  1. Thanks for your helpful suggestions... I will try all of them... E I have had this happen before too on my rx330 but all it took was to turn the wheel a little and it freed the key so it would start. I may talk to the dealer about it if it was as bad as yours. You don't want to get stranded.
  2. Lemon... You are right misread and thought your post was directed at Rey. But that is besides the point of telling someone to DIY, my point was just because it saves you money and it works for you that is great but it is not the same for everyone. And to my first point I am not sure who you think you are but if you don't want me to reply or post it is simple don't post on here and use email or PM's to say what you want otherwise I will post and reply to whatever I feel like!
  3. I was going to make a dentist joke! Good one... Welcome to the club! as stated people here are more than welcome to help and this is a great club...but make sure you provide enough detail. As far as the car...clean the terminals if they are dirty and get a jump or as said put on a trickle charger. I assume no lights had been left on...it takes no time to drain one of these cars with the lights on... if your battery was dead and it is older put a new one in.
  4. I am not trying to come across as a jerk but just because it may be beneficial for you to do your own services there are many of us who not only don't want to do it also just don't have time to do it either. For me the little bit of time I have off the last thing I want to do is crawl under a car, have to find somewhere to dispose of the fluids. If I take off to do the service I will loose more money than if I had just paid to have the service done in the first place. It depends doing your own service "may" save you money and it may not. My time is worth money too. I didn't think the post I responded to was yours.... *edit* ..and now that I've checked, I see that it wasn't. Oh. My fault I guess if your post wasn't directed at me I am not supposed to respond? What? *edit* by the way if you had read the OP post he has already said that he is not a DIY kind of guy.
  5. :) Nope don't do the work on that either. Order the Redline fluids and have the dealer do it for $90.00. I would rather be riding it then turning wrenches. But I have changed the oil in previous cars and motorcycles I just don't want to spend the little free time I have doing something I can pay someone else to do. Like cutting grass. I have a John Deere ridding mower that I have to charge the battery up on and start it up every once in awhile to let it run because it is easier to pay someone to cut my grass. My time is more valuable than that. I think I just talked myself into selling my grasscutter. :)
  6. No the Alenzas are great tires but they get noisy after 20k or so. The only thing that may help would be to rotate more frequently. I think the alignment will absolutely help but the bridgestones that I had are far better for tread wear than the goodyears that came on it but noise wise I agree with you they are noisy. One other suggestion would be to lower the air pressure a little more. I always kept my air pressure in my rx 330 around 29-30 psi and this seemed to help. The fact is the alenzas are a harder tire so they last longer however the noise comes with it.

  8. I also use a independent mechanic for my BMW and I did use for my rx330 when the warranty was up. I have him put amsoil in them and after my first two services which are free on my new GX I am not sure if I will have him do the work or the dealership. The dealership is a little out of the way and that would be the main reason that I would not have it serviced there. The cost are not a huge factor for me since my business pays the cost of the services anyway. I also have a good relationship with the guy who owns the shop that is 1/2 mile from my office. I do like those loaner cars though!!! Well two services that is a year away.
  9. Maybe check your air pressure. My rx330 was pretty quiet but for me tires did make a huge difference at least for me. Good luck.
  10. This guy should be held to a higher standard than others. He is an officer of the law that is supposed to set an example for others. The fact that he has no remorse and is trying to get work comp out of this is absolutely disgusting and he should be ashamed of his self. I would hate to look in the mirror and see what he sees.
  11. And it will drive you crazy! Like said do a search and you will find some tips.
  12. No way I would put a bike back there. Make it three for the small trailer.
  13. This is unbelievable. I saw this on another site...This guy should rot in jail! Former Illinois State trooper Matt Mitchell was driving at 126 mph on Interstate 64 while emailing/texting his girlfriend on his phone. In his state, he crossed over the median and crashed head-on to another car, killing sisters Kelli and Jessica Uhl and injuring Kelly and Christine Marler, of Fayetteville. Mitchell sustained severe injuries to his leg. Mitchell was suspended with pay for two years on his $68,000 annual salary. After pleading guilty to criminal charges, Mitchell resigned from the state police. His guilty plea landed him 30 months probation. Now Mitchell is filing for worker's compensation, which could result in him receiving tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars, which are non-taxable. 14. Well I drove the wifeys X5 last weekend which is the kid hauler! :) of course the gas light was on. So I stopped put gas in and while I was filling up I was looking in at my kids when the dumb a s s kid next to me took off and left the freaking pump in his car. He just about yanked the hose off... So any way he gets out if his car and is "like man I can't believe I forgot to put it back man" well anyway topped off got talking to this other gut we are both like what a f--- dumb a-- so I put my gas cap back on but did not tighten it up all of the way. Next day service engine soon light is on. Check everything looks good runs fine so I call BMW play phone tag with the service adv. She finally gets ahold of me and tells me it can take two weeks for the light to cut off by itself once the on board CPU checks out it is OK. She says as long as it seems ok don't worry. Sure enough 5 days go by light turns off by itself. Crazy! I have to say as much as I enjoy driving the BMW I don't know if I would buy another one. My wife on the other hand says that she prefers the Mercedes or BMW to the Lexus mine or the rx330. She also is not a fan of the es350. She said she likes them but she likes the way the BMW and Mercedes drive. I can understand that to a point but the feel of the quality of the Lexus is much better than either. The way things are going she may have a Toyota sienna! :) lol
  15. Welcome to the club. Can't help with the code did you try to search? You may want to post this question in a new topic too. Someone will chime in!
  16. There is an easier way to disable this feature. Push the setup button then voice-voice recognition system-off-save. KC that is exactly what I was talking about. It helps.
  17. Now you do have the English option selected right? Just kidding :) It is funny my iPhone using google or it's own voice feature can get 99% of what I am saying. It is hard to understand why the Lexus has such a hard time. I think the voice calls are the worst and the feature I would use the most. I say call home. My lex says back to me call Gary??? What. I have gotten to the point i just use speed dials unless I am just like what the h e l l I have 5 mins to kill.
  18. I signed in online...and I see how to do it but I haven't done it yet. I think if I was planning a trip somewhere it would be nice or if I was in a line of work like yours and I was planning my day out and had several houses I was showing it may be something that I was interested in doing...but entering in the car is easy enough for me...I rarely use the NAV system anyway but if I have to go out of town it is nice.
  19. Well if the sunroof is open, windows down, or air is blowing to hard forgetaboutit (in my Sopranos voice) :D I have found that when you are trying to say #'s you are best to say 246 and not 2 - 4 - 6, and not two hundred and forty six. I don't use the voice command that much...unless I want to show off! Then I say 74 degrees and the temp goes to 74. Paul have you cut the guidance off so it skips the steps of asking you 100 questions? That seems to help a little that way it only gets one or maybe two things wrong and not 10? :D SW...I am going to use the LexusEnform button tonight to ask them to change my radio station to see what they say! I haven't had the need to use the Enform service yet but it seems like it is a great feature.
  20. Hot :) (I used both words faith hill)
