On my GX you can change it so you hold the speak button it beeps and you say what you want dial by name or temp 74, etc...I assume it is the same so here you go! GO to Settings. Scroll down to Voice Recognition and select OFF. That should make it so you don't have to listen to all of the commands each time.

Is the car under factory warranty still? If not ask why the car is not a CPO there must be a service issue, or a accident. To answer your question on the ride I guess it depends on what you are comparing it to and what options the rx350 has. I think that my rx330 that we just got rid of seemed to have a softer ride than my x5 for sure. Bottom line the fact that a car is not a CPO would not worry me but the question why it is not would. If you are buying from a non Lexus dealer or a private party then it would make sense it is not a cpo. Get a service report and a carfax and if they look good then go for it they are great cars. If it were me it would be the 96. But be prepared to spend some money no matter which car you get. 170000 miles is going to need some work and the 92 with 70k on it will too. Is this going to be a daily driver?

Did you have a Carfax run? Even with a clean carfax there are times that there could have minor damage done to a car.

I don't think I even have 650 miles yet :) I like the xm weather. Mine has been spot on. Sat radio is cool, don't use stocks...that would cause me to run off the road and kill myself :) Sports don't use but I think I will keep the nav weather and radio not sure about anything else we don't have traffic around here. Smog sensor as sw said just go into your vehicle custom settings and adjust same with settings for outside and inside lights. Where did you go on your road trip S W ??? I had a crazy couple of days one of the companies I use had a meeting that they pulled one agent from each state so I went to represent MD. Only the east coast so there were 13 of us. Get this had to be on a plane at 7 to fly into Philly then had a layover get to Tampa Fl at 1:55 lunch started at 1:00. The meeting started at 2:00. Just about a 3 - 3 1/2 hour meeting then dinner and a few drinks then to the room by 9:40 which was at a 4 star historic place Don Cesaur or something like that. Get up at 5:00 am to meet the driver to take me to the airport to fly home. Wow...my wife was like how did you like Tampa? I said I didn't even see Tampa. I don't care if he has owned it from new or not. I will bet just about anything that there was some damage to the front and that is the result of a bad paint job. I have seen quite a few cars that look like that and I think your clear is peeling and maybe even some of the paint is flaking off. Who knows someone could have hit the car on the lot and the dealer could have tried to fix it on the cheap. If the car is under warranty that should be fixed. If you had an accident then that is another story you need to go back to the bodyshop to get them to fix it not Lexus. Good luck.

My 04 that I had the lumbar motor went up. Had it replaced. I would check the fuses first. The key opening the windows should have nothing to do with the power gate. I used that feature all of the time. Try this for some reason my power gate would occasionally not open. While in the car key in either on or turned one click unlock all of your doors from the door switch. Then hold the power gate button. If it works then try your key. For some reason mine would not open with the key but after I did this it seemed to work fine. I assume you have manually opened and checked to make sure nothing is jamming it.

The clicking noise is the air conditioning system. If you pull out the air cabin filter and replace it may help. I know there is another post on this site that goes into detail about the problem and away to fix it. I know if you turn the Ac up it usually stops and it won't do it in the winter time if it is the same noise my car used to make. I actually did spray some electrical contact cleaner on mine and it did quiet it down for awhile. It gets to be annoying.

I am sure I am missing something...but I only use the speed dials when going in through the NAV - Phone menu...press speed dials and presto. Other wise I dial by name. Maybe there is a way to say dial using speed dials like dial #1... but why? If you said dial "Joe" you are just saying the name that you want to dial which is dial by "name" I am sure I did not help you at all but this is all I could think of...

Now you would think that is one of the settings you could customize yourself? :whistles:

You know it is funny there are laws in some states and some companies are starting to implement even in states that don't have laws in place that insurance companies disclose the commission that is paid to the producer/agent/broaker. I just don't get it at all. If you walk in the door or call me and I save you $50.00/ a month why would you care if I make 10% or 17% commission. I would love to be able to show the idiot that has started this the overhead in the business. I feel the same way about the car dealer. They should make money off of the deal. Who am I to say how much. Business is business if the deal works it works for both.

I would say as long as all regular services have been done I would not worry about the miles to much. I just got rid of our 04 RX 330 with 93500 on it sold it to a family member and the RX still ran like the day I got it. It was a great car and gave us no problems at all. Before we got rid of it took it on a little mini vacation with the wife and kids about a 500 mile trip and was smooth sailing.

Wow that is amazing that they will allow that much for your 4runner. My sister in law only got 18k for her 07 with 15 k miles on it. It was only the 2 wheel drive version but I still think she got ripped. I do know here on the shore they don't want to give much for trades though. I was getting a kbb trade value of 17-18k on my rx330 but no way I could get the dealers to give me that for it. I ended up selling it myself. Chitcago as you call it must be in more demand for used cars. Good luck with the VW NC. I thought you were going with another suv so I would have never guessed this one. I have never had a V W and the only 2 people that I know that have spent more time in the dealer and one was taken back as a lemon. I am sure you will have better luck and like you said you have the warranty so who cares. That is basically how I felt about the BMW. Glad SW and I did not have to break out our checkbooks! lol
