So SW I met with the Safelite regional manager and guess what...he said that they do stock OEM glass for Lexus, BMW and all other cars. He said that actually they stock more OEM glass than any company and many times car dealerships call them if the glass is on back order... From what he said when you requested the OEM glass Safelite should have gotten the approval from Allstate on your behalf. If they denied the OEM glass that would be the only reason you should have had to call Allstate. Which he said he didn't think would happen...not on that new of a car.

I'd rather spend the $50 and get a new OEM Lexus windshield ;) I don't blame you but to be honest I had a chip repaired on my rx330 that you would have never known it had been fixed. It depends on how big it is and where it is located. All I was saying is sometimes if it is a small chip get it repaired so it wont split or crack the rest of the window. And for some people that have a 500 comp deductible check with your company to see if you actually have to pay that to get your window fixed, some companies will waive it if it can be repaired...for obvious reasons. I also have a $50 deductible on comp myself. Glad you got your new window in...

And that is waived if they can repair it! So if it is a small chip it isn't a bad idea to get it repaired if it is in a spot that isn't that going to bug you.

Perfect example had my GX460 serviced yesterday. Checked the air in the tires this morning and they all were at 37 PSI. This gives a much rougher ride. Dropped them all to 33 and as the weather warms up I may end up lowering them more. Check your air pressure first.

First thing is to play with the PSI that you are running in your tires. My guess would be to lower it a couple PSI in each tire. Most of the dealers over inflate the tires. I alway readjust my tires and end up lowering it a couple. The lower pressure will give you a much better ride. Even better than AOL? :) Haven't messed with you in awhile!

Are you talking about on the Nav screen? If so just hit do not display this message again. Otherwise I think this is how it is done. Going from memory and I haven't done it on my GX460. I just remember reading it. Start out by making sure the trip odometer is NOT on 'Trip A' or 'Trip B' just the normal ODO With ignition off press and hold the trip reset button. Push the 'Start' button twice without pressing the brake, but while holding the reset button. That should take care of it.

Cant do it anymore like that. I wish you could. Actually if the NAV was updated In the 430 it would have been disabled too. I had a 04 rx330 and the hack worked until I had the NAV updated can't remember what version but then it disabled that. Good luck.

Well I am 99.9% sure the problem is the partnership with Safelite. Honestly it is so easy for your agency to file the claim for you I can not believe they asked you to do it online. Also if a customer insist on OEM glass the claim honestly needs to be called in to Allstate...obviously if Safelite is administering the glass program they will not approve the repair with OEM glass just as they can not approve repairs with other providers. However you can still use anyone you want to make the repairs. Nationwide and most companies are also using the same programs to administer their glass programs too. If you want shoot me your policy number (PM) I will do a quick check to make sure you are getting all your discounts.

It is in the personlized settings. Go into the setup and from there I think it is in NAV settings. Going from memory so I may be off. To be honest I cut mine off but I kind of like having the option to listen to a command I may not know...so I have turned it back on and always hit the button twice if I don't want to hear it. By the way welcome to LOC!

CD...what's wrong back up camera not working? Sorry man bad joke. I have done the same thing and the first thing I thought was why in the hell did you park there? I try to back into my spot at my office for this reason alone...I don't care back up camera, parking sensors...when you are used to backing up and nothing is ever behind you sometimes you just don't pay attention.
