  1. ok what does creaking mean? i changed all of my front suspension components and the major noise makers were the lower ball joints, inner tie rods, strut arm bushings, and swaybar bushings. the lower arms were really not that worn along with the uppers.
  2. well i suggest turn the car on and open the hood and try to locate where the noise is coming from it could be your ac clutch. try turn that off and see.
  3. like he said. ;) but if you had to chose wouldnt you want to spend the extra and get the toms if the factory warranty can still be retained?. the sc430 puts out about 260hp and with the toms super charger i think it was at 350-60 so thats 100hp gain which is significant. UCF: did you ask or did they mention that the factory warranty can be retained with the toms kit?
  4. for an hid kit i would recomend going to hid-online.com they use all phillips stuff and its only about 500 bucks for a 4300k conversion.
  5. i just used mothers mag and alum. polish and it came out nice but mine werent that bad.
  6. yea blitz and toms. both very expensive and toms even more but with toms i read that in japan you can retain the factory warranty. so lets hope that that will be the same for here if it is available.
  7. i feel a bit more feedback and definitely more responsive. but i dont remember what the original felt like and anything was better than what i had. the white part is made out of nylon and the center is aluminum. the cost for me was free. i just had these lying around. and when i took it all appart it was like at 5 pm so the dealer was closed and i needed the car so i just punched it all up and well its been great. but i fear that the nylon is a bit too hard meaning that other steering components might suffer but only time will tell.
  8. thats probably what it is in most cases.
  9. oo if it is a worn u-joint get it fixed fast. i am in the proccess of fixing a dodge van that when you shifted in to gear or got on or off the throttle there was a mean metalic clank. and a day after i looked at it to see what was wrong the trans yolk cracked in to two on the road. cost the guy 500 to tow and well i jsut had the drive shaft made costing 300 and i will probably charge 200 to put it in because i had to run around and arrange everything. so moral of the lesson is when it comes to drive shaft failure it can cost upwards to a 1000 bucks so get it checked out.
  10. struts kind of act as an upper arm so there are things that can go wrong in the pivot assembly but unless the threads some how stripped on the mouts or the lock nut on the shaft came loose on the shock i am preatty sure its the shock it self. but well you never know what can happen. it could just be a simple swaybar bushing that was the culprit in my LS.
  11. sure if you want them i will make them.
  12. had the same problem, and already changed both sus arms so i chnged the struts about 2weeks ago and it was so bad that when i layed the shock on its side oil oozed out :o . and now its all good and it handles better too ;)
  13. your coil(s) are out. i had the same problem about a month ago. there are two and at this point you might as well change them both because they only run 100 a piece and depening on which dealer you get them at you can get up to 25% off.
  14. is the vvt-i a good thing with the turbo? what do you think... and 21psi....how are your internals? not stock im guessing.
  15. thats what i am looking for! how much boost are you pushing?
  16. you wont be sorry you chose the 3k paint job once you see one that was done for a grand.
  17. i remember a long time ago my seat switch went out for one fo the controlls. try pull that off and check those. these switches blow up sometimes.
  18. you cant go wrong with parts or gaskets from the dealer. so i recommend getting everything from there. your already saving like 1000 bucks in labor you can spend a bit on gaskets right?
  19. a vacume leak some where could cause a high idle.
  20. if your changeing the motor mount yourself then go and buy a 14mm universal joint socket. that will help alot and maybe get a set of the universal joits while your at it.
  21. just the back of mine in behind the sc
  22. i paint a little and yea i would charge 2-3 grand for a whole car if it were a show finish because of the work that goes in it. the most time consuming part is the prep. getting the surface perfect before spraying is key for a nice paint job. spraying isnt really that hard, even pearl and stuff, its not that hard to make it look good. add to that some 7-10 coats of clear ( i like it thick) also with out a controlled environment orange peel is bound to happen. then hit it with some wet sanidng and polish and you wont believe what you can do. but anyway if you want to paint your car spend good money on it and 2-3k is the right amount. they wll pull glass, trim, and if your motor is pulled they will do a good engine bay too. you cant expect much for a grand ;)
  23. does he really have to talk you in to it? if he can make a manifold like that then thats 2 grand off your bill.
  24. if you can get behind it you can rub it out with a dolly but this must take practice, i have only seen pros do this.
  25. man i wish i could fab up a manifold like that. well i am getting there ;)
