  6. I think you found a jewel, they were very nice, it is parked in an underground storage building... it almost looks like NEW, you will need a set of tires. thats all.. I had your salesman stand beside it.
  7. by dis-connecting the battery, it should turn the light off, try it for 15 seconds, if it comes back on, check for a code... I am assuming the VSC button is NOT activated.
  8. I will take a look.... if they will let me..
  9. yep, just down the street, and they do keep some excellent cars on their lot..... I just cant afford them, the "miles" are of no concern to me when I am hunting a replacement... just its condition.
  10. I have run 28/29 in all 9 of my LS's.... seems normal to me
  11. already finished that, but it is easy to do. jack it up, remove RH CAT from car, remove RF Wheel, and you are 4 bolts from home, two lower bolts are easy, two upper are tricky getting them restarted, long extention and a wobble joint for us.... xxxx you have to loosen the connector between the RH CAT and the left Cat.. good luck..
  12. WOW, I just looked at the forecast for South Bend... snow, snow, and more snow. with temp down to 3. yep you have my sympathy...
  13. just thought I'd share with you guy's ... working on a friends 96 LS, 182K, replacing belt, pump and seals on the front, and EGR tube and gaskets on the rear, and a couple of hood struts also. wish me well, supposed to be 19 tonight
  14. I bought a 94LS in 07, with a broke belt at 230K, fixed it and drove til 246k and sold it. so it will happen.
  15. wow, 14 years on the original timing belt??? friend you are living on borrowed time.. you SHOULD change it NOW. you would not want to sell it this way without telling the new buyer, and it will hurt the price. cant you do it yourself? they are not that hard, many tutorials on here.
  16. there is only 1 motor, you need to find the HCV. maybe this will help. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1992_LEXUS_LS400_UCF10L-AEPGKA_8716.html or this: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61297&st=0&p=393624&hl=+heater%20+control%20+valve&fromsearch=1entry393624
  17. All I can do is guess at what model you are having trouble with..... you should be able to remove the cable from the valve, and work it both ways freely, if not, you have a bad valve, and yes you can lube the cable, slowly/slightly with a spray can. your cable should move (in reference to the temp you dial) in both directions. good luck..
  18. see photo... this is the heater control valve (99 model)simuliar to yours. the long black hose from the HCV goes to the heater, it should be HOT to the touch. (with the car warmed up) try it and advise us.
  19. what happened when you followed Landars instruction? and can you feel heat when you hold the rpm's at 2500 after it is warmed up.
  20. one of my older LS's did that, and it was a small box behind the grille. didnt bother anything so I forgot it, and it went with the trade...
  21. if that doesnt fix it, you are probably low on coolant.. check it out.
  22. never heard of that one, you can be first, do it and tell us what you had to change...
