  1. Car looks great! Welcome to the club...
  2. Was it from a rock chip? If so get it fixed through your insurance. If not take it in and ask Lexus...maybe the windshield was not installed correctly...but I am not aware of the windows cracking...mine is an 04 the windshield is fine...know plenty of other people that have RX's and no problems with the windshields.
  3. Well, I'm sorry you're having issues too, but I'm glad it's not just me. Yes, please let me know what they say, that would be interesting. I leave mine off & just turn them on when it's raining and I'm sure the bug splats are causing yours to swipe. Thanks for the input. Interesting... Mine works great and I actually think the Auto wipers are great...my wife's car now that is another story...driving along on a sunny day and all of a sudden full speed wiper??? We cut hers off and when it or I should say here IF it rains we turn them on... But the only complaint I have about my RX330 is some of the rattles but other than that I love it!
  4. Not if it is a Lease...remember you do not own the car. The insurance company, if the car is totaled would settle the claim with the owner of the car in this case Lexus or Toyota Motor Credit. The insurance company will pay the company for the value of the car...you will end up not having a car and, any money put down on a traditional lease would be lost. Look you can see it here... http://www.leaseguide.com/Glossary/downpayment.htm I have also had this happen to a insured too. And most tax advisors will tell you not to put money down on a lease too.
  5. Not much...I have run the AC and watched the MPG and filled up and run it with out the AC and it is hardly noticeably...
  6. One thing to absolutely check into on the one pay lease is...what happens if you have an accident and the car is totaled. I know with most leases any down payment is gone if the car is totaled...most leases have GAP coverage factored in so you won't owe them anything but you also wouldn't get anything back. I am not sure how it would work with the one pay...would you be refunded a pro rated portion of the money? Hopefully you would not have an accident but that is one thing to factor in... I had talked to an accountant about leases and he basically told me never put money down on a lease. Write the monthly payment off... Now if your income can justify a $21k or $35k write off in one year with out getting hit with a AMT then go for it. That's a great write off!
  7. Not sure if it is the same...this is how mine works! You need to make sure that your L - R is pushed to either the L or the R not in the middle for the mirrors to drop. If it is left in the middle the mirrors will not lower.
  8. First off just want to say glad you like your Lexus. I find it hard to believe that all 3 BMW's in the show room had dead batteries, and it took 2 hours to start a car with a dead battery... :whistles: and Did you test drive the MB, or did you buy it? When you say you "returned" it sounds like you bought it and got your money back too. If so wow I have got to hand it to you...I have never seen anyone get their money back for uncomfortable seats. I am a little surprised that the BMW dealership handed you your check back too. But...OK welcome to the club enjoy the LS...great car!
  9. Try to use some soap and water. If that won't take it off try some leather cleaner...I would be cautious of using anything like goo gone or goof off on it...but if nothing else works then give that a shot but use a small amount. How bad is the ink stain? I would think that the ink should come off with a mild soap... Good Luck!
  10. Well...some people take it way to serious...I am not good and I do not even golf at all anymore...just no time...but I used to golf quite a bit with my grandfather...when I was younger. The only advice I have is...get out of the way! If you and a buddy are learning how to play...take your time and have fun...but let the more experienced and better players play through!
  11. That is just about normal. I think that I pay about $218.00 for the regular service at Lexus.
  12. Fresh Mooz only, Buffalo Mooz is great, Especially smoked. I am grilling a whole chicken tonite, I put fresh rosemary and garlic with s&p under the skin and then I coat the outside of the chicken with the same mix, Then grill/roast for 11/2 hours. The leftover chicken is also excellent on crostini or Quesadilla. Just wondering DC...have you tried making beer can chicken? That is great...you rub down the outside of a whole chicken with memphis rub and the put it on a opened can of beer...pour out about 1/4 of the can or you can drink a 1/4 of the can... Cook on the grill med to me high heat for about 3 - 4 hours...just make sure the flames don't get up to high... I am getting hungry!
  13. The company was called Karcraft but I think they are out of business...or at least I have not seen any of their products in along time. I got it from a car dealership that is who supplied them with the carpet paint. This looks to be about the same thing.... http://www.customfinishes.com/Vinyl-Carpet-Dye.htm Just use a light coat don't get carried away with it....
  14. I am a former smoker so I won't lecture you about smoking in your car...it is your car and you are paying for it...and you are paying the taxes on the cigarettes too. But for what it is worth quitting was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Now far as that *** burn goes...try some goof off as said or just plain carpet cleaner. If it did not burn much maybe you can just scrub it out. My first car that I owned someone plucked a cigarette out of the window and guess what??? I found it on my back seat. I was able to clean the burn up pretty good and found some carpet paint/stain that I was able to cover it up with...you may be able to get by with just scrubbing it....good luck and sorry man it sucks!
  15. Lex Kid is right...just had new pads put on my RX front and back...rotors looked fine. Had the shop that did the work for me get parts... Lexus had quoted me $270 for just rear pads I had front and back pads done for 380.
  16. As far as the Lexus service dept 9.5, and just Lexus in general 8.
  17. I appreciate all of the congrats...everyone! SW watch out something is in the water...and I only drink distilled water? :whistles: As far as the tires...I have the 18's...I keep the same tire year round and here on the eastern shore of MD...we have the bay on one side and the ocean on the other. It has been along time since we have had much snow at all. If we do get any I will drive the Jeep...not the Lexus because of all the salt they put on the roads. Thanks for your feedback... I am pretty sure I will get the Michelin's....
  18. Thanks...I have considered the bridgestones but after seeing them on a RX think I will go with the Michelins myself...I know about the treadlife but they are still better than the Goodyears...or at least from what I have seen they are! Thanks again!
  19. :) Well I have to admit I have not been posting much of anything lately. My wife and I have been real busy getting things prepared for the new addition. I can say one thing so far that we have done if anyone else is expecting and you would like to know if it is a boy/girl have a 3d-4d sonogram done. It was amazing you can see the baby's facial features and the baby moving. You can get a video of the little fella...the soon to be grand parents and great grand parents loved it too. We wanted to know if it was a boy or a girl before we started the room. So we got confirmation! We know that it is going to be a boy. Anyway my wife is due early November. I have been to every baby store just about on the east coast lately. :D Bought a crib got it home...was the wrong crib...took it back they didn't even have the one we wanted...Got another one...painted, border...bought stroller...play toys, the whole works! Wow...did not even know it is like a different world the baby world. Guess someone will actually start sitting in the back of my SUV now... :D Well the days of a clean car I think are almost over. Just thought that I would drop in and say HI...and let everyone know the exciting news. Other than that my Lex is doing great...just put new brakes pads on front and back. I will need to get tires soon...and as always this site is full of great info...Michelins, Goodyears, or Bridgestone...
  20. Well I have had good experiences with Sheehy Lexus in Annapolis. They have seemed to address any, and all problems that I have had. Everyone that I have talked to really seems to care about my satisfaction. Good luck!
  21. It is not just Hyundai...Ford is now comparing themselves to Lexus and BMW...
  22. X 2! Why in the world would you think that it is OK to call him at home. :chairshot:
  23. ZooM-ZooM! Hope that you both enjoy!
  24. See what type of car you are! :D http://www.tomorrowland.us/sportscar/ I was a Lamborghini Murcielago!
