That's exactly what I thought when I bought my orbital. I got the Griots buffer kit. I think I got 3 pads, a huge clay bar, speed detailer, wax and polish for like $190.00 bucks. Which still sounds kinda high, but whatever. I could see getting a Flex or one of those if I were detailing cars for a living, or even 1 or 2 a week. But like SW03ES, if you just do it right the first time, your only really using the buffer 1 or 2 times a year.

For something like this you can still file a criminal complaint. Keying a car is a criminal as well as a civil case. Even if you report it as a crime, and get a copy of that, you can still show it to your insurance agent, and see what can be done from there.

Nice vids Bartkat. I love switch backs and sweepers with hills and all that. Your a lucky person to have a nice car like the IS350 and roads like that around so close. Amazing in all 3 videos your posted, I think I saw one other car the whole time! I'd be in jail by now, with no hope for drivers liscense ever again if I lived on roads like that! I just wouldn't be able to contain myself. <_< Your discipline is impressive!

yup, it works on all the model years for the IS250 and the IS350.

I always run conventional oil in it for about 1000 miles, then switch it to synthetic. This allows the valves to seat first, and the bearings and journals to fit up together and break in properly.

Theres a limit to how many pics you can have in a single post. You might want to try and break it up into 4 or 5 posts. Also you can upload the images to like photobucket and just html file them. That works really nice. Then the images are in full size. But you still have a limit of how many you can have in a single post.

That puddle of oil around your plugs could be from a leaky valve cover gasket... not hard to change if you managed to change your plugs without problem. Right, if the oil was around the insulator, then it's just the valve cover and is easy to fix as djspawn mentioned. If the oil you referred to was on the electrodes, then that is just a sign they were fouled out and no longer firing, which is why you got the cel light, misfires and so on. I would have expected to see that. Do a few second gear strong acceleration pulls to almost redline. That will help blow out any carbon you may have accumulated during the fouled plug fiasco. And run a few tanks of fuel with some Techron or some fuel system cleaner that you like to use.

Yep, Bosch plugs are no good in these cars. You need Denso, or NGK. Denso's are a much better plug though, and get the irridiums. they cost more, but you get alot more for it. The water pump and belt, tensioner, and timing should all be done at the same time because you have so much labor involved to get to them, it's cheaper to be safe while your there. You shouldn't have to replace your fuel filter. It's inside the fuel tank and I haven't ever needed to replace one.

What color paint and decals?

I just listed the basics in a summary. there are a few others, but the Luxury package on an IS is considered rare, as they were special order mostly. And it would say Mark Levinson on the head unit itself if it had the ML option. I've heard both, and the premium sound system sounds great, with the ML offering a few DSP sound modes and 5.1 Dobly Digital. The ever so popular IS350 vs. G35 debate. Well, I personally think that they came out with the G37 because the G35 was getting it's butt handed to it by the IS350. Engine power wise, they aren't even in the same league. And it's still faster than the new G37's. Not to take away from Infinity though, They are a good car also. I just think the IS is so sexy and class. The G35 looks good, but only as a coupe, where as the IS looks hot as a 4 door.

It's an ok price. And it doesn't have the luxury or sport package. It has the premium package with nav. and no Mark Levinson. It's actually the most common and popular package. Sport package adds stainless steel sport pedals and door sills, stiffer suspension, spoiler and a few other minor cosmetics. Luxury package come with electric tilt steering and memory seating and mirrors.

Now that's what I'm saying! The black is a perfect color silver! They look great! Maybe we can get a nice database going here with pics of all the different combos. And btw, great looking shine on that ride! And brother your in Miami and no tint?

Yep, there are about 25 different chemicals that outgas from the interior of man-made products in your Lexus cabin. That's why the Lexus service replaces the cabin filters every 10K miles. Unless you are certified to handle hazmat, you should let the dealer remove and install a new filter. Most of these chemical are very carcenogenic. Several will just cause mild discomfort to moderate pain....
