Smooth- Thanks...parents are doing OK. I know my mom is just upset that she wasn't there at the end to be with her dad and also for her mom. But to be honest it was for the best that she didn't see her dad his final week.

Thanks fellas. And yes SW I have been extremely blessed with not only great parents but great grandparents. We all lived close to each other so we saw each other all of the time. Both of my grandfathers are gone now but I know that both of them have helped shape me into the man that I am. I can only hope to do the same for my children and one day their children.

Well I haven't had much time for anything lately but just wanted to share with my LOC family what my past couple of weeks have been like. My parents left for a trip out of the country and I was going to check in on my grandparents while they were out of town and email my parents updates. Well my grandfather hasn't been well but nothing like what happened was expected. The day my parents left he had to be confined to a bed, stopped eating drinking and the next day was my grandparents 59th anniversary. He bounced back for a couple of days but he ended up passing the day before my parents made it back. I was able to leave my office quite a bit to help my grandmother out but I tell you guys I think this is one of the hardest things in my life. I grew up extremely close with my grandparents and I know he is in a much better place...I am sad to loose him but not sad for him. He had a great life. I am sad for my grandmother who has lost her best friend and partner...they married when she was 15...they did everything together. I just can't imagine the pain she is in. We layed him to rest yesterday and it was just a hard day. Sorry not trying to bring everyone down but just wanted to share my past couple of weeks.

Welcome to LOC! Yea that is exactly right. It is kind of odd sometimes mine will be right there and other times it will say you have reached your destination in advance. I agree with Paul I like the advanced notice.

I had the Bridgestone Dueler's on my former RX330 and thought that they were great tires. Had no problem with rain or snow with them and the tread life was much better than what the tires that came on it which I think were the MXV4s but can't be sure.

NO this thread is still going! Newt only appeals to the FAR hardcore right. I consider myself pretty conservative but I don't like Newt. No one in the middle will sway his way if they are undecided. He will have the true republicans and that is it. Honestly I would never vote for Obama...but if Newt is our candidate...there is no since in even voting IMHO… I am not sold on Mitt but I do think that he hasn't alienated the people that are in the middle or haven't made their minds up yet. The rest of the republicans - hard core right will vote for anyone but Obama anyway. OK…I am back to work. Someone has got to keep paying taxes!

Well that is sure strange. I know that you should be able to get the turn by turn directions. So just to make sure that I understand you correctly the NAV system isn't telling you when to make the turns or it isn't showing you on the screen? If it is not showing you there are options that can put the turn list as well as the map on the screen. As far as the audio...the only other idea I would have is you NAV Volume turned up? I am sure that you have checked already but the NAV Volume can be turned up and down...wonder if it is possible it is turned all the way down or off? Is the route guidance turned on? I think that is what it is called?

Welcome to LOC! Paul is right on...happens in my GX and also in my wife's X5 even worse! I do have a solution! Wear dress pants.... It is a PIA but just clean and condition the seats. I have noticed that the darker jeans of my wife's really mark up the seats bad so I usually take a leather wipe and clean the seats quite often.

I think you need to go into the settings you must have something turned off.

They have added the USB and Bluetooth in the newer Lexus models thank you Lexus. What you may want to give a shot is the adapters they sell that plug in to the mp3 player and it will transmit via the FM channels on you radio not great but good. I have one for our 06x5 and it works fine. Other than that you will need to pull out the factor radio and use a kit that will offer a hook up. I think DICE was the one I looked at? Best of luck.
