  1. But we gotta break the curse I'm sorry to say gents......that's exactly why I can't get behind the Sox. <_< :whistles: I wish the Sox fans ALL THE BEST, please don't get me wrong (they are in the same division as my beloved Blue Jay's) I just have a feeling that something is going to happen that will turn this series around as it is now 2-0 for the Red Sox. I remember the Yanks being up 3 games to 0. The lesson learned?? Never forget it is a 7 game series. B) ;)
  2. Sport: THe Falken 512's are an excellent tire & fantastic value for the money!! My wife put them on her 2003 Ford Focus ZX5 (at my suggestion because of the consumer reports review & from a price standpoint as it is a leased car). She loves them & they are (dare I say it) a slightly better handling tire than my Toyo Proxes TPT's. I will update in the weeks & months to come for snow & winter performance on the Falkens.......consumer reports rated them # 1 out of 18 high performance all season tires......something to seriously consider. Good Luck! B)
  3. Toyo Proxes TPT is an EXCELLENT choice for an fantastic all season performance tire! Very good in the snow & slush.....awesome in the rain too!!! B)
  4. I just can't do it steviej! I just can't. :whistles: 86 years it's lasted & I wouldn't bet the ranch on them in this series. :)
  5. My God!!! I can't beleive the Yanks choked like that (to make history no less!!!) I must give sincere congrats to the Boston Red Sox (steviej's team ) on never giving up & best of luck in the World Series!! I have to stop there however........I think the 'curse' still exists & predict the National League team will take the series. :whistles: I'm glad I didn't bet my ES when the Yanks had a 3 - 0 series lead......I'd be taking the bus home from work this morning if I did! lol......congrats again steviej!!! B) ;)
  6. Used car's are obviously different than dealing with new cars price wise. If it's a new car......try this out: Fax all your local area dealers & YOU give them YOUR bottom line price (but make it a few hundred less then the best deal you have gotton to that point). You will start a 'bidding' war & your phone will ring off the hook (all the dealers pay the same amount for their new cars, it's the ones who are willing to take a bit less to get the sale), even though the dealer is making 'minimum' profit it's still a delivery for them.......do it closer to the end of the month as well because of quota's ;) That's from personal experence. Used cars....well whole other story because unlike new cars, there is NO used cars that are the exact same. :) B)
  7. I imagine the next generation (all wheel drive platform) will be a larger car overall & hopefully with more interior room. I've seen the spy pic's and sketches in Motortrend & the car looks awesome!! :D B)
  8. Spend the extra cash for the Lexus extended warranty & STAY clear of the 'aftermarket' companies....they are a joke & many of them are out of business because of their past practices......get the warranty that's in fact backed by the automaker that made your car to begin with (assuming you purchased your RX from a Lexus dealer). :)
  9. Lmao 99lsguy!! B)
  10. I've heard that's the upcoming redesigned IS, but it does kind of look like a 4 door Mazda RX-8 dosen't it? Not a bad looking car IMO. Suppose to offer all wheel drive eventually as well. B)
  11. Do some research on what simular cars with that milage are going for in your area & other areas too.....try e-bay & autotrader.com B) Try also Lexus 'pre-owned' on the Lexus.com website. Good Luck!
  12. sc toy, Amsoil is now available at Canadian Tire now......along with Royal Purple but they are big $$$$
  13. Are you looking for an 'all season' high performance tire or summer rubber?
  14. Agreed! :)
  15. Are they reasonable or very high rates compared to what your driving now?? I'm gonna give Ford a year or two to massage any 'bug's' out of the new Mustang & perhaps get a 'special edition' GT.....I can't wait to test drive one however. :)
  16. GO Yankees!! Sorry guy's, I had too!!! :P :D
  17. My wife has a set of the Falken 512's & so far they have been excellent on her car. Take note however......a 55 series & lower (50, 45 etc) only have a 30,000 mile warranty....60 series & up have a 60,000 miles warranty but the price is right & they are excellent in the rain (awesome especially in the hard downpours!) & we are patiently waiting to report on winter conditions. Her car is a lease & the tires should be worn fairly close to replacement which works for us as she has about 25,000 miles to go or a little over a year left on her Focus ZX5 (205 50 16). Good value tire & they did extremely well in a recent consumer reports test of high performance 'all season' tires.....they even beat my beloved Toyo Proxes TPT's lol
  18. Did the people you were dealing with give you ANY specific answers as to why they would not perform a basic oil change on your ES? Or did they answer you again with "we don't work on Lexus"? That's totally unacceptable for the dealer to say that to a customer IMO. :chairshot:
  19. You'll get 500K miles on the car as long as it is maintained correctly, not abused & the body is kept well also. B)
  20. New look is excellent gents!! B)
  21. Fairly reasonable price compared to many other high performance cars out there too! I'll take my V8 GT in red thanks! :D
  22. From what I have heard & read....they are a fantastic tire & have gotton excellent reviews! Check out the tirerack website to see for yourself. In addition to your handling & wet weather performance.....the Yoko V4S offer a very long treadlife rating of 500 which is excellent for a high performance all season tire. It's at least 60,000 miles or more. B)
  23. You might want to consider a 100% fluid change....I had mine done on my 01 ES & the tranny has never shifted smoother. The car is hooked up to a machine that flushes the system completely of the old fluid (including the torque converter). As stated before, use only Toyota Type IV fluid. B)
