  1. I've got mine on my coat as well.
  2. Being from Canada, I have to totally agree with number 7! lmao The American people have spoken (well at least a tad more than 50% of them did anyways). I personally am quite happy that President Bush has been re-elected (even had the Bush / Cheney 04 stickers compliments of blake918...thanks blake! B) one in the car & the other in the front window of my home). Congrats on your second term Mr. President! :D I'm gonna see if a new personalized licence plate is available for my ES (AIR4CE 1). :D :whistles: what do you think everyone? B) ;) Cute posting Matthew. P.S. You know one person I would LOVE to hear from right about now??? Michael Moore!! Despite all he did to try & sway the election this year with his one sided views & 'half truths', the President still got re-elected & it looks good on him! B) So far, Mr Moore seems to have gone into hiding.....anybody heard from him since the election??? Perhaps he can do another documentry on how he might have cost the Democrats the White House!! :P I bet President Bush would even give him an interview!! :whistles:
  3. Many auto mag's don't say much about Lexus because they are generally so well built, predictable & reliable that they can't knock much except to give 'personal' comments that the car is boring or has no excitment. I have yet to read or hear any auto magazine (in print or on TV) complain that their Lexus ever broke down or had serious problems especially when they are added to the Magazine's 'test fleet'. Many other luxury vehicles however have been very problematic such as Jag's, Lincoln, Mercedes & the like. B)
  4. Only consider the extended warranty if it's a 'Lexus' extended & NOT an aftermarket company......many headaches & there is a good chance you will get ripped off going the aftermarket way. B)
  5. What are the replacement costs for a factory HID bulb? Just wondered if I shoule prepare myself for the day they burn out & I don't fall over at the price.
  6. The 2 tires I would seriously consider would be the Yoko we have already talked about or the Toyo Open Country M-410. :) Either tire you can't go wrong!
  7. If the damaged rim is f.u.b.a.r. then another suggestion would be an auto wrecker or salvage yard. Excellent reminder btw steviej about the rim in the trunk!! ;)
  8. Where abouts in Canada are you from bichoo? & Michelin has a new snow tire on the market now called X-ice. :) Toyo also makes excellent winter rubber.
  9. I'd like to say a BIG congrats to the Boston Red Sox, steviej & ALL Red Sox fan's out there! B) I have eaten my words & the curse has been broken! Congrats!!! :D
  10. I have a feeling that Pedro won't be able to 'pitch his game' being in a National League park......if they start to hit him hard (especially a home run or 2) he get's excited & starts throwing the chin music. He must not forget.....he has to bat eventually too. ;) I pick the cards to tie the series up! B)
  11. I want to drive the new GS with the AWD & 6 cyl engine! I have a funny feeling that it just might be my next ride several years from now.......I like it much better than the new RL. :) B)
  12. ONLY get an extended warranty if it's a 'Lexus' extended warranty. Anything from the 'aftermarket' is worthless for the most part & many horror stories (NOTE: many but NOT all of them) have been shared on these forums as well as CL about them. Put the money in your pocket if it's not a Lexus extended plan. B)
  13. Quaker State actually has a new 'winter' engine oil on the market now for those who are intrested......I think it's a 'synthetic blend' type of oil. B)
  14. WOW! $3500.00 is expensive for that supercharger! How much more horsepower & torque increase would we get?
  15. I've heard good things about the Nokia tires for winter. I personally have lived in Toronto (Scarborough) all my 28+ years & never felt the need for winter rubber in any of the vehicles I've owned....nor do I have the room to store an extra set of rims & tires because I live in a condo with a small storage locker (wife has much more stuff than me :whistles: ). I've always put on 'top shelf' all seasons (usually Toyo or Michelins) for year round driving. If the weather is that bad out, I simply don't go out unless it's an emergency, but that's just me.
  16. sport: Wise choice on the Toyo Proxes 4's......they should provide you with what your looking for your IS. Best of luck!
  17. I had the Yoko V4S on my 'short list' 99ls, the problem was I couldn't get in my exact size (205 60 16) so I could only settle for the H4S which I'm sure would have been fine. Lexus recommends a 'V' speed rating for my 01 ES so I went with the Toyo TPT's. Very wise choice 99! Keep us posted every so often & let us know how they are performing. B)
  18. 19.2 U.S. Gallons which is 72.5 litres or 15.9 IMP gallons.
  19. The Michelins you have are a decent tire for sure......a bit pricey mind you compared to what else you could have purchased as SW mentioned the Toyo Proxes TPT should have been considered as well. I've had both on my 01 ES & the Toyo's trump the Michelins bigtime in all categories of traction, handling, mileage as well as price.
  20. Lexusk8 & I have the Toyo Proxes TPT's on our ES & they are fine in the snowy conditions.....I too like steviej mentions don't usually go out untill the streets have been plowed after a large dumping of the white stuff....freezing rain? I just don't go out. ;) Those in a 'snow belt' area or in the mountains regions might want to consider snow tires. I know Toyo, Michelin & Yokohama have a very good snow tire line as does Bridgestone (but everyone know's how I feel about Bridgestone tires in general so on principal I'll never purchase any of their products & their sister company Firestone). jw, what kind of winter rubber & rims did you decide on? The way my Toyo's grip, I never felt any need to purchase another set of tires & rims.
  21. Meta, This usually is a pretty loaded question to ask what oil one should use (I as well as many others on these forums use either Mobil 1 5W30 or 10W30 synthetic.....10W being for owners with 75k miles & up mainly). Again, there is much discussion between the likes of regular 'dino' oil VS. synthetic so many can's of worms can be opened up here. The basic bottom line here is as long as you use a quality brand name engine oil with a quality oil filter (stay away from Fram oil filters) & change the oil as per your owners manual instructions you should be fine. It's that simple! Good Luck.
  22. lol sk & steviej, Agreed Eric, usually get the battery with the higher CCA if cold weather is a concern where you live.
  23. Everything fine now with the fitment steviej?? Do they make that part for the 97 - 01 ES's? B) I wanna see more pics when it's finished.
  24. dockerguy, The ad mentioned at least a couple of times about how well the car was maintained......did you get ALL the service records from him before handing over your money??
