  1. POSI is where both wheels spin at ALL times or "locked" i'm sure you know that. the LS 400 does NOT have continueuous locking differential MY 92 does not have POSI or trac control........nor is MY car worth a flip in the snow
  2. No POSI TRAC for LS the LS is horrible in snow......glad i don't live in colorado with this car... good luck, and be carefull
  3. like i said b/f this is the same question you have already asked and explained. we have given you all of the information we can give, and accordingly, in 9 responses by our members take it into the shop and see what professional says.
  4. UTC. you just asked this EXACT same question a couple of days ago, it is now on the second page with 9 replies i just looked at it......we have given you suggestions and things to look for. there is no need to ask the EXACT same question again...the members here have done all we can to help you in your situation and offered all we know.........take it to a mechanic and have them look at it and tell you whats wrong with your car
  5. and that is GREAT advice :D so just start with the things we suggested and go from there ;) good luck
  6. thata boy :D the wheels should fit with no prob.......
  7. yes it is :D and you have to be optimistic when you are selling your car................you can always come down...... ;)
  8. when was the last time you had a tune up? could really be a number of things, vaccuum line could be the culprit, Maf could be the culprit, clogged injectors, bad gas, as well as what the other members posted above........but i would do at tune up asap and go from there, could be a fouled plug to tell u the truth
  9. i'm sorry, is it me or is the same question being asked over and over again in this thread <_<
  10. yeah i've seen them go for that as well, but not with over 200K. more along the line of lower to mid 100's. i would shoot for around 5,500 or so....you should be able to get that, if the car is in good condition....... it still amazes me that a 92 LS can still bring around 8K with so many miles......but they do..........
  11. i would personally choose the 430, hands down....... they are sooooooo sweet LS LS LS LS LS
  12. i have that same "wet spot" exactly where you are talking about Texas...........i noticed it when i changed my oil 2 weeks ago, i also use mobile 1, you can't blame the oil, its good stuff.......and i agree with spiller, my car runs better, ie....better gas mileage, quieter, and smoother engine with the mobile 1, the problme is the gasket, you just need to replace it, parts go bad over time...time to replace it ;) i won't change the quality of my engine oil for an old leaky gasket (15 bucks),,,,,,i'll change the gasket, (next weeekend)
  13. got a pic of her? i love Gen 3 LS's sooo elegant and classy looking great choice, i'm sure you'l love it....... :D
  14. that is an exellent start.......you did it right with all of that, you have yourself pretty much a full tune up......so thats good.....the car should run great after that. check the hoses that are by the "L" emblem on the top of the engine. (i don't remember the actual hose off hand <_< ) check all hoses on your intake tubing all the way up the throttle body.....that sucking sound you are hearing sounds like a leak in the intake somewhere....you said you replaced the tubing........was that from the MAF all the way up to TB? check for cracks in the tubing and the hoses (they get old and brittle and are really easy to break, as are the nipples they connect to), make sure you have all the clamps that hold the assemble together on tightly and securely, ie......tubing to MAF assemble, tubing to TB........ check your air box make sure it isn't cracked or there aren't any holes in it.....and basically just make sure you have the clamps on tight..... about the check engine light: since the check engine light is on and you are having problems with the idle, i would first check and or adjust/replace the throttle position sensor..... that in itself could trigger the check engine light as well as effect the idle another culprit could be a bad MAF sensor, bad MAF would cause irregular idle (low, high, stumbling, ect.....) as well as trigger the check engine light.
  15. this has been discussed a million times.........just do a search in this forum, and the wheel and tire forum......you get all the info you want. ;)
  16. the actual "gold package" is just the grille, emblems, antena base, ands wheel center "L's". everything that is standard chrome on the regular LS, is Gold with the Gold package......there is no equipment upgrades, just with the standard gold package now with some of the Ultra Lux, packages they do have the gold package, and therefor would have equipment upgrades, and or add ons.
  17. i do the same thing :D i like to change my plugs every year....... i don't really know why i do that, as its overkill, but i just like doing it i guess, and i like have having clean plugs in the car <_<
  18. if its inermittent......or if the idle raises and lowers intermittently, its quite possible that you have a vaccumm leak somewhere..ie......cracked vaccuum hose....or a hose could be not connected tightly or even could be disconnected........just take a look and see ;)
  19. yeah those are pretty "gheto" you can find them at any auto parts store your just better off parking away from other cars :P
  20. just changing 8 plugs isn't a tune up per say... its really just as it states 8 new plugs a major tune up includes a lot more,,,plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor ect....... this is something you can definately DIY........it all just depends on what kind of plugs you want to put in the car and your budget........if you want some really good plugs that will last you can go with denso iridium or an NGK plug....... you're looking at about 10-12 dollars a plug with those you can go as cheap as a 2-3 dollar bosch plug, it all just depends on how much money you want to spend as well as the quality of components you want in your car..... personally i would NEVER pay someone to do a tune up.......its just to easy to DIY.
  21. you're welcome, glad we could help :D yeah it is expensive, but its worth it.......good investment for a great car.... and i'm sure you will be happy with it
  22. thats great to know :D i need to have mine fixed, (just been puting it off ) but i will send mine into them very shortly i have heard nothing but great things from that company (Makido) thanks for sharing
  23. if this is the car you are talking aboutt for 11,900 i wouldn't even mess with it..............could be a number of things, but the smell of coolant is NEVER good could be boiling over, heater core, blown head gasket, ect..........i wouldn't touch that car for 11,900 altough it could be a very simple fix, but THEY would have to fix it(and you need to know what the cause was) b/f you could even consider buying it
  24. if you like it, and YOU think its a good deal.........buy it :D with 133k on her, and it being 8 years old (not that that effects the quality of these cars at all) i personally would shoot for around 10,500 or less..........
