I would be willing to bet it is the actuator in the door. Since the key works I don't think there is much else it could be.

Paul to be honest I do listen to it sometimes...but 90% of the time I use Pandora... I just hate having something in the car that I can't use. But I do like the Weather and Traffic even though it doesn't pick up much as far as Traffic in this area but it is nice when I am out of town...

OK well SOB...they deactivated my account! :chairshot: So I didn't quite get a free year but here is what happened. When I called the guy said that I had requested it disconnected back in NOV 2010? Which I did...but then renewed after they called me back and offered a better price. So I have had the service for a year with them and I never got a bill or anything they just discontinued my service. So the guy at XM kept telling me well sir you canceled in NOV 2010...after repeating my story to him 3 times that yes I had but then did renew it and it has been a whole year...he still wasn't getting it...he tells me there will be a reactivation fee and it will cost twice what I paid last year. (This guy couldn't even speak English...and I was starting to get a little P___ OFF!) So I said let me speak to your supervisor...at this point I was fed up so I spoke nicely to him :) Look bud I am not repeating this story for a 4th time…either turn back on my radio or leave it OFF. He agreed that they had messed up and gave me the XM radio with NAV Traffic and weather back at the promotional rate which is half of what the first idiot I talked to…and no reactivation fee.

Yea...I will get a free year of service if it is a billing issue! :) it is just odd that the SAT function works for everything but the steering wheel mode button? Does anyone know if the SAT radio is deactivated if it still shows when you scan through radio functions with the mode button on the steering wheel button? I am almost willing to bet that is what it is my LEX is of seeing the SAT radio for some reason. Still weird though?

OK...I am stumped here. I get in my GX today and am using the mode button on the steering wheel to change radio stations. All of my SAT radio presets were saying unauthorized. Then when I started scanning through it picked them back up...but now when I try to go from SAT 1-2-3 using the mode button on the steering wheel it just completely skips the SAT radio? I think I may call and see if they need to send a new signal or something but I can hit the SAT radio on the NAV or the radio itself and it works fine...even the voice recognition works! LOL Any ideas fellas? by the way it is a 2010 GX460 with the ML and NAV.

Sold my 04 a year ago for about 15k it had every option you could get Nav, RSES, etc. I sold it under private party because it was a family member that bought it. I had around 80k on it. With only 35k on it I may pay a little more but certainly not 24k... On a side note...I loved that 04 rx330...great Lexus...and it has well over 130k on it now and is still trouble free. Good luck with it.

Are you kidding...I don't even like driving my wife's X5 anymore because I have to use the key fob to open the doors and start the car. I am lazy too! I know with the nav system you can go in the settings to change that...however with out nav I have no idea how to get in the custom settings? I am sure someone else will chime in... you may want to check out the owners manual.

Hit the unlock button two times with the fob. Or have the dealer change the setting. With nav it can be done in the settings menu

I don't see how that's possible? Isn't the time kept automatically like a cell phone?

Is there a trunk button? Or will the rear seats lay down? Don't know much about the 01 GS sorry but have had many other toyota/lexus cars and most had a way to pop the trunk inside the car...

NO way...hell I floor my GX every once in awhile just to see what it will do. I am sure it is fine. If you ran it hard all of the time redlining it and hard stops over and over I am sure eventually something would give but that is to be expected. I can tell you this much...I would have a LS now if it wasn't for the tax break I got for this GX and with the two little ones the space is nice...and if I had one I would run it every once in awhile.

I kind of agree to a point. I guess a person with a LS could feel the same about a ES though? I used to hear the same thing on the Mercedes forum about the C230 it is called a baby Benz or the entry level Mercedes. Which I guess it is...And some owners of S classes feel that the c class cheapens the image of Mercedes too. I don't personally like the HS or the CT. I am not a fan of small cars at all and I will not drive one as a loaner. Not trying to be a jerk but I don't like driving a small car and I always request something else.

Rear seat entertainment system (DVD player in rear)

Do you have the rses? If so and it is like my previous 04 the only way is for the headphones to be on for DVD and you can listen to the audio. I have to admit I never used the headphone since my kids were little. I do not think that you can have the rear speakers playing one thing and the front playing something else? If you are speaking of watching the DVD in the front as in my GX...won't work while moving and the same thing with the audio.
