  1. Have you tried looking under the car? You need to look under the car too. I had a 1997 jeep Cherokee that had a smaller thing if I filled it more than 3/4 of a tank when I cut it off I heard this gulp...gulp...gulp sound and all I could smell was gas fumes. If it was under half a tank no smell no sounds. Turns out there was a small hole in the top of the fuel tank and the fuel pump was bad too which was causing the noise. Good Luck!
  2. Dan- I am sure that it is hard to part was with a car like that. Like you I do not have time to tinker with my cars either...but even if I did have the time I don't think that I would enjoy it. If you don't plan to do everything yourself then you are talking some big $$$...but another option that you could consider doing is find someone who works on cars that has a reliable shop and start getting some prices on getting your engine work done and then go from there if it looks like you will just throw good money after bad then dump it. Either way with any car that age you will have some problems...things just wear out after awhile... Best of Luck!
  3. Yeah I am afraid how much it will cost me. The car is only 14 months old. I asked if it will be covered under the "Bumper to Bumper" claim, but the woman didn't know. Thank yall for the advice! There is no reason it would not be covered under warranty. I would call and schedule an appointment and get it fixed talk to the S M if you want to be sure it will be covered. Now if you did more than try to tighten those screws they could try to say that you caused it. I don't think they will they will just show it as warranty work. If you are due for a service soon schedule them at the same time.
  4. They are saying for routine maintenance every 5k...oil change, tire rotation...etc. You can use an independent shop. I just hit 30K on a preowned 05 and the dealer recommended a 30k service totaling $500. I passed and figured I do a little research first - do anyone know what is truly necessary? Thanks! Look in the service book in your car, or online it will tell you. Most of it I think is inspections. I think many times you are safe to have the oil changed and fluids topped off. Take a look at Lexus.com and register your car you should be able to get the service intervals.
  5. See what the dealer has to say. The rx330 I had had a little noise coming from the dash told them about it and they took care of it. Be honest with them tell them where the noise is coming from and it is driving you nuts. I think they will take care of it. Best of luck to you.
  6. I am sure you would win that one. :D He won't take it out of the garage if it is even cloudy... :D
  7. Even though it last happened last Monday, I haven't been able to duplicate it. I even held a key a few inches from the handle with no results. I am going in for my 25K maintainance next week (yes I put a lot of miles on my car) and will ask about it. I am sure the dealer will say nothing is wrong with it and it is the way I walk, but it is worth a try. BTW, I am not sure how you reset the lock with the manual key, can't find anything about it in the owner's manual. Is it just unlocking the door with the manual key? I think they mean hit the lock button, and unlock button on your key...
  8. Having battery assist is like having a bottle of nitrous that is automatically replenished (albeit a bit slowly) by a large tank. If you are going to race someone, make sure your charge (bottle) is full. Car & Driver achieved a 0-60 time of 6.7 seconds with a full charge. You couldn't beat that with an RX350 no matter how hard you tried. Who are you going to race in a rx? My neighbor has a Viper if you want me to line something up for you! :) :)
  9. Glad to hear you are doing well. Good luck with the little lady! I am sure mamma is getting ready. Take care NC nice to hear from you.
  10. You should have a paper with the owners manuel that should show the radio ID#. I think you need to have the radio activated in order for it to work when you hit the button. So look through the papers to see if you see a sat radio booklet with the id code for your radio and then try activating it with xm and see if it works.
  11. Cool that's weird though wonder why? Ok Thread Jacked! :) Back on topic. So any luck with the other key or plans to go to the dealer.
  12. I agree! Most airlines nowadays charge passengers for the littlest of things, personally i wouldn't mind paying a little extra to be served by one of those ladies. :whistles: I was born 40 years too late. :( Yea...but what if this guy was in one of those outfits!
  13. I also have IE and have not noticed it...
  14. Kyle I did have one offer me 9k for it too. :( I had no real interest in trading mine in. I just use it to get the price lower on the car I am purchasing. Then I take the trade off the table.
  15. Just wondering have not seen NC on in awhile...anybody heard from him?
  16. Just another off the wall idea...do you have the RSE? If you have the remote it could be hitting something and causing the station to change. It is unlikely but just another guess.
  17. Is it AWD? If so I would say it is a good deal. I think she could easily get 14 - 15 for it if she traded it (AWD) this is what I was offered for mine trade with out any negotiations a couple of months ago...with 91k on it. Did not trade it sold it to a family member for about what I could have gotten for trading it. Take a look on Edmunds and KBB...and see what private party pulls up I am sure it will be around 19k if it is AWD. Suggested retail if a dealer was selling it would be higher.
