  1. Cd. If your flight attendants looked like the past few I have had you WOULD mind if they dressed like that! :) :) :)
  2. Are you sure that's not the ad for Hooters airline? I think the main reason it has changed look at who can fly now vs. who used to fly. Years ago not everyone could afford to fly. Most of the people that did were business men or wealthy people. Now just about anyone can afford to fly. It is much different. Look at how passengers used to dress to fly. Most had on suits or at least dress shirts... I think you also had to keep in mind years ago people were not as sue happy as they are today. I am sure if there were uniforms like this for a flight attendant today it would be a matter of time before there was someone suing the air line. In 1972 I wasn't born yet Paul :)
  3. looks like 1010keys at ebay could be my way to go ... Cool. Good luck with it!
  4. Can't imagine it would. Please post any info you find. I am actually planning on getting my front windows on my gx460 done soon. I don't see how it would affect anything.
  5. You know the more I think about it Paul and SW are probably right it is probably the sensor not the remote. It still may be worth a try but it would make more sense if it was the sensor.
  6. Do a search for this on here. A member on here has some good info on the eBay keys good ones and bad ones. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showuser=83491
  7. That is strange. How many times has this happened can you do it every time? It has done it about five time. No, I cannot reproduce it, it happens randomly. The first time was about one week after I got the car. I thought it might be an unlock setup option, but could find nothing in the manual about it. The only logical explanation is that somehow when I am walking, the open button on the key is pushed and I don't realize it. That's hard to believe though and it's strange that it has only happened when I approach the back passenger door from the rear. Yea...I don't buy that you are somehow hitting the unlock button in your pocket. I can understand it maybe one time but not 5 times. The buttons don't stick out that far so it would be hard for that to happen over and over. I think Paul is right that if you have hit the lock or unlock button and the system has reset then you should be good. Here is what I would try. Put that key away and use the other key. See if it does it with your other key. If it doesn't then tell your dealer something is wrong with the other transmitter. If it does you have a bigger problem...the car.

  9. Paul I have spent some money in my younger years on systems and at this point in my life I guess I am happy with the stock system that I have I do have the ML, but even before that I was ok with it. I think the best upgrade for the money is what you have done pop a sub in the rear with an amp. This will give you that nice deep bass that the factory is missing. I think that unless you want to rip the whole thing out and start over then leave the door speakers alone. Good luck with it.
  10. That is well put and is the way I feel about it too. I understand not wanting to drive to the Lexus dealer it takes me just as long to get there same with BMW. That is why I found a good independent shop. The first few services on the GX will be done by the dealer since they are free. (by the way I have the independent shop insured with my agency so if he screws up I go through his general liability insurance if he doesn't want to fix it. Same as you would have to do with Jiffy Lube)
  11. No my brakes are not at all like that.
  12. That is still a great deal. I think that you will find the gas mileage is much better on the new GX too.
  13. The Lexus dealer did not believe you or your insurance company? You can always go to your states dept of insurance file a complaint and let them get a response from the insurance company. It would be hard for your insurance company to dispute the claim if there was evidence that the car had been hit. Have you talked to your agent? Claims rep. Or supervisor?
  14. what? lol. what sensor? be more detailed. There is a sensor in the fuel tank...it lets the "cluster needle" know when it is full or empty. Had one go up on my Jeep before...they droped the tank and replaced it...not sure about yours.
  15. Ok his insurance company will surcharge him for his loss so if he keeps the policy they "may" recoup the money. The bigger picture is what I am saying the problem is "not you or this specific claim" the fact that the company is paying for damage that they should not. Now say he is with company abc company abc has a higher loss ratio based on paying out more on a claim then they should have. So this one time no big deal but over 50 or 100 times it adds up and will cost everyone with company abc more money not just the bad drivers. You are still missing my point though I was saying that people claim damage all of the time that was not due to the accident and claim it was which is fraud and that is what I said causes everyones premiums to go up in the original post. I keep saying you did not do anything wrong.
  16. You can take it how you want but that comment was not directed at you in anyway. The person it was directed at knows. But I think that he is a good guy and if he had to do things over he may not do the same thing he did before. He is also a great resource for this site. I also never said that you did anything wrong. I even said that at least you did not try to get them to fix it. I think you mis read my post or you just took it the wrong way. I still dont see how can you say things like this don't cause everyones insurance to go up? The insurance company paid out for damage that they should not have. It wasn't your fault that they fixed it.
  17. Welcome to the Club! Post some pics of the old girl! It is ok to love her!
  18. Sorry to hear about this too. I did not think that you could start the car with the credit card key. I am amazed that popping out the door lock and opening the door would not have set the alarm off...
  19. AND Once again DCFISH Saves The Day! (in my loud voice!) :D
  20. Yea... <_< I am not going to start my rant about why everyone's insurance goes up because of claims like this. At least in this case he did not "try" to get the shop to fix the existing damage which is done all of the time. If the shop fixed it and the insurance company did not question it then it worked out well for you. It is one thing if they had to paint that area anyway but... I handle quite a few claims and most of the time the question is always asked "was there any previous damage to the car?" So they may have asked you or your wife and like most people not thinking of any major damage to it you would have said no. This happens all of the time and unless it is on a complete different area of the car or it is clear that it was previous damage then they fix it. Not worth trying to dispute it.
  21. Guess you have a great Jiffy Lube in your area... Good luck to you and your future services there...and yes I said taking a car to Jiffy lube to save $40...or so is cheap. Wow you save a whole $6 or $7 dollars a month by using Jiffy Lube to service your car...based on average miles of 10k per year(2 services per year) My independent guy uses amsoil which Jiffy Lube doesn't changes the oil and rotates the tires...tops fluids off etc. Cost $65.oo or so for the BMW X5. Of course if I go to Lexus or BMW for the service it will be higher...Well I guess when I spend 60k on a Lexus I am not going to go out of my way to save $6 dollars a month. As you said I am free to over spend... It is funny what people choose to save money on... By the way what is so hard about the drain and fill on a transmission?
