Last month, I was rear ended at a light by another driver. His insurance is fixing my 06GX470 with 7000 miles. They have put a new frame under it! Close to 12-13k in damage. I don't think that I want this lovely truck anymore and am going to trade it...possibly for a IS250-350. I have been todl by my attorney and others that I can collect 'diminished value' from his insurance since my car is not worth near what it was 6 weeks ago. Any advice? I have spoken with my attorney and have spoken with my Lexus dealer who says that they do that all the time. I have not spoken with the other insurance company. My attorney said to wait til the car was back in my possession. Thanks Rick

I was sitting still at a stoplight this morning on the way to work. All of the sudden....WHAM!...I was hit from behind. Bumped the car in front....no damage there...that we could see... A 95 Chevy Cavalier hit me doing 35-40 mph...no brakes, no tire screech...just WHAM! The guy has no insurance...forget the fact that it is a law in Tennessee! Took it to the local Cadillac dealer (my Lexus dealer has no body shop) that has a great reputation. The estimator looked under the rear and said that the frame was bent! The guy's car hit my factory trailer hitch and I guess that torqued the frame. If it makes you better, his radiator is now part of his dash! His airbags went off, and his car is totalled...big time. Will my car ever be the same? The estimator said that they would need to put a new frame under it....oh my! I have a rental and now I wait. Any advice? I am trading a 2004 GMC Denali with Moonroof and captains chairs with 36000 miles for a 2006 GX470. Nice shape, very clean, no wrecks, etc. I have a Carmax quote of 28k for my truck, but Tennessee taxes the difference. Dealer is offering me my truck and 21277 plus tax and 129 doc fee. GX has: Nav/ML Spoiler 3rd row seats tow hitch (the real one) preferred acc. package List 53243 CR invoice 46154 or 45221 with holdback Dealer says that I can buy the truck for 48777 cash. He is valuing my trade for 27500. Another out of state dealer offered me a lower price. I went there...200 miles...he lowballed my trade to 24k. I walked and he sold the car. Are these units so hot that they can sell them at a high price?? If the 24k was real money, then my local dealer is selling me close to invoice. I have another quote of 50k from another dealer (100 miles)...but he has to see my trade...of course..I can't blame them. Any opinions or thoughts?? Thanks, Rick

I am about to trade my 04 GMC Denali for an 06 GX 470. My only concern is that I tow a Mastercraft X-Star Wakeboard boat several times a year. It weighs @ 4200, trailer is about 1200, and gas and gear is near 300. Has anyone towed a large 23 ft boat with the GX? Any troubles? The dealer will probably install the hitch since I cannot seem to find any Blizzard White with Navs. that have the hitch from Japan. Thanks Rick (about to be a member of the club soon....maybe..)
