  1. Wondering what type of lubrication I should used on sunroof track Thanks
  2. 98 Es 300 Driver window has no problems All other windows will operate on cooresponding controls to lower window but will not raise with the control on each door Driver controls can operate all windows flawlessly For instance. Passenger door control will lower window but when I go to raise window - the widow will move VERY slightly then nothing! I have to raise it will master control on driver side. This is the case for windows in back as well. any suggestions?
  3. How often do you recommend doing a seafoam treatment to oil? Every change? In first post you said "Pour the other 1/2 in with fresh engine oil." Then I understood you to say "This is after ONE treatement done in the manner I outlined in my previous post. (I.E. following the directions on the can) On old oil right before changing it." So I am a little confused. how about through brake booster line?
  4. I am very pleased as to results I got from doing a seafoam treatment on my 98 ES300 using the brake booster hose. Problem now is I cannot find the same hose on my 2003 RX300. I am sure it is there but it is not in same place and I am not a mechanic... can someone point me to the right location so I can do same treatment on my RX? Thanks
  5. If your timing belt goes... you will gain a new car :) I waited until 145,000 before I changed mine but I would not do it again- it is worth the peace of mind knowing it won't destroy your engine
  6. Just got mine done- Bill sitting in front of me Water Pump $120.30 Timing Belt and Tensioner kit (includes seals) $243.72 Labor $285 Spark plugs replace (I bought my own and had them install) $165 (Labor only)
  7. Just picked up car.... Their notes said noise coming from Rear bank of Engine Lifter If I was to describe where it was coming from... it is right behind firewall..... top back of center of engine Hope this helps
  8. I have a 98 ES300 (150k Miles) which has had "clicking" noise in engine for a couple months as it idles and as gas is pressed it gets faster. I took it to a trusted shop and they told me without tearing it apart they cannot diagnose noise. (problem is they want $1000 just to tear it apart) until they do they cannot be sure what is wrong. They gave me a couple "guesses" that it could be lifter or carbon buildup. They also said the engine is running fine and they do not think it is worth tearing it apart for that price (at least they are honest) I just paid them $1100 to do bunch of other work so I am kind of tapped out So I guess my question is - has anyone else had an issue similar or have a good guess as to what might be wrong? Am I damaging my engine? Should I take it to dealer and have them look at it before my engine blows up? Any help would be appreciated
  9. Could also be the spring which pops the door open when latch is pulled. Mine was doing exact same thing but it wasn't the release tap which was broken it was the spring. Had a friend "make" me a new new one and has been fine ever since
  10. I am looking to buy an uncut keyless entry key (1 unit) for a 98 ES300 on Ebay ($70) it has the correct FCC ID # I called dealership and guy in parts dept says he is sure I cannot have this key reprogrammed to use in the car (i.e. Start engine) He is telling me I have to buy a new keyless remote unit (which has no key on it) for $230 then a master key ($95) then reprogram/cut ($50) Is this info correct or can I buy the 1unit key and have a dealer do the rest?
  11. To answer your question- i was told by the parts dept at Lexus all years of ES300 after 92 have cabin air filters
  12. My 98 does not have a cabin air filter, but it has a slot of one. The filter is like $35 and is like a air filter, for an engine. ← Well obviously I have the filter or I would not be asking how they go into the slot- the cost is more like $50 but it does not give instructions
  13. so can anyone help me out with the orientation of these filters? Do they sandwich together? or insert one at a time? Thanks
