made some improvement. But I also did CB exhaust as well. It was an easy install, the main bracket didn't line up with the bolt hole on the fender, but I was able to fix that.
  23. See my previous post for all the info. Now you can safetly convert your yellowed dash lights & ugly green climate control lights to different colors. When doing the conversion on my own vehicle, I noticed many of the bulbs were brittle from the heat of the factory bulbs. The worst were the darker colored bases in the climate control, as they retain more heat. LED's draw alot less current meaning no heat and less wear and tear on your guage cluster electronics. We know the leading cause of needle failure is heat related. LED's also last about 10 years, are brighter and will dim with the factory dimmer. The only drawback is there are some hotspots as LED'S have a hard time dispersing light evenly. We also know the dash bulbs are not easy to find, except from the dealer. My conversion complete with instructions, and phone support, if needed will be $110.00 for 8 brand new converted LED's. This is enough to do the dash you will need 8 more for the climate control, another $110 or $220 for everything including shipping back to you. If you send me your 8 bulbs unbroken from your climate control, you can save about $70 on the climate control conversion. I have red, blue, green, superwhite, ultraviolet, others colors can be gotten with prepayment and additional time. the pictures don't do the LED's justice. If you have any questions email me at jaeleb2001@yahoo.com. I will provide complete instructions, so everything will go smooth and easy. Here are a few pics! :D
