  1. Look on the bright side, it's not as dangerous as when my friend put a tarp in the bed of his truck, filled it with water and I hopped in and tried not to die as he drove as recklessly as possible
  2. The "Favourite Drinks" thread inspired my curiosity... so bring on the bubbly! I've been lucky enough to try both, and I have to say Cristal is my favourite. How about you?
  3. The only thing I ever go to a mechanic for is wheel alignment. I have several friends who went through technician training and one who builds custom cars in his garage, so I can get diagnostics from them if I can't figure it out myself. I just hate the thought of paying double just because I don't want to put in the effort myself. One of my New Years resolutions is to be able to tear down and rebuild an engine with little to no assistance by the end of the year.
  4. After a while, your engine becomes accustomed to a certain weight of oil. I would suggest switching to Mobil1 5w30 Synthetic, unless you frequently drive in really hot conditions.
  5. I've heard (never experienced it myself) that the Tein CS coils with the EDFC are almost miraculous. Whenever I get around to suspension mods, that's the route I plan on taking.
  6. 3 dings (barely noticable, no paint damage) and some scuffed spots on the paint. And a fairly scraped up driver side mirror. All were there when I bought the car, but the paint is still super glossy and rich. Looks garage kept, don't know where the scuffs came from.
  7. 117 (limited) in my 240sx, 112 (ran into traffic) in my SC3, 135 in my dad's 04 Maxima. Can't wait til I get my bike so I can see 150+
  8. The difference in times is probably a result of gearing/weight. It's actually a 300lb difference, and didn't the Supra automatic have 5 gears? As for weight reduction, you can do a lot without removing interior parts, but it's annoying and can get expensive. Removing the power steering and A/C units lose weight and give back hp, but then you don't have ps or a/c. You can also gain 1-2hp by switching to an electric radiator fan. Lightweight underdrive pulleys give more grunt, but sacrifice gas mileage - same with adjustable cam gears. Really the quickest and easiest solution for more power would probably be getting the Dragon torque converter. And as far as Supra parts are concerned, a Getrag 6spd tranny and LSD would help a lot, but they're expensive as balls.
  9. And picked up a bunch of freinds and went down a bunch of really curvy roads really fast!!!! LOL !! JK! I'm sure they wore their seatbelts. :P Actually... :whistles:
  10. A Royal Flush (or Royal F*ck as I call them) is about as strong as a shot of cough syrup. Burns a little, but it's sticky sweet so it's easy to get down. Tastes alright as well. If you don't like whiskey, get a Red-headed !Removed!... same drink, only with Jaeger instead of Crown. I'm personally a fan of the Pineapple Upside-down shot, but if I'm going balls-to-the-wall I'll do 252's or a Grateful Dead. And as far as non-alcoholic goes, DrPepper all the way!
  11. My 98SC300 changer plays regular CD's without a hitch, but with CD-R's it doesn't read them perfectly. I can play them, but sometimes it can't find the track cue so I have to reload the disc, and it skips easily over road bumps. Pretty soon I'll have this baby though, so it won't be an issue :D
  12. I think the GFX kit makes a huge difference in looks, but I'm the type of person who will analyze every facet of a car's aesthetics and ergonomics with excrutiating detail. Bottom line, there are people (if not many) who will definitely notice the difference... you just have to decide if you're one of those people.
  13. ...1992 Chrysler Minivan. Plain white with the sliding door and everything. I took the rear benches out and filled the back with beanbag chairs.
  14. I like the ISP Mode wheels because they remind me of the and the BBS custom wheels for the IS-F. LINK - http://www.lexus.com/lexus-share/images/ga...rior/g_ext3.jpg http://images.google.com/url?q=http://www....OoMwd7LPEc1cY8Q
  15. I don't know what's available for the IS250, but here's a list of basic performance upgrades - Intake Headers Exhaust Underdrive Pulleys Advanced Timing ECU/Chip Injectors/Plugs Weight Reduction (including drivetrain components) Keep in mind, a lot of these options can void your warranty, and any time you mess with your A/F mixture you should retune your car.
  16. The guy I knew had it stripped down as far as he could get it and still be street legal - no a/c, pwr steering, radio, carpet/insulation, passenger seats, spare tire, etc. He also had about 6-8k invested in it, including a Garrett T04E-60 turbo kit and forged internals. He ran an 11.8s quarter, but I don't know what his maintenence was like.
  17. Hah! I was in Dallas last week, and the thermometer in my SC read 112 degrees. I really need some tint on those windows...
  18. I've heard reviews that say the ML system is the best sounding system in any current production car (even better than the Bang&Olufsen system in the new Audi S8). Now I might have to say the Linn 950w 13-ch system in the Aston Martin DB9 might beat it, but other than that I'm not sure I can argue.
  19. Hmmm, WellI can see perhaps not leaving it in for extended periods of time but if you change the oil immediately, how its it supposed to do anything? I'll sure be careful though, thanks for the heads-up Well, that's why you let it run for 10 minutes after you add the seafoam. Then you seafoam the intake, then change the oil. The guy who told me about it said he would drive it around the block a few times to cycle the oil after adding seafoam to the crankcase, then change it out.
  20. From what I know, both the LF-A and the IS-F will be available in 2008 (albeit towards the end, perhaps). The IS-F is roughly 400hp/350tq and the unveiling can be seen here - I can imagine the IS-F will run around $60k loaded, considering a fully loaded IS350 is pushing 50 g's.

  22. While I agree that rice = dumb, you might want to watch out for those loud, obscene CRX's. I personally knew a guy in high school who's 91 CRX could outrun a Porsche 911 turbo, and just last night I saw a guy finish 4th in "Pinks: All-Out" with a 10.5s CRX. Still, I would never be caught dead driving a car that ugly :P
  23. I know people who think the gray interior is classy, but I've never been a big fan. However, with Breakwater Blue, the gray is actually quite fitting, so I might be swayed towards that combination. EDIT -- I think the IS in this picture has a black interior, if that helps. It's the only one I could find... http://www.mikeliebner.com/graphics/IMG_6995b_800.jpg
