yeah, you can either call em or do it online. thats how much i paid. check this thread out thats the parts i bought from them
  4. gen I and II cars have distributor and timing belt, they dont have those PCM programs unoftunately. on 1UZFE its all done in old facion way
  5. strange thing i noticed about my car. when i'm braking and speed is already very small car tends to turn right. i mean the steering wheel is turning by itself for like 30-40 degrees. why would that happend
  6. get an error code. might be a lot of reasons why it happend. i'm sure ur car is not accelerating because ECU is not letting it. and its not letting it accelerate because it got some data from the sensors and it has some error codes for you.
  7. www.newlexusparts.com check this place out. i'm sure you can get it cheaper over there but most part of those 700$ they are askin is labor. it will take almost a day to dissasemble everything and put it back together
  8. if you use higher ocane then recommended your seals will get burned as well due to higher combustion temepratures. it means blue smoke and $$ to waste :D
  9. got some preimium gas once from some ghetto delta gas station, oh man i regret it! i did only 250 miles on a highway plus my car was stuttering and resisting acceleration all the time. yeah use the gas that is recommended by your manufacturer. its safer this way. and you can save some money because you will not have those "out of nowhere" malfunctions which might appear if you use the cheap gas. the temperature during combustion for the high octane is bigger then on a regular gas. so it gives more pressure. what the octane digit means is a percentage of gases mixed.
  10. he mixed the pedals up. thats what i heard and read in the news
  11. guys at lexus told me that they are exaclty the same when i was askin em about parts. 90-94 years have all the parts interchangeble as well as 95-97 and 98-2k and so far..... and this is what www.newlexusparts is saying and my alldata manual confirms that
  12. there is none whatsoever. they are both generation II cars.97 is completely the same as well
  13. i have 96 ls and its the same car, did most of the work done by myself, saved me some major $$. i have all the diagrams and instructions on how to do mostly anything in the car. so let me know if u need anything

you can get them online as well they vary in price from 7 to 10$ dont pay more. and yes you should bring it to the shop. i bring my own oil and filter:) if you want i will give you partnumber for the filter or you can look it up at www.newlexusparts.com
  15. first of all shakin problem. balance your front tires first before changin enything. then do the injector cleaning it might help with the engine sound. brakes squeakin i'm not sure if you can do much. try to remove wheels and put some brake quiter stuff not sure about the cd covers and stuff as to the speakers i never heard of cleaning them. for the black parts i would recommend a mother's back to black lotion or whatever it is. and for the waxing use mothers clay bar with instant detailer, then stage 1 prewax, stage 2 cleaner and stage 3 wax. all are made by mothers. dont use turtle wax products!!! oh btw wash ur car with the sponge and mothers shampoo and dry it up with towels before doing any of those stages. then do the clay bar and all 3 stages. make sure you do it good with clay bar. you will feel every lil particle on the surface. transmission jerk offs might be due to the upcoming death or due to overfilled torque converter as i know check if the oil smells like burn.

yeah definelty use only lexus v8 filters they are bigger and the paper inside is thiker. as to the oil you might as well switch to sinthetic 5w-30. i did 2k on it already and its still light!
  17. your amp.... check it.... its under the passenger seat.
  18. yeah that non intefercence part is ok. usually you haev to do it if you hear a whining noise from the engine at 800-1000 rpms. it means ur bearings on water pump and pulleys are worn and u need to change em. as to the timing belt condition you can remove the right timing belt cover whihc covers spark plugs and distributor cap as well to check the timing belt
  19. can you fix mine?:) where is charleston?
  20. well try dealership, give em ur vin and if they are nice they will give u all records. if not, change it. yeah those 800$ include labor, oroginal timing belt is around 50$ water pump you can find for 150$ timing belt pulleys are 60 and 95$ and tenssioner for timing belt is another 30-40$
  21. there is no other damage, i looked behind the bumper and there is a huge metal bar connected to the frame and it takes more then small escort on 15 mph to brake it:)
  22. where can i fond those guys? in a regular bodu shop? or they have shops of their own? i dont even know how to find em
  23. never heard about low coolant light if it looks smth like this (o) then it means that its a brake pads are worn.
  24. guys its brake pads light. it means ur brake pad sensor tells u to check ur brake pads.
  25. had bad expience with costco ones. mine cracked spilling acid in the engine compartment. i would recommend interstate brand. they have 5 years full warranty and fit your car perfectly. i have this brand in both cars and no problems whatsoever. origin Lexus(panasonic) battery is also good but overpriced.
