  1. check battery for corrosion and take it to a checker or autozone and they will test it as well as your alternator, to make sure it is charging sufficiently.
  2. uhh! Can you say expensive and custom work? Do a search, you will be surprised. If your deck has RCA outputs front and rear you can get by without rewiring. You will have to buy a wiring harness. Good luck on getting it to fit in your dash. They don't make a kit for our cars.
  3. 60thousand for the timing belt. Do a search for all the other things you should do at the say time.
  4. :chairshot: and No britney is being played here! are ya CRAZY!!! Ok so Christina or backstreet boys then , whatever girlie I am so crazy , but thats why you love me and why you're hitting me over the head with a chair while kissing me. gee, at least if you love me, keep it to yourself, don't be telling everyone. ;)
  5. My 93 had the same problem. I opened the out side air vents and flushed them with water. There is a drain down low on the passenger side , you will see water coming out. It will be nasty probably. I then got access to the condenser and cleaned all the mildew off with a rag and flushed with some general purpose cleaner. Last but not least a shot of GIO over the condenser and my car smells awesome.
  6. can you read, girlie I know you're from connecticut, but still Since you're having so many problem, I will attribute it to you being a girl. here is a link to a whole set of replacement speakers for the first or second gen GS, but you better hurry before someone else gets it. Stop playing your Britney spears CD's so loud and blowing up your speakers. ;) gs300 speakers You owe me dinner and a massage if I ever come to connecticut.:whistles:
  7. No, as long as they are the correct size, you won't hurt anything. You should have gotten the iridiums. Just make sure they're gapped correctly.
  8. It's a 10" you could do a 12" with some small modifications. If you're going to use the factory amp, you will probably underpower it and blow it. Look for something freeair and high efficiency.
  9. There are no "issues" with this car. If it has a low idle or a high idle it needs some preventative maintenance. At 68 thousand, it's time for the timing belt and water pump, cam and crank seals to be changed. See if it has been done, expect to pay at least a $1000 for this service. You should also replace the fuel filter, spark plugs(use iridiums), wires, cap and rotor. Possibly the oil and filter as well. power steering fluid, brake fluid, coolant, tranny fluid, rear diff and air filter. It getting expensive, but this should be done on any car at this mileage. Check the maintenance log and see what has been done, as well as who did it. I wouldn't pay over $8500 for the car, maybe 9 if the car was perfect inside and out. Learn to do the small stuff on your own will save you some money. Otherwise you'll be spending some cash. ;)
  10. The manual recomends 91, I would stick to that. The 2jz motors in our cars are higher compresssion. I've used lower with no detrimental effects. But it all depennds on the vehicles condition. If you're going to use 89 at least mix in some 91 or add some octane boost. Throw in a can of fuel injector cleaner every other tank as well. :D
  11. They're about $90 on Ebay, buy one. You'll be glad you did, it will save you time and hassles. You own a $20 thousand dollar car, spend $90 on a manual.
  12. Just get a high flow cat, if the computer can't be fooled with a test pipe. They are not to expensive and it's not illegal and it's like having no cat.
  13. :o I know this! A test pipe is a piece of pipe that bolts in place of the converter.
  14. Sure you got a lexus dipstick, I think you're okay, so stop worrying. Post a pic of the dipstick and note where it's at and go from there.
  15. It will be slightly lower if you check it with the car running. Don't worry about it, it's not like a motor where it's going to hit the crank if you have to much fluid. If it's dark go ahead and change it , if not sail on!
  16. Post a pic, or wait till I do mine. Everything I checked said it was a 194
  17. Uh!! That would be fuel injection service. Cleans out the fuel injectors. It's a good thing to have done if you don't run premium or use a fuel injector cleaner in the tank. Next time dump some fuel injector cleaner in the tank every other tankfull and you won't need to do it.
  18. It will show higher when the car is not running as fluid has drained back into the pan from other areas. 1 1/2 is equal to quarts. If you have no probs , I wouldn't worry about it till you are ready to change it. Which should be pretty soon if it's dark colored. The tranny holds 14 quarts, if you cange it by draining you're onlu getting to 6 quarts. So take it to a shop and have them do a tranny flush and exchange.
  19. I think they're all the same, with the exception of color and options.
  20. Thankyou! Yes you can just put a rubber antenna on their. But man it's a lexus. A new aftermarket power antenna is only $40 to $60
  21. I have all 4 enclosures as well, they look the same! If you want to measure the spacing between the bolt holes. I will check. :D :P
  22. List it on Ebay for 28 to 30 thousand and see if what kind of results you get. If no one is interested you know you need to drop the price a little. :D
  23. Call autotoys and ask them as they seem to have experience in that area. I have been doing alarm and stereos for 15 years, sometimes the changer will work with an aftermarket deck, sometimes not. I know for sure on the lexus it won't just plug in. You would have to buy a new cable or an adapter.
  24. Somebody stole your diagnostic plug. They are very high theft items, especially for the honda and mitsubishi crowd. :P Actually it may be inside under the dash. :D
