  1. Hey all, Sorry to beat a dead horse. I've looked through old posts and still have a couple questions about getting a new remote key. Obviously the better way (cheaper) to go is buy one through ebay or a dealer that sells them cheap then program yourself and have it cut. In reading the posts, there are references to a Master key and Sub key. I only got one key from the place I bought my 99gs3 from. Posts say I need a Master key in order to program a new key. So my question is how do i know if i have a master key? TIA, Sizzler
  2. Thanks for the help guys. I think I'm gonna replace the shocks. Any thoughts on the bilsteins, kyb's or L-tuned? Looks like those are my major options. Sizzler
  3. Hey all, I know this may be a bit vague but I've experienced a problem several times with my 99 gs300 and I'm not sure what the problem is. Basically here is the situation. Driving on a curving downhill slope about 65-75 mph. At times the car starts to undulate forward then back and keeps getting worse (harmonics?) It gets really scary as the undulating gets so bad I feel as I'm about to lose control of the car. Braking will cease the rocking motion, but it just starts happening again at the next curve. Any ideas on what this might be? I was fairly loaded down at the time. bad shocks? Thanks. Sizzler
  4. On a side note to that paint... I believe Toyota may have used some bad black paint as my friend's 2000 Corolla looks like it's 50 years old now. The paint is flaking off like crazy. I have seen SEVERAL black toyotas with fading/oxid black paint. Toyota said this is normal and that you should wax more. WTF? Maybe if enough people speak out.. they'll own up to using some inferior paint.
  5. Hey everyone. Newbie here and I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem I have with my 99 gs300. I read a similar post but there was no follow up on it. Basically at times when rolling at a slow speed (usually around 5mph) and I press the gas the car will lurch forward pretty hard. I'm guessing it's choosing 1st gear. At times the car doesn't do it.. it will just accelerate smoothly (I'm guessing this is when it chooses 2nd gear). It's more of an annoyance rather than a problem, but the previous post mentioned a recall but again, the post was never followed up on. If I could get this fixed under a recall that would be cool. Also, anyone got recommendations on getting a remote/key? I've seen several posts refer to ebay and i checked them out. Can I really program a key's chip and transmitter by myself? Or is that a dealer only function? Thanks in advance, Sizzler
  6. Hey all, Newbie here. I was hoping I could find and answer to my ongoing stereo problem in my 99gs300 with nakamichi sound. Basically, at low volume levels, the front driver side will play at a significantly lower volume. At times it will even cut in and out. Not sure about the rear driver side, but the front is definitely not right. I've had the tweeter replaced and the amp replaced, but the problem is still there. Could the replacement amp be bad? Or maybe the head unit is the cause of it? Thanks everyone, Sizzler
