OK!, jack it up put on stands, lay my blanket down and crawl under it. remove 3 bolts holding the splash pan on, put the jack under tranny with a board on it. lift tranny just enough to releive the pressure, remove the four NUTS on bottom of mount, remove the four BOLTS holding the crossmember to the frame. remove the four bolts holding mount to tranny. NOTE the position of crossmember (if not marked) thats it... put it all back Micah yes this is the one I put the motor mounts on, I thought I had replaced the tranny mount, but it must have been another one. AND!. this took the "movement" our of the feeling in the steering and seats. mine was not a shimmy or vibration, but a noticable movement that this 99 had but the other one didnt. take a look....

I bought a new tranny mount for my 99, and I am putting it in today.

The poly bushings were so hard riding, they had no flex or give at all, they took away the soft quite ride of my LS400. As soon as we put the OEM bushings in I had my ride back. I have moved the seats around, back and forth and all needed connections are the same, except there will not be a plug for the side airbag.

on one of my 99's the VSC & CEL came on and the car ran fine, no change in operation that I could notice. It was determined that my oil control valve was restricted on my left head. Well, your first question is pretty easy, if the buttons are not right above the console ashtray on your car, you dont have heated seats, unless someone has changed the console for one without the buttons, you can remove the pannel and see if the wiring is there.... On your second question, you are (hopefully)just low on coolant, or have a "air bubble" in your system. check it, flush it, bleed it, you can find out more by feeling the hoses than we can "tell" you. run a search on no heat, it has been covered many times.

Hi, I have owned several LS's, and truly love the 99's I have now, but also the 95-97 cars are strong runners, and very trustworthy, SO, my advice is: pay cash, but that is my way of doing things.. no payments in twenty plus years..... all that money you payout in interest, will buy you a lot of freedom. well: that is my sermon for the day. I have a 97 that should be the same. The seat back has four bolts at the bottom, one behind the center armrest at the top and then nothing else I can find but it is still attached from the top somewhere while I can pull (swing) the bottom up a few inches now. It is driving me nuts...please help! read the above, you will see there are three upper bolts under the headrest

we removed the radiator on my 94 and 97. it makes it so much easier, not having to worry about hitting it.

YEP, that high dollar quote turned me off... way off.. so we yanked that(driver door) sucker out to replace it with one I found at a salvage yard (right rear)and it would not work, it was reversed, so we checked my motor and to our surprise, it worked, that caused us to look further and we saw the blackened contacts, cleaned them off, put it back together, and it worked and is still working... it was over 10 years old, so I am thinking we might have to do it again in 2020, HA, I am joking, I am 76 now, anyway good luck on yours...

I have had 8 LS400's thru the years, have 2 now, I would not have anything else. They cost a little more to repair, but do not need as much up keep as others do, so I think it is a trade-off. make sure the timing belt & water pump has been changed, and you are good to go.

Hi guys, thank you for the information on parts and your experiences. FYI, the toyodiy.com website has somehow managed to get their parts diagrams and parts numbers back online. I had registered with them and got an e-mail from them letting me know about the availability. I checked it out and sure enough the diagrams were back!!! fsuguy BUT: they have no listings for "strut rod bushings"

Billy, you might have saved a little change if you'd bought those strut rod bushings at lexuspartsonline.com. By the way, parts.com is always cheapest for OEM parts, in my experience, but the part no. for those OEM bushings you bought doesn't register anything on parts.com. I hate it when that happens. Fsuguy was looking for the bushings for the UCA's. Don't know if there is an OEM part # for those. NEITHER place has any references to a strut rod bushing, like they never heard of one.... ??

Hi, I bought the OEM Bushings from Park Place. part # 48674-40051 x 2 was 83.00 and I just press the old ones out and the new ones in.

Hi guys and gals, well I replaced my OEM bushings with polys a couple of weeks ago, and got a surprise. "pure drifter" said they were noisy, but I didnt understand why, now I know. NOW I am going to take the polys out and go back to OEM. The polys are not flexible, make the ride hard & firm, like having no shock absorber. I want my cabin as quite as possible.... so I am taking these things out.
